    It snowed last night. In the desert. I can still see it out my window. This is going to be a good year.

      On New Year's Eve we had freezing rain in my part of Texas. I started 2015 with a nigh-frictionless environment and a wind sharp enough to freeze your kidneys.

      Still though... there's a kind of surreal beauty to winter in an arid environment.
