  1. Wow, we're getting creative here. Case 1: All three of them would get X's message. Case 2: Z (the one using the Reverse Lashing) would receive one of the three messages at random. Case 3: That would be a really uncommon occurrence, but Z would steal the message sent to Y, and Y would steal the message sent to Z.
  2. Tied votes will result in no lynch. Since we only have 10 people signed up, and so that everyone can get ready, I've moved back the end of sign-ups to Sunday. Hopefully, by then, there will be enough people to begin. At the very least, I'd like 18 people signed up. However, the game will run much smoothly with more, so don't be afraid to sign up!
  3. First, because not everyone lives in the United States. Second, I’m getting to it. Third, no, I asked, that’s just GM awesomeness. Ren rode in the carriage back towards Keep Gardre. He arrived late, but was surprised to see that nobody, save the Jain brothers and that pompous Lady Cett, had shown up. Where is everyone? Well, I don’t want this cycle to be as discussion-light as the last one. Unfortunately, by the amount of discussion so far, that looks like where we’re headed. So, time to get the ball rolling. Right now, based on yesterday’s voting patterns, I’m suspicious of a few people. Jae, mostly, since I feel he was the first one to get the Bandwagon Train heading out of the station. The other person I feel we should be careful with is Mesist, due to his desire to get Tonul lynched. It’s not really the fact that Tonul turned out to be a Noble, but more of the fact that he kept trying to put suspicion on one target. He should know better than to do that. The only real evidence I saw given to Tonul's suspiciousness was his vote alteration on Day One. I can't say that I find Mesist really suspicious, but we shouldn't go ahead and trust every word he says, which seems to be one of the causes of yesterday's lynch. Right now, I’d really like to know what Ashette’s “plan” was, why Cat stepped down from House Lord, and what Jae’s exonerating information on Cat is. I'd also like lots of discussion in general. Honestly, the lack of discussion in here is getting so bad, that I had to start running my own game so I wouldn't get bored to death.
  4. Rule clarifications time! (Most of this will be added above.) There are two Windrunners, two Skybreakers, and one Truthwatcher. Each Windrunner can recruit a player each day. If both Windrunners recruit the same player, one of their actions is wasted (the target player will still be recruited). Windrunners cannot see the Squire doc, since the first players to go into the Squire doc would instantly know who the Windrunners are and potentially ruin the game. Both Skybreakers may make kills each cycle. Combined with the lynch, that’s potentially three kills per cycle. Depending on the number of people who sign up, I might restrict the Skybreakers so that only one of them may make a kill each cycle. But, for now, both Skybreakers can use Division. Each Skybreaker cannot, however, use both Division and a Reverse Lashing the same cycle. The Truthwatcher’s Progression ability can protect them from being lynched or taking Division damage. The cycle they are attacked, they are immune to other damage, and survive. So, if the Truthwatcher is lynched, but is also attacked by the surge of Division the same day, they won’t die. However, they will be revealed in the write-up as a Truthwatcher, since their Progression ability has been used up. Each player can only send one Message to the GM each cycle. Here's an example of how Messaging works. Let's say that Nale sent a PM to the GM, to be sent to Jezrien, and wrote: “Yo, Jez. Watch your back. Sincerely, Nale.” That exact message would be PMed to Jezrien (via the GM) at the beginning of the following cycle. The GM will not confirm or deny whether Nale actually sent that message, or if another player sent that message, pretending to be Nale. Now, let’s say that Lopen came and used a Reverse Lashing on Jezrien. Nale’s message to Jezrien would be stolen, and, instead, Lopen would receive Nale’s message. Jezrien would not be PMed that Message, but Lopen would. If Lopen used a Reverse Lashing on Nale, it will not steal the message that Nale sent. Reverse Lashings can only steal one Message sent to a particular player. As to the setting, Telmont is up at the Northern/Stormward part of Alethela, at the mouth of Hoel Bay. Since it is located on the Stormward side of Alethela, it is prone to extremely powerful highstorms and lots of flooding. I can move back the sign-ups until next Sunday, if that’s okay with everyone. It’ll give me more time to get everything together for the game, and allow more players to die in LG 7 and sign up and get ready.
  5. [Reserved for Rule clarifications] Pre-Game Clarifications There are two Windrunners, two Skybreakers, and one Truthwatcher. Each Windrunner can recruit a player each day. Reverse Lashings can only steal one Message sent to a particular player. Tied lynch votes will result in no lynch. If multiple Reverse Lashings are used on the same player, all of those players using Reverse Lashings will steal the same Message. If a player receives multiple Messages, and a player uses a Reverse Lashing on them, one Message will be chosen at random to steal.
