That was more along the lines of what I was thinking. Or if he had some sort of remote detonation—the idea here was him enacting an "If I can't have this city, no one can" sort of plan.
-
Agreed. They're a climactic event, so if they're used at any point, it should be as a last-ditch attempt at survival. I can't decide—would any of our characters think using nukes against Obliteration would work? Yes, I remember. Had I only known about Iconoclast then, I would have known better.

It's all but stated that seeing warring Epics destroy an entire state is what drove Megan to work for a tyrant. "He's terrible," she says, "but he's the kind of terrible people can live with." Like Kobold said, it doesn't discount the chances of vanillas getting their hands on a few nukes, or—more likely—Epics using nukes as a last-ditch attempt to annihilate their enemies. And if anyone's going to do it, my money's on superduperubercorrupted!Arsenal.

phattemer, try sorting the answers by "Newest." It automatically sorts them by "Best."

Aaaaahhhhh! This is how I feel right now:
-
Go for it! And the timeline one is worth asking again, if he hasn't gotten to it yet.
-
Yes. And because the answer will imply all sorts of interesting things about Epics and exactly what sort of changes Calamity makes to them.
-
I say same comment chain for simplicity's sake.
-
Quick! Ask questions while he's still feeling frumious and make sure to mention the RP!
-
Guys! Look at the AMA!
-
I just asked him if, at the time of the first book, any other regions were uninhabitable. I know I'll probably get a RAFO, but it seemed like a more necessary question to try than "Can Obliteration sing every word to REM's 'It's the End of the World as We Know It'?" Edit: It wasn't RAFOed! He said that there aren't many in the states, but since nukes were used in fighting the Epics, there are some irradiated areas around the world, and that he might be able to dig up some more info for us because of the RP!
-
And it was RAFOed. But he did say he might use Snowfall in a book if he ever returns to the world, so that's something.
-
Just asked!
-
Yeah, I've been doing a lot of skipping.
-
The income tax amendment? I'd plead for it to be repealed.
-
I'll ask the Snowfall one, then, once he gets around to answering. (I have the page open on my phone, so I'll just refresh it a bit more obsessively. ) I'll see if I can pay my siblings in candy or beer (in Alex's case) for asking others.
-
Should I ask that one, or the one about whether Epics can have children?
-
That could work. "What is the extent of Snowfall's powers and territory?"
-
I think that was the flaw in my question about Western Epics--it was short, but had the potential for a three-page response. I'll not make the same mistake twice.
-
Mom and Dad, definitely not, but they'd ask lame questions anyway. My siblings, though...I'll have to ask. This is too good an opportunity to pass up.
-
I can ask one. He hasn't technically answered any of mine yet.
-
He didn't get my question, either.
-
Yeah, I don't see a problem with that. Steelheart is immune to his own energy beams, after all.
