    Perhaps there's a chance David will get powers in Calamity—I'm not leaving that off the table—but if David had gone through a Rending in Firefight, he would've gone on a murder spree the moment Calamity gave him powers. Yet in the book, he refuses the powers outright and doesn't kill anyone at all.

    But yes, using his powers for himself to that extent would undo any good his past gifting had done. And add my voice to those others who like the idea of his arc following him as he slowly falls apart.

    Gifting is more of a band-aid solution so far as corruption is concerned. Since Prof gave large amounts of his power away, he managed to stave it off for quite a while, but So it could work somewhat, but it definitely wouldn't be a perfect solution.

    Japanese spiders are much nicer. I guess after the tsunami, they built their webs in trees, resulting in nightmarish images ....but they also ate all the mosquitoes before they could spread malaria. Good guy spiders.

    I'm a glitter ninja goddess now? This is the weirdest pantheon EVER. It's fine. Can you hide the thread? If not, I can do it. You'll probably want to copy and paste your post into The Dalles, but you might want to hold off until other players can give their feedback on your character. It's just to see what his limits are and how that'll work within the context of the thread, and let other Dalles players anticipate how the initial meeting will go, as well as find the best place for him. So if you want to save the post somewhere on your computer and hide the thread, or I can do it if the site won't let you, we can get that started.

    It's okay. Seriously, it's totally fine. Which city will your character head towards? Corvallis, Astoria, or The Dalles?

    Right here is fine. I think the first question is, why did you want to start a new game thread? I'm definitely not averse to opening up new cities, but the rationale for opening them is good to know. And it's better to present the question to other players before the thread is opened to ensure there are enough players interested in joining to sustain it. I haven't read the post yet, which I will as soon as I can, but since this game concerns the destruction of Oregon, I would like to keep the cities in Oregon. Boise isn't too far from the border, but a suggestion to open up Dallesport, WA was rejected before, so I think it's better to keep things within Oregon's borders.