  6. Mid-Range Game 2 is beginning! I’d like to have as many people as possible signed up for this game (the more, the merrier!). Sign-ups will run until next Sunday, 9PM EST Thursday, 10PM EST. You are in the small coastal town of Telmont in Alethela, one of the old Silver Kingdoms. The Knights Radiant have begun to return, which can mean only one thing: a Desolation is coming. Determined to stop yet another Desolation, the Skybreakers have arrived to purge the town of Surgebinders. The Windrunners must recruit Squires to defeat the Skybreakers, before all of the town’s Knights Radiant are killed. Lynch votes are done in-thread. Votes sent via PM will not be accepted. Lynching reveals a player's role, alignment, and abilities. Skybreaker kills do the same. You may not directly PM any other players in this game. However, each cycle (including the first), you may use the “Messaging” ability (see below). All players that do not post anything in the thread for a cycle receive an extra vote against them for that cycle. (This is to encourage people to be more active. This rule does not apply to the first cycle, since there is no vote.) Each cycle will be a Day Turn, lasting 48 hours long. The first cycle has no actions or votes, other than the Windrunners, who can only recruit Squires that cycle. Also, all players can also use the Messaging ability the first cycle. The rollover time is 10PM EST. Player Roles Darkeyes: You are a regular, lowly, darkeyed citizen. You have grown comfortable with the Windrunners’ presence, but the Skybreakers put you on edge. You feel as if it is your duty to stop the Skybreakers and their henchmen. You have no special abilities, but you feel special on the inside. Plus, the Windrunners may choose you to be one of their loyal Squires. Windrunner: You are a Knight Radiant trained in the surges of Gravitation and Adhesion. Each day, along with voting, you may recruit one person as a squire (via PM to the GM), and you can use one of the three Lashings (see below). There are 2 Windrunners, and you are also told the name of your fellow Windrunner (but not the name of the Truthwatcher). The first cycle, both Windrunners will have a Google doc set up between them in which they can discuss plans. After that cycle, the doc is broken and messages can only be sent to one another using the Messaging ability. Truthwatcher: You are an order of the Knights Radiant trained in the surges of Progression and Illumination. With Progression, you automatically save yourself from death once, preventing all attacks from killing you that cycle. However, you will be revealed in the next write-up as a Truthwatcher. You may also use the surge of Illumination each day (see below). There is only 1 Truthwatcher. Squire: You are a servant of the Windrunners, chosen by them to do their bidding. Once you are recruited, you randomly receive the ability of one of the three Lashings, and are inducted into the Squire Google doc. A player that has been recruited as a Squire retains their previous alignment and win conditions. Any player can be taken as a Squire and put into the Squire doc (except Windrunners), but only darkeyes and henchmen will actually receive an ability. No players begin the game as Squires. Skybreaker: You are an order of the Knights Radiant, trained in the surges of Gravitation and Division. You feel that the return of the Knights Radiant will bring about another Desolation. Your goal is to kill both of the Windrunners and the Truthwatcher. Each turn, you may use the surge of Division, or a Reverse Lashing. The Skybreakers and henchmen have a Google doc to plot on for the first cycle only. After the first cycle, the doc is broken, and messages can only be sent to one another via the Messaging ability. Henchman: You are a servant of the Skybreakers. You have no role-based abilities at the beginning of the game. However, if you are taken as a Squire, you retain your alliance and goal with the Skybreakers, and you receive one of the Lashings and you access to the Squire doc. You also have access to the Skybreaker doc for the first cycle. Abilities Each day, the actions will take effect in the following order: (1) Full Lashings; (2) Basic Lashings & Reverse Lashings; (3) Lynch; (4) Division; (5) Squire Recruits; (6) Illumination & Messaging Basic Lashing: Protects someone of your choice from getting killed by the surge of Division for the current day. If the person you protected would have been attacked by Division, that person’s name will be revealed in the write-up. Cannot protect yourself, and cannot be used two days in a row. Full Lashing: Blocks another player’s abilities and vote for the current day. If a Full Lashing is used to cancel Division (or any other abilities), it will not be mentioned in the next day's write-up. Cannot be used two days in a row, and does not block Message actions. Reverse Lashing: Allows you to target a player, and steal one Message that they would have received. That player will not receive the Message, but you will, at the beginning of the following cycle. Cannot be used two days in a row. Division: Allows you to choose one target to kill each day. Illumination: Allows you to choose 1 person to spy on. This person's alignment (but not their role) is revealed to you in a PM the next day. You also discern whether or not they are currently a Squire. Squire Recruit: The Windrunners’ special ability, which allows them to recruit one player as a Squire each cycle. The Windrunners can still use one of the three Lashings and Message another player each cycle they use this. Messaging: A free ability that allows any player to PM the GM, telling them a message they would like delivered to a target player at the beginning of the following cycle. The message will be delivered anonymously. Win Conditions: If both Skybreakers are killed, then the “villagers” (Windrunners, Truthwatcher, and darkeyes) win. If the Truthwatcher and both Windrunners are killed, then the Skybreakers and henchmen win. Squires win as the team they are aligned with. So, that’s the game. If anyone wants any further rule clarifications, please say so in this thread. Good luck, everyone! Quick Links:
  7. Ren grimaced as he and Bamin stepped on the barge, frowning at Mesist as he greeted them onboard. Why had the man made them walk an unnecessary length just to get down to these barges? And how was one supposed to have a ball outdoors? While it was only the third ball he’d been to, Ren had enough sense to realize that an outdoor ball was a horrible idea. Bamin frowned as he led Ren to a table. “You’d better not try anything like yesterday,” he scolded. “The only thing making you a bigger target was if you were wearing an orange shirt on your back.” Ren glanced over at Fien Urbain, who was wearing his ridiculous orange shirt and doing some sort of strange dance move only he would do. “Look, I’m sorry about what I did yesterday,” Ren sighed. “I know it’ll make your job of protecting me a lot more difficult than it already is, but I felt it was necessary.” Bamin frowned at Ren, almost seeming angry. “I know you’re trying to help, Ren. But you’re far too inexperienced for politics and whatnot. Now tell me, did you go to that Informant last night?” Ren glanced to the side. “Yes…” Bamin sighed, frustrated. “Ren, I thought I told you…” “It’s not my fault!” Ren whispered frantically. “I mean, that Hoid fellow turned out to be right yesterday, so I figured that…” “Informants aren’t the most trustworthy people, I hope you realize,” Bamin scolded. “Did he tell you someone else is a skaa today? I hope we won’t have to go through that same performance again.” “No,” Ren sighed. “The informant only told me –“ “I don’t care what he told you!” Bamin glared. “And I don’t want you going around, telling people about what that… Hoid said to you. Informants are not to be trusted, and it would be best if you stayed away from them.” Bamin looked at Ren, composing himself. “Stay safe now, Ren.” Ren nodded back as Bamin turned around and walked away. So much has changed these past few days, Ren thought. But Bamin is right. I really shouldn’t make myself such a great target. I don’t want to end up the same way my father did… Ren sighed. I have confirmation from the Informant that Aonar is of House Morinthe, in case anyone needs that. Anyhow, the amount of inactivity in this game is getting embarrassing. We really need to fix that, since information is still as crucial as ever at this point. Also, it’s very easy for the skaa to hide in a large group of inactives. So, I’m going to vote for Wandrin, who hasn’t posted anything since Day One. We still need to try and get some discussion going. However, we do need to be careful as to what information we reveal in-thread. While I’m considering a lot of what everyone has said so far, not a lot of it seems to be incriminating. Here’s one thing I noticed, though: Sylinia revealed Asyr, a Semi-Great House Lord, as a coinshot yesterday. Now, I’d think that would’ve made him a huge target (which is why we need to be careful with revealing information; I saw no reason for Asyr to be revealed as a coinshot). Now, my question is: why was Cadri killed rather than Asyr? There are a few explanations I can think of, but I’d like to see what you people think.
