Definitely a start. Right, Voidus? Oh dear. Uhhhh....give me a while to puzzle out exactly what I was trying to say. All the questions have been great so far; I just need to learn to stop logicing on less sleep than I'm used to before I say something that makes no potato cannon.

That sounds like the sort of ridiculous power that would happen in Oregon. I think Joe mentioned the Epic Epic in Sightline's intro, so I think we're already curious. Also, side note: I think with AMA questions, we should stick to ones with answers that can change how we approach things in the future, since he has a lot to answer. (For instance, going to postpone the one about Funtimes' fear of abandonment, perhaps indefinitely. I'm curious, but hers is a bit distinctive among Oregon Epics, and the answer to that question won't change how I write her. I've already started, so it'd be silly to change now.)
-
Oh yeah, since meta-Epics are okay now.
-
Or they're rare at the time of the series because most of them died in Oregon.

I think that's the best part of that answer, really. Seriously, that "twist" would have literally made David allergic to himself. True. It is kind of exciting to have things we thought weren't canon confirmed as canon, though, which makes the prospect of it working the other way mildly nerve-wracking. Excellent. I shall continue stockpiling pug pictures for when they are needed most. (PAY THE BRIBE, KOBOLD! PAY OR SUFFER NIGHTHOUND JR.! ) I haven't heard from Lightsworn in months. He really does. And you know, if they just went with the danger sense and wrote the stories to compensate for that, even if they did it poorly, I'd be fine with it. I understand how much of a challenge that can be; I'm currently worldbuilding for a story centered on a precog who can chart out possible futures up to a month in advance, and it definitely adds a layer of difficulty to the plotting. So I understand wanting to find ways of negating it, or working around it, because a danger sense pretty much removes any possibility of said character being ambushed. But the way it's usually handled, it's around when it's convenient or makes for a better scene, but the second a plot twist hinges on Spidey being surprised, his danger sense vanishes, only to reappear three scenes later with no explanation for its absence.

I definitely liked the story. As you hoped, I did find the concept beautiful, even if I didn't believe it. I think the truth is out there. I believe in God, and I believe everyone has the capacity to comprehend only so much of his vast truths. Like the Universe in your story, I think God wants people to see and understand what they can of the truth, and he's given us ways to do that. I loved the way you told it. Very well-written, like someone telling a story they know well to people they know will like it.

Not if it's like Spider-Man's and fails when the plot needs it to.
-
It's not. I'm just notoriously terrible at math, so whenever I see something more complicated than basic arithmetic, I kind of get the heebie-jeebies.
-
So for mathematically challenged me…. LITTLE FORCEFIELD GO FAST BIG FORCEFIELD NOT GO FAST HULK ANGRY AT MATH HARSHING HIS MELLOW GRRRR

No to all those guesses.

That does sound awful. Why is she leaving? More money, is the job closer to home, or is it something else? -
He definitely sounds like he'd fit in The Dalles best. (Astoria is where all the OP Epics go, so no, he doesn't sound too overpowered at all.) Is he limited to one shape, or can he cast one in, say, the shape of a chicken dressed like Leonidas fighting a Canadian? Can he make them small enough to fit in someone's veins and create something like a clot to give them a heart attack, or do the forcefields fritz out when they get that close to living matter, or can he just not make them that small?
-
He sounds awesome. How big are his forcefields, what's his range, and how can he use them? (For instance, can he use them to fly, like Prof, or are they strictly defensive?)

I'm so sorry. How far away is she moving? Will you be able to see her on occasion? -

Nice directions, if you want to be all boring about it. (He's right, though. Post in the Question thread.) -
Sweet! The mutated results of WWII radiation experiments scuttle from one strange adventure to the next while learning nothing at all.

Read the Reckoners books, then take a right past My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, walk through the field of pugs, and give a wave to Shia LaBeouf as you traipse over the Washington/Oregon state line. What happened? -
Now, for the matter of Edgedancer's bribe. I wasn't sure exactly which pictures would convince him to spare us from Nighthound Jr., so I gathered a few. Do you think he'll like….
-
I'll ask, though I'll couch it in different terms. Jade's fear is best described as a fear of abandonment, which is more like a bunch of different fears—fear of losing loved ones, fear of loved ones leaving, fear of not being good enough—all rolled into one. It's still worth knowing exactly how much Funtimes breaks canon.

How I feel seeing all these AMA answers:

There's also the Reckoners RPG, which is a strange and twisted rabbit hole from which spring insanity, ponies, pug pictures, and many, many upvotes. -
I can't think of an appropriate meme to describe Elhokar's revelation, yet I need one desperately.

And it's great. Now her imagination can go back to wondering whether or not Obliteration sings every word to REM's "It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)" when he gets drunk at parties.

Sorry, Twi's imagination is currently screaming in mortal terror. Please leave a message after the tone.
