  1. Brandon has stated that he doesn't really care to much how exactly the names or terms in his books are pronounced, but when my little brother started pronouncing Kaladin as Alladin with a K in front, I started to care. How do you guys pronounce certain words, and which ones are you still unsure about?
  2. Just asked about Epigraphs. The results came back negative. I'm sure there is some cosmere revelation stuffs in the book, but I did really enjoy the idea of an updated Sazed PoV through epigraphs.
  3. ha, I posted a while back nominating Aona for Unity for the exact same reasons. Whatever the case is, I feel strongly that one of the two shards is Unity. Also, I'm beginning to question my assumption that Aona and Skai have opposing natures.
  4. I'm really excited by the Allomantic-Feruchemic combo that Wax has. It seems that being able to alter your weight during a coin battle will be very useful. Let's agree to hope for some really creative fight scenes!
  5. I would like to announce that the bar for Alloy of Law revisions on Brandon's website jumped straight from 0% to 100% Could not be more excited for that book!
  6. So... back to the original topic. (which will seem off topic to the preceding posts) My nomination for Aona's shard name is Unity. Shu-Keseg, the parent religion of Shu-Dereth and Shu-Korathi, is based on Keseg's teachings of unity. It just seemed to be a strong enough recurring theme to deserve a mention. Plus it's mildly all encompassing. The pool can be explained through this idea of unity, in a way similar to the idea of harmony. Based on Andrew's theories (Which I support whole heartedly), when Elantrians go and dissolve in the pool, in what I believe to be Aona's pool, they join Aona. Their Splinter, or whatever it is that gives them their power, returns to her, thus they have unity with her. I like to think of it in the Dula way of the Dor. It is the life force that motivates all, and as you die, the life force returns, and has unity with the rest of the Dor. I also felt like the Fall of Elantris, and all the broken Aons were caused by a disunity with the geography. It's evidenced in the religions and in certain aspects of the magic, plus Shuden talks about Unity specifically, so I think it has a decent chance of being the right name.
  7. Rereading Elantris currently whilst my little bro reads TWoK.

  8. Hmm... the only thing I've got is to maybe include a list of which books are part of the cosmere. (published or unpublished, and written or simply planned). Also, are you planning on doing this in true, cohesive guide format, or will it be more of a FAQ?
  9. This Christmas ranks as #1 for me, recieving the Mistborn trilogy, Elantris, Warbreaker, TWoK, Alcatraz 1,2, and 3, and a ukulele! It's all I need in life. ;D
  10. (Spoilers) Maybe the common theme of indirect worship is something related to Rayse, and was caused in Shu-Dereth because of Rayse's visit to Opelon. Just a thought. Brandon has said that he strongly relates the themes in his books to the cosmere part of them (or something of the sort).
  11. Umm, I'm not sure whether to classify this as a prediction or a suggestion to Brandon, but how amazing would it be if the entire Stormlight Archive were a ketek? Meaning he would finish the series with a book focusing on Kaladin, and then the second book and second to last would have the same focus character, etc. It'd be insane from a stylistic point of view.
  12. What exactly is the reason behind the naming of this work of art? Brandon used the whole "Mistborn" naming very creatively ( ), so I think it's very probable that this series title may also have importance. My theory: With the highstorms rumored to be a kind of left over of The Almighty's power, and highstorms are used to infuse gems with stormlight, is it also safe to assume that stormlight is a physical representation of The Almighty? I believe so! I believe this series to be about The Almighty. There, I said it. It's a bold move to guess at the main subject this early on, but if you think about it, it would make sense. I'm not saying it's about him as the protagonist, just indirectly, and about his influence in the story and how his power affects the characters lives. Anyway, I think he'll play a marginally bigger role than might be assumed. The time is now yours to discuss, dissect, and discredit. ;D
  13. Pfft. You undead types is all the same to us. (What would one call someone who is prejudice against undead? Lifeist? Undeadist? Necroist? I think "necroism" sounds best of those) Post-biologist? while that actually sounds kinda cool, it actually probably sounds too much like it would be someone's job "So, what do you do for a living?" "Heh. Sorry, I just found the wording there funny. I... uh... hate the undead. The pay kinda sucks." "so do you get health benefits?" *gives blank stare*
  14. We've all assumed that The Almighty from TWoK was a holder of a shard of Adonalsium(Honor). We also know that he is dead, presumably killed by Odium, another 'shard holder.' So what happened to The Almighty's shard? Was it consumed by Odium? Or, my guess, it is now its own entity, seeking an owner. I can see some kind of whole Hero Of Ages search type thing later in the series, with one character (maybe one we've met already?) becoming the Honor, like Sazed did with Preservation and Ruin. So I guess the point of this post is mainly to ask, do you think something like this is possible/ probable, and if so what character would you want to be the new part of Adonalsium? I for one am on team Szeth. ;D

    Redshift?

Also, if one allomancer burned cadmium, and another bendalloy (at an equal rate) while standing twenty feet from each other, each creating a bubble with a fifteen foot radius, would the overlap cancel out the time change? In application, you could use that to comabat the effects. That or it'd be a purple bubble, and break the space time continuum. :'( I wuv'd that continuum.
  16. Awkwardspren- takes the shape of a turtle Musicspren- takes on an ambient colorful appearances, but varies greatly depending on the emotion of the music
  17. I'm not sure I'd want it to be MY talent, but sweating profusely is one that would have many uses. I'd rather have something akin to always missing things that are thrown to me.
  18. Sigur Ros. It's basically the best mix of pop-classical-ambient-and rock music ever, plus it's in Icelandic so it's not distracting word wise at all. But in all seriousness, read an allomantic battle sequence while listening to i ger. It's absolutely perfect.
  19. Gah, I need another hint! ???

    Mistings

Tin all the way. When Spook becomes a savant, I was converted to the ways of tin.
  21. Do what you want 'cause a pirate is free, you are a pirate! Also, can I put in a request for a regeneralization in this clan? I'm a pirate orangutan, which is a primate, but not technically a monkey, so...
  22. It seems that I, The Holy First Witness, have joined your forums. Watch in awe as I quickly ascend the heirarchy, and become a shardbearer! Mwah ha ha! You can thank me later. Totally kidding, I'm just a BS fan like the rest of you, the main difference being that I read his books backwards originally and thus understand them twice as much, if you have any questions on how ycnamolla works or who Dioh is, I'm totally willing to fill you guys in. ;D
  23. I'm pretty sure they're called chemings, unless I misunderstood Brandon when I asked him about this. And Cadmium or Bendalloy would be my choice, assuming that they are related to their allomantic uses and can store time.