  8. Alright, that’s a lot of Informant shenanigans going around. Let me see if I can make any sense out of them. Racine has three pieces of information that we’ve learned: She’s a Tineye, skaa, and used her metal on QuiteLeftInch. There are a couple explanations I see for this. First is that she is a skaa who didn’t say anything about herself to the Informant, and we received three different facts from the GM. Don't know how likely that is. It is possible she didn't go to the Informant to receive information about Kassel, but instead received that information from one of her doc-mates. On the other hand, I feel that she was set up by the skaa yesterday. Her vote was Soothed (more about this below), probably to attract attention and get people to use Informant actions on her. But in that case, assuming none of us are lying about our Information, it would mean that Racine used a Truth action (she's a Tineye), and two other players lied about her (she's a skaa, and she used an ability on QuiteLeftInch). I really have no idea what to make of that. Some discussion from different players could help us find the truth (and Lies) here. Jain: What I think happened here is that he put a Truth into the Informant: “I cannot kill.” Since that’s not useful to the Informant, the action was discarded and nothing happened. (It'd be nice if he confirmed whether or not he got any information.) Okay, I’ve been holding on to the other Informant info I received, because I wanted to see how the first one went over. Seeing how the events have transpired, I refer you to this: The second fact I got from the Informant is that Aonar is a Soother. Make of that what you will.
  9. Ren blinked in stunned silence, looking over at the other Nobles in the Raisaal ballroom. Their faces were worn and sullen after hearing the news: another House Lord had been killed. Ren shook his head, shivering in fear. First Lord Heron, now Lady Elariel? Ren glanced around the room, trying to catch the gaze of some of the other Nobles. Trying to gauge their suspicions. He couldn’t trust that all of these Nobles were who they said they were. Not after what that informant had told him earlier. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ren had never spoken with an informant before. But, considering that House Heron had decided to invite him to a second ball, he thought that maybe he should get caught up on what the other Nobles were up to. And the best way of doing so was going to one of the city’s Informants. Hoid, his name was. Ren wasn’t sure how the informant had known that he was looking for information, or how the man had found him in the first place. Ren was walking outside after last night’s ball, enjoying the feel of the mists, when the man hobbled around the corner, saying, “Need some information, young sir? While I’m almost completely blind, I hear everything that goes around in this city.” Ren blinked. “Um, sure. I’d like to know what’s going on with-” “Woah, woah, woah, hold your horses, pal,” Hoid said, squinting at Ren. “You give me some information about yourself, first. Then, I’ll give you the information you want.” Ren sighed. “Fine.” ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ren now hoped that Hoid fellow was trustworthy. He figured that, since the man was practically blind, it was doubtful he could even see who Ren was. And he shouldn’t even know Ren that well, seeing as he was the distant relative of the Lord of a lesser-known House. Then again, he seemed to know a lot of things he shouldn’t. Maybe he was secretly a Tineye or Seeker. Ren shivered again. He’d have to be more careful with what he did from now on. Why? Ren thought, pouting. Why did Lord Heron bring me into all of this? Nobody even knew about me before yesterday’s ball. Is this my father’s fault? Or… maybe they found out that I’m a misting. I wouldn’t doubt their House has a few Seekers in it. Ren paused. I definitely need to be more careful. Ren glanced up at Bamin, who was fiddling with one of his earrings, looking distracted. “Another dead Lord, Bamin. What do you think it means?” Bamin snapped out of his trance, looking towards Ren. “Mmm… the skaa are definitely up to some shenanigans. Trying to start a House War, my guess would be. These things happen every hundred years or so. Skaa kill the important members of Houses, trying to flare up tensions and sow chaos.” “Who do you think is behind it?” Ren asked nervously. “Someone in here?” Bamin shrugged noncommittally. “I couldn’t say. But I would suggest you be very careful with what you do, Ren. Don’t attract too much attention, and don’t trust anyone. You’re here because House Heron requested your presence again, not to make friends or treaties or anything like that. Any alliances you make are another reason for someone to stab you in the back.” “But what of the skaa? Lord Heron wants us to find them, doesn’t he?” Bamin nodded. “Do what you can, but don’t get too involved. I am here for your protection. Making yourself a bigger target isn’t going to help either of us.” “But if we don’t find the skaa…” “The skaa are a threat, yes. But the other Nobles here are doing the best they can do deal with them. You are inexperienced. I honestly don’t know why House Heron even wants you here. They should know that you have no place in politics.” Ren smiled grimly, surveying the room again. The Terrisman stewards were leaving the ballroom, going to… wherever they went during these balls. “Guess you should get going, then,” Ren sighed. Bamin nodded. “Stay safe,” he replied, walking away. Ren walked over to one of the tables, trying to focus on the events that had transpired the past day or so. That informant, the death of Lady Elariel… in House Kastner’s gardens. Ren pondered that. Why would Lady Elariel be walking in House Kastner’s gardens? Seemed like something set-up by the skaa. It seemed that they were trying to create another House War. In that case, the Nobles would have to act quickly, but think rationally. Ren stood up, opening his mouth. Should I do it? he asked. “Um… hello!” Ren announced to the ballroom. Everyone quieted. “You may not know me that well, but I went to an informant yesterday, and I got something back from him that might be of interest to you.” Ren stopped, taking a deep breath. “He said that Lady Racine… is a skaa.” So, I went to the Informant, and he told me that Racine's a skaa. My guess is that someone used a Lie action on her. But, if we do lynch her, it’ll give us some proof as to what the skaa’s plan is. So is it worth a lynch? I'd like to hear what all of you think.
  10. Okay, time to talk about voting shenanigans, because I've come up with a few things that I feel are important about this game's votes. First of all, there’s no way we can guarantee getting a no-lynch today (or any day, really), if any of you feel like we should do so. We could in the past few games, with little/no vote-blocking roles, but in this game, I’d imagine that we have somewhere around 4-5 soothers/rioters (if the roles were distributed evenly, and that’s not counting Mistborn), as well as a kandra. So votes are almost certainly going to end up being very skewed by the end of the cycle. However, if we plan our votes out well enough, we might be able to use this to our advantage and start discerning which skaa and Houses have access to vote-altering abilities. Now, the problem I see here with these vote-changing roles: unlike the Nobles, the skaa players have access to two “allied” teams: the skaa, and the House they’re in. So if it comes down to a close lynch, since each skaa will be part of two groups, they will have a greater chance of garnering vote-support (either through actual votes or zinc/brass) and surviving. I don’t really know how we can prevent this, other than going full-on bandwagon, which is a bad idea, unless we’re certain that player’s a skaa. But what I’m saying is that, if it ends up being a close lynch (before vote-altering shenanigans/kandra), we need to see where those votes go. Also, I'd like to encourage people to voice their opinions about how we should go about playing the game. RP is nice, but it's not going to help us find or lynch the skaa. We need new ideas from everyone (sans skaa) so we can formulate a plan to succeed. Not as individual Houses, but as the Noble faction. If you have any thoughts of trying to win as an individual House, get those thoughts out of your head. We only need to look back on MR 1 to see what that got us in. If someone's trying to get it into your head to win solely as a House, rather than as the Nobles, KILL THEM!!! Okay, maybe not, but don’t listen to them. Believe me, it’s a bad idea. The skaa are just as great a threat, if not more of one, in this game as in any previous game, and if we work as individual Houses, we’ll get little done.
  11. Ren tried to remain calm. Unfortunately, he was quaking noticeably in fear. So the skaa were assassinating the Nobility. Even though Ren knew he, of all people, would be unlikely to be targeted, he was still very worried. The skaa wouldn’t be that bold, would they? The Lord Ruler condemned the skaa as the lower class; a mindless race of slaves for the Nobility. Surely, a thousand years after his ascension, the skaa would know their place in society. Apparently, though, they were now trying to kill the Nobles. What could they possibly gain from this? Ren thought in frustration. The Lord Ruler will just kill them all either way. How do they not realize this? Ren made his way around the ballroom, but could tell that many of the other Nobles were just as nervous. A few introduced themselves, and Ren replied with his own name and a faint smile. As Ren walked around, a few names he heard popped up several times: Fien Urbain, Mesist A’Lees, Cadri Raisaal. It seemed as though these three had a certain animosity going for each other… well, mostly towards Fien. Either way, Ren thought it'd be a good idea to stay away from those three, as to not get involved with something he shouldn’t. Ren sat down at an empty table, his head in his hands. Would it be best to stay an anonymous, lesser Noble, or should he try and do something to stop this? Ren flinched. No, getting involved so early was crazy. He didn’t even know a tenth of the people in this room yet, no way could he try to figure out who was skaa. Ren stood up, thinking carefully. Well, I’ll see what I can do. I don’t want to make any enemies, but getting some strong House ties could be useful at this point. Ren sighed. Ah, where’s Bamin when I need him? Sorry I took so long to post this. I do unfortunately have a life outside the Seventeenth Shard. Anyhow, I agree that we need to be as active in this thread as possible, as it should help us determine who is skaa and who is not. The good news is that we now have over 48 hours to get some information and suspicions in order. However, we still need to make the most of that time frame. As with MR 1, I’m definitely advocating for House unity. It’ll give us the best chance of taking out the skaa, which is our priority right now. I’d rather end up as a weak House in the end than one ruled by the skaa. I'll post some more later, once I get some more information from the rest of you. A House divided against itself cannot stand. -Some tall guy with a top hat.
  12. Alright, alright, I’ll join. I’m just glad that no horses have signed up this time. Ren Gardre had never been invited to a ball before. The distant relative to the lord of a little-known House, Ren had trouble believing he was special. Sure, he was a Noble, not one of those lowly skaa, but in the world of the Nobility, he was practically nothing. A tiny island in an ocean of fame and power. Practically worthless. Ren anxiously looked out the window of his carriage, seeing Keep Heron in all of its magnificence. “Lord Ruler,” Ren breathed in awe. The keep was gigantic, adorned with dozens of stained-glass windows, and so many steeples that it looked like a miniature version of Kredik Shaw itself. As his carriage approached the keep, Ren’s heart sank. There were a lot of carriages lined up in front of the keep. Dozens. Ren wouldn’t be surprised if there were a few hundred. Apparently, he was even less special than he thought he was. The carriage slowed down and stopped in front of the keep’s gates, and Ren’s Terris steward promptly opened up his door. “Thank you, good Bamin,” Ren said, grinning nervously as he stepped down from the carriage. The terrisman nodded, glancing around furtively. He wasn’t wearing his spectacles. That was odd, especially since they were outside. “What’s the matter?” Ren asked, looking at the tall steward. “Did you forget your glasses?” “This situation worries me,” Bamin replied, putting a hand on Ren’s shoulder protectively. Was it just Ren’s imagination, or did Bamin’s arms seem to have grown more bulky and muscular? “I’m worried, too,” Ren said, frowning. “But I suppose everybody is a bit jumpy during their first ball.” “But this isn’t my first ball,” Bamin sighed. “Back before you were born, when I was your father’s steward, I traveled with him to balls held all over Luthadel, many held by the Great Houses.” Ren looked at Bamin, who still had his hand on Ren’s shoulder. “My father…” Ren breathed. “He was a far more important man than I could ever become. But… how did he do it?” “Do what?” “How did my father become such a popular man? Invited to all of those balls, meetings… And he was only a member of a lesser house.” Bamin looked down, letting go of Ren’s shoulder to finger one of the large Terris earrings he wore. “Your father… was a very charismatic man. He made any ball interesting with his presence. And even though he knew he was of no particular import in the grand scheme of things, he did his best to get House Gardre’s name out to the Nobility of Luthadel. But after his… death, well, people just seemed to forget about him. These things happen a lot after assassinations. It’s just a lot of House politics.” Ren’s eyebrows creased in frustration. “Bleah. Politics. Bad.” Bamin nodded, and gestured for Ren to start walking towards the keep’s entrance. “Hopefully, since you are new on the scene, nobody will try to get you involved in any alliances or things like that. Unfortunately, considering that practically all of Luthadel is here… well, who knows what will happen.” Ren shivered. “I’m not in any danger, am I? There have been rumors of skaa…” “Yes, yes, skaa assassinations. Shouldn’t be anything to worry about, as the skaa would not kill someone as new and inexperienced to politics as you are. Consider your anonymity to be working in your favor, Ren.” “So are you saying that I shouldn’t try to stand out? Unlike my father?” Bamin sighed. “In this case… I have no idea. House Heron is not one to host balls that often, so I have a feeling there is some ulterior motive in mind tonight. Try to stay low, but introduce yourself if anyone asks. That’s all I can tell you.” The two filed into place behind the dozens of Nobles waiting to enter the keep. Ren could hear the sounds of loud chatter and music within, and felt another pang of fear. So many people, Ren thought in terror. Ren turned his head to look at Bamin, who stood behind him, smiling encouragingly. Ren smiled back wanly, and strode on ahead into the ballroom.
  13. "Bah," Gade frowned. "You know what I love about being dead? Watching the living be endlessly entertaining with their perpetual escapades. So, if you don't mind, I'm just going to sit back and watch how this plays out. I apologize for any inconvenience this causes." Suddenly, a group of blue, 10-foot tall beasts charged past him, heading for a group of advancing Trollocs. "Wait... Koloss?" Gade pondered aloud. "Well, I guess we're not bothering going canon anymore, so it must be time to... UNLEASH THE CELLAR!" Gade suddenly dashed through Drell’s Crossing, ignoring the weary villagers that he ran past, who were fighting for their lives, and had been for many, many hours. Eventually, he reached it. The Spruce Thicket. The cover for the Cellar, the force of destruction itself. Which… apparently had a large waffle sign protruding out of it. Well, no matter. Gade busted open the wooden door, and ran to the back of the inn, where there was a discrete set of rickety stairs. Gade vaulted down the stairs, and found himself in the cellar. No, no, not the Cellar, but must a regular old cellar. However, the entrance to the Cellar would be somewhere in the room. Gade shifted a stack of wooden crates, and found the entrance to the Cellar – a tiny mouse hole in the bottom of the wall, covered by a tiny metal door. Gade frantically searched his pockets until he found the key to the Cellar. He inserted the key into the mouse hole, and turned it. Wisps of pure darkness floated up from the mouse hole, an infinitely dark shade of black. I’M FREE! a voice boomed, shaking the inn to its core. THE CELLAR REIGNS!!! Gade had released the force of destruction on the world. He had only a few hours to do what he wanted before resealing the Cellar. Gade breathed in the wisps of darkness. And became Awesome. Gade zipped up the stairs impossibly fast, slammed out the Spruce Thicket’s door, and returned to the battle. “Alright, ye trolls. You’ve had your fun, but now… you’re dead.” Darkness streamed off of Gade, coalescing to form a giant hand in front of him. The hand blocked the advancing Trollocs, and backhanded them with a super-powerful slap, knocking them out cold. The hand formed a fist, and smashed down on some of the other Trollocs, flattening them. Then, the hand disappeared, puffing into more wisps of darkness, which Gade inhaled again. “I’m going to need some backup,” Gade muttered, realizing that the Trollocs were beginning to surround him. “Well, best to have the element of surprise here. RELEASE THE KRAKEN!!!” The darkness coalesced into a gigantic kraken, which appeared directly over a large group of Trollocs, thumping down on the solid ground and squashing several of them flat. The kraken, trapped on land, flopped around for several seconds before going still. “Well, that failed rather horribly,” Gade sighed, looking at the fallen kraken. “But if there’s one thing I know, it’s that I can learn from my mistakes. RELEASE THE LOCH NESS MONSTER!!! …No, wait!” Too late, the darkness coalesced into a gigantic loch ness monster, which appeared directly over a large group of Trollocs, thumping down on the solid ground and squashing several of them flat. Nessie, trapped on land, flopped around for several seconds before going still. “You know what, that shouldn’t even count. That was… an accident. Uh, yes. Obviously. So, um… let’s see… RELEASE THE GIANT FRUIT BAT!!!” The darkness coalesced into a gigantic fruit bat, which immediately dove for a nearby cart full of melons. “Oh, come on now! This is just getting embarrassing. How about killer bunnies, then?” The darkness coalesced to form several dozen small, furry, bloodthirsty rabbits. Each of them lunged towards the Trollocs, moving impossibly fast, and shredded the Trollocs to bits. Gade’s eyes widened. “That is terrifying,” he whispered, watching row upon row of Trolloc get annihilated by the killer bunnies. They were practically unstoppable. “Alright, let’s make sure these Trollocs stay dead.” The darkness swirled around Gade, until it formed a perfect sphere around him. Gade rushed towards a large group of Trollocs, and the ball of darkness around him cut cleanly through them, causing the Trollocs to vaporize into mist. At the center of the Trolloc horde, Gade summoned the darkness towards him, and made it coalesce into a pair of giant swords. The Trollocs approached, and Gade struck, moving lightning-fast and slicing them to bits with his duel-wield swords. Trolloc upon Trolloc fell down, cut in half by the enormous black swords. MWAHAHA!!! a deep voice boomed, emanating from the Cellar. The Cellar was going to be released to destroy the world soon if Gade didn’t hurry up. “Fine,” sighed Gade, “time for my vanishing act.” Gade summoned all of the darkness that was available to him into the palms of his hands. His hands seemed to radiate darkness, distorting the air itself. As a number of Trollocs moved towards him, each in a line, Gade extended his hands. Black lightning shot out, vaporizing everything in its path. Dozens upon dozens of Trollocs disappeared without a trace. “Alright, I think I’ve been Awesome enough for today,” Gade said, smiling. He summoned the dark tendrils of dark darkness, and breathed them in again, rushing back towards the Spruce Thicket to put the darkness back in the Cellar. If you're wondering why "Cellar" has been capitalized in several of the write-ups... this is why. Just something we thought of in the Dead doc. The Cellar is basically an infinitely-dark alternative universe where there are gigantic beasts of myths and legends, and other dark and scary things.
  14. Big surprise: I’m lynching Captain Crushthroat. And since we’ve already got the majority and the grappling hook, you should too! Riingar crashed through the side window of the Captain’s quarters, letting go of the rope that he had used to swing down from the crow’s nest. He landed in a crouch, his right, peg-legged foot forward. After the crew tried to kill him last night, Riingar had been forced to replace his scarred leg with a large wooden dowel. Plus, he always wanted a peg-leg. All the cool pirates had one. “Ye want’d ta find me, cap’n?” Riingar asked with a sneer. “Well here I be! Th’ rest o’ yer loyal crew did a good job o’ tryin’ ta get me, but I’ve dealt with mutineers b’fore in me days as a cap’n. So I’ve learned how ta think like one.” Riingar grabbed a hidden dagger from his sleeve and fell into place next to Hreo. Suddenly, several loud knocks came from the door, which was grappled shut. Riingar frowned, turning and looking through a knothole in the door. Jatae stood on the other side. Riingar released the grappling hook from the door and opened it, allowing Jatae to barrel in, holding a metal tray. “Arr,” sighed Riingar. “I thought I told ye th’ door would be locked.” The captain hefted his axe uneasily, staring at the three mutineers with an emotion that was a cross between utter surprise and outright fury. “Oh, you think this will end any differently than it did with Paan? Just because there’s three of you, you think that will make the outcome any better?” Kiin lowered his axe, pointing it towards the mutineers. “I’ve had far more experience with fighting and battling than any of you scallywags. Especially you.” Kiin pointed the axe at Jatae, making him blink. “So I’ll give you this one last chance to walk away. Otherwise, you’re fish food.” Riingar growled at the captain. The man he hated more than anyone else in the world. “I been a cap’n b’fore, Crushy. An’ I will b’come one again. Don’ get a big head jus’ cause ye kill’d Paan. Just ‘cause ye got yer fancy axe don’ mean yer a match fer us. An’ we be willin’ ta risk our lives ta kill ye, Crushy. So are we goin’ ta have ta kill ye th’ easy way, orrr th’ hard way?” “You will never defeat me, scum,” Kiin snarled. “I am disgusted to even think about what you would do to this crew if you were to take over. But I’m not going to lay down my arms and go out like a coward. So I accept your challenge, scallywags. This will be a fight to the death.” Riingar shrugged, grinning. “If ye say so, Crushy. An’ by th’ way, thanks fer all th’ loot ye’ve giv’n us as motivation. Now I be takin’ charge as a wealthy cap’n! Anyway, Hreo, take ‘im down.” Hreo aimed his grappling hook at Kiin. Ooh, cliffhanger! I guess you’ll just have to wait for the write-up to see how this ends up.
  15. No, ye do not need to figure anything out, because thar be nothin' ta figure out! Ye be doom’d, don’t ye realize it? A much bett’r idea be ta lynch th’ cap’n so we can get this over with quickly. Oth’rwise, I be havin’ ta kill one o’ ye tonight, an’ I don’ think any o’ ye want ta die. So, I be leavin’ this deal open: We lynch ol’ Cap’n Crushy tonight, an’ I’ll give ye all some free trinkets fer all o’ yer troubles! Let’s see, we got a compass… a map… um… see, if ye just would lynch th’ Cap’n, all o’ this amazin’ stuff be yers! An’ if ye don’ go along, I’ll keelhaul th’ lot o’ ye. Tell ye what, if I be in yer boots, ye know what I’d do? I’d lynch th’ cap’n. I mean, if yer goin’ to go out, ye might as well go out with dignity. Hon’rably. Like a Jindoeese Warrior. An’ also, I’d be verrry peeved if I had this perfectly good Buckler here, jus’ waitin’ ta be used, an’ ye just chose not ta lynch me an’ went with th’ captain instead. I woulda wasted all that loot I saved up ta buy it! So… why not teach me a lesson, by choosin’ ta not lynch me? Go with th’ cap’n. Yeah, that be a good idea. An’ I know ye don’ like th’ prospect o’ turnin’ on our cap’n, but we be pirates! We don’ follow th’ law anyways. So, ye can make a diff’rence in this crew, if ye would jus’ lynch th’ cap’n. B’lieve me herrrre, it be worth it in th’ long run. Especially ‘cause thar won’ be a long run fer ye if ye don’ try ta lynch th’ cap’n, if ye get me drift.
  16. Ahoy, me fellow crew! Jus’ lettin’ ye know, I be a bad, scurvy Mutineer! But instead o’ lynchin’ me (which won’t work ‘cause I’ve got a Buckler protectin’ me) why don’ ye just lynch Captain Crushthroat? He don’ run this place too good. I mean, nine o’ yer hearty crewmates be dead, an’ he’s barely even flinch’d. He don’ care ‘bout ye all, but if ye join us, ye will get yer rations increased by 0.1%! See, we care. But, see, if ye don’ comply, then that means ye will be the Mutineer, an’ then we’ll have ta lock ye in th’ Cellar*. A shame, really. But, ye can still enjoy yer time on the AonTeo by lynchin’ th’ cap’n! Yeah, why don’t ye do that? *Th’ Cellar be a-Reignin’! Don’t worry, me fellow Mutineer. Jus’ pretend ta fit in. I know what I’m doin’. I have a feelin’ that the rest o’ them scallywags ain’t gonna take me off’r lightly, an’ might choose ta lynch me ‘nstead. Oh well; their loss.
  17. Okay. Well, it doesn't look like my vote for Jeno is going to have any effect, and with a Mutineer last-minute captain-lynch (or my demise) being a real possibility here, I'm switching to Jain. For one thing, if his earlier post wasn't suspicious, I honestly don't know what is. If he's trying to troll, well, he's not really helping anyone at this point, so I don't think he cares. And still, Jeno and Wyrm maintain their votes against me, for no discernible reason. Jeno said he was suspicious of Jain, and yet he's sticking with me. Wyrm? He's had reasonably good points and evidence for voting for the people he has. And now, he's trying to lynch me without any discernible evidence? I sense a plot here...
  18. Ah, I've seen you've finally remodeled this place. I like the way these games are going! Okay, anyone else get the feeling this is looking incredibly suspicious? I mean, maybe it’s because I’m the one getting lynched, but I’ve seen absolutely no solid reasoning from Jeno (other than his Mutineer gut) as to why I should be killed. Wyrm has claimed that it’s for information, but at this stage in the game, I feel we should already have plenty of information to go off of. Plus, why have both Wyrm and Jeno voted for me, retracted their votes, and then voted again? In my opinion, this looks like a Mutineer bandwagon in the making. While I said I wouldn’t be against “bandwagons” for the sake of getting someone lynched, I am against rather unfounded bandwagons like this. And goin’ off a’ that, Jeno seems mighty suspicious right now. He be extremely unwillin’ ta change his votes from Jain an’ meself (an’ has suggested that everyone else do likewise), due ta his (Mutineer) gut feelin’. I don’ know ‘bout you, but that ain’t gonna cut it fer me. Now, this be a list o’ Wyrm an’ Jeno’s actions so farrr this cycle. List’n carefully (‘cause it be complicated). First, Jeno voted fer Jatae. Wyrm voted fer me. (Which made sense at th' time, thar be no harm done.) After I explained meself, Wyrm switched it ta Jeno, ‘cause he voted fer Jatel fer no reason. Then, Jeno used his so-called “gut-evidence” ta incriminate me (appar’ntly, usin’ th’ same trick as I did ta see who would bandwagon fer Jatel) an’ vote fer me. An’ then, since nobody else be votin’ fer me, he switched it ta Jain. Wyrm retracted his vote fer Jeno, an’ placed it on me, conveniently th’ only oth’r person that Jeno was suspicious of. Jeno voted fer me. Now, information be important, I grant that. But if we be lynchin’ fer information, it would’ve been nice ta do a few cycles ago, rather than now. This be why I’m worried. If we be lynchin’ someone who be loyal fer information, an’ they die by lynch today, an’ then anoth’r player be kill’d by the Mutineers, we be havin’ 6 people left. I be almost certain that thar be at least three Mutineers, so at that point, it'd be at least 3 ta 3. Th’ only way we be survivin’ in that case is if all o' the loyal crew vote fer the same player, get a correct lynch off, an' use th' grapplin' hook ev’ry day, or we get th’ axe an' don' hit th' wrong play'r. Neither o’ which be somethin’ we can count on. This be why we need ta vote fer our suspicions at this point ratherrr than fer information. I want’d ta lynch Riiii th’ past two cycles partially b’cause o’ th’ information we’d gain, but this be why I ain’t votin’ him this cycle.
  19. Uh... okay... I’m not entirely sure how solid your evidence is there, Jeno. I don’t see at all how the fact that I’m suspicious of everyone makes me a Mutineer. First of all, if you're referring to that list I made yesterday, I’ve already explained this twice now, but that is a list of everyone’s suspicions compiled for all of the remaining players. I don’t agree with a lot of the evidence in that list, but I put it up there for the sake of information and fairness. And while I give a reasonable amount of suspicion to everyone, I do find some people more suspect than others. But if we fail to direct some amount of suspicion towards everyone and instead decide to trust a few people with every word they say, then that gives the Mutineers an extraordinary opportunity to take advantage of us and lead us to our doom. Wyrm has also stated that he’s suspicious of everyone, so I don’t really see what sets him apart as less suspicious than me, using the evidence you’ve provided. And also, I have not been voting for Riiiii because his chart has been unhelpful. It has been a useful way of gauging his opinions, but the reasons for my votes the past two weeks have been mostly due to his votes and the actions and deaths of other players. I explained everything in my last post. In that case, yer gut be a Mutineerrrr.
  20. Alright, as to yesterday’s list of the suspicions against all of the remaining players, I’m pretty sure that I already clarified this in the post, but in case I did not, the majority of these suspicions were not mine, they were the suspicions of everyone compiled together. The points made by everyone as a community, so we could get a good view of how things stand. I was not the one to write the majority of those points, but I did leave all points brought up in there, no matter whether or not I agreed with them. But apparently, this misunderstanding provoked a far more… vehement… response than I would’ve liked (from Riiiii). I don’t really trust people in general; it’s more of a habit of mine. So in this game, I tend to find players’ actions far more influential than what they say. If you feel like I was attacking you, know that I was going mostly off of the evidence, not what people have said. But, seeing as how the Mutineers have seemed to play so far, maybe I’m wrong and they have entirely fabricated the evidence. Wouldn’t seem all too unlikely. In fact, by making a lot of people suspicious, they can spread out our votes and reign control over it. If that’s the case, we’re going to need to find a way to narrow down our voting pattern. And I’m (very reluctantly) willing to agree with Kai on this one; if that means we’re going to have a bandwagon, then fine, so be it. But if do something like that, we need to plan out who we’re going to lynch each day before actually going out and doing it. I ain’t goin’ ta vote yet; I want ta see how things progress. But I am, again, seein’ poor reasonin’ on Jeno an’ Jain’s part for thar vote. Now, Wyrm, as fer me vote fer Riiiiiii th’ last two cycles, aye, it be partially b’cause o’ th’ chart. Personally, after a while, I kinda thought he was makin’ me out ta be suspicious by puttin’ me high on th’ chart an’ then not getting’ any o’ th’ Mutineers ta kill me, so I’d ratherrrr suspiciously survive a lot longer than Aonar an’ Kai. But I didn’t really see much evidence in th’ chart. One thing I saw be, as you said, th’ fact that he’s voted fer th’ person gettin’ lynched every day. Week 5, I voted fer Jain ta see who would vote with me. At th’ time, that was most o’ the evidence I was goin’ off of. I felt th’ fact that Riiiiii voted right aft’r me fer him was suspicious, but now I feel th’ evidence be less valid. (Thar also be th’ other evidence I mentioned in me last post, but I don’ think that’s entirely incriminatin’ either.) Last week, I began gettin’ even more suspicious, as Matim, one o’ th’ people who voted fer him, died. An’ now, with Jene dead, an’ Luka not really considerin’ him suspicious fer whatever reason, I be th’ only one left ta find ‘im suspicious, an’ thar be no way I can lynch ‘im on me own. I mean, sure, it could be set up, but I feel it be a rather deliberate act ta defend ‘imself. (In that case, expect me ta die soon.) At th’ verrry least, I felt that if he actually did turn out ta be loyal, we could still get a lot o’ info by seein’ who he voted with an’ against (an’ yes, we could validate his chart as well, but I'd doubt that'd be a verrry helpful source o’ information). Howev’r, since it be verrry close ta crunch time, I don’ think we can really try ta lynch someone primarily fer th’ info anymore. I’m not so one-sided tha’ I won’t consid’r oth’r options as ta who ta lynch. I felt th’ evidence ‘gainst Riiiii be th’ strongest these past few days, but who knows, really? Th' Mutineers seem to be incredibly unpredictable in thar killing/framing patterrrrns.
  21. Okay, so I’m sorry if I haven’t seemed as helpful these past few turns. I’ve had a lot of work to catch up on, so I couldn’t make any super-long, analytical posts. However, since it’s now the weekend, I can! Avast, ye shipmates! If thar be one thing ye need ta know, it be that Riingar always be willin’ ta do work fer a cause on a Saturday. So, I be startin’ off with a list o’ all th’ players remainin’ in th’ game, includin’ the accusations made ‘gainst each o’ them (and a few observations I’ve made). They ain’t all solid evidence, jus’ want ta compile it (an’ give playerrrs a good reason ta defend themselv’s). Me current main suspects be in bold, and otherrrr suspects be underlin'd (but I also suspect every one o' ye). Jeno: Hreo thinks that he went for a Wounded Gazelle Gambit. Hasn’t really provided solid evidence as to his suspicions (or those he trusts). Wyrm is suspicious that Jeno voted for him during Week 2. Also, created a tie lynch last cycle, even though he said he didn’t think Jain was evil. Jene: Mai suspected him primarily because he was a Gunner. (Not sure that’s completely valid evidence, but I’ll include it anyways.) Also, hasn’t been helpful in giving us information, and tried to ceaselessly get Mai lynched. Jeno and Mai have voted against him, Jeno's votes mostly due to Mai’s loyalty. Riiii also stated that he is an experienced player that hasn’t been targeted. Wyrm: Kai suspected him, but whether that’s from past experience or actual evidence, I don’t know. He's also another experienced player that hasn’t been attacked (but was targeted by the hook, so it might happen this cycle). Jatae: Tends to show up towards the end of the cycle. Hasn’t said much, so there’s not really much evidence for or against him, in my opinion. Riingar: Luka has stated that it’s suspicious that he hasn’t been killed off. Has voted for the week’s lynch target several times. Jain: Unhelpful, unpredictable, uncooperative, shady, bandwagon-y. I think I covered everything there. Hreo: Mai thought it was suspicious that he was high on Riiii’s chart. (Although, that should probably be more directed at Riiii, who just happened to move Hreo down on his next chart.) Riiii also stated that he is an experienced player that hasn’t been targeted. There was the whole vote-change shenanigans on week 2. Has voted for the week’s lynch target several times. Riitiidiikiiiir: Suspicious, propaganda-y chart, as pointed out by a bunch of people. Has voted for the person with the motes votes each day. Luka: Tie vote shenanigans during week 2, brought up by Wyrm. Voted for the week’s lynch target almost as much as Riiiii. Arr, that be a lot o’ information. As fer meself, I don’ know why I haven’t been killed off by the Mutineers, but there be nothin’ I can really do here ta prove me innocence. But, maybe the Mutineers be doin’ what they be best at by settin’ me up, or (an’ this be what worries me), I keep makin’ incorrect guesses an’ th’ Mutineers be usin’ tha’ fact ta let me stay alive. Anyway, fer yer viewin’ pleasure, here be a list of lynch an’ Mutineer kills, week by week: Week 1 – Lynch: Jene (Protect’d), Kill: Aonar Week 2 – Lynch: N/A, Kill: Ratel Week 3 – Lynch: Kal (Protect’d), Kill: Kai Week 4 – Lynch: Kal, Kill: Jeno (Protect’d) Week 5 – Lynch: Jain (Protect’d), Kill: Mai Week 6 – Lynch: N/A, Kill: Matim The one thing I began to wonder be if all th’ Mutineers would actually be havin’ th’ same agenda. While they can communicate, I think it be a good idea ta investigate, especially considerin’ th’ oddity o’ a few o’ their kills. Assumin’ th’ Mutineer’s kills pass ‘round in a circle, thar be two ways th’ kills could go, dependin’ on th’ number o’ Mutineers. 3 Mutineers: Mut 1: Kill’d Aonar an’ Jeno (Howev’r, Jeno be protect’d) Mut 2: Kill’d Ratel an’ Mai Mut 3: Kill’d Kai an’ Matim 4 Mutineers: Mut 1: Kill’d Aonar an’ Mai Mut 2: Kill’d Ratel an’ Matim Mut 3: Kill’d Kai Mut 4: Kill’d Jeno (but failed, cause Jeno be protect’d) Unfortunately, I be not entirely sure how much information that be tellin’ us. Although, in th’ 4 Mutineers possibility, th’ first Mut voted fer two active players, an’ the second one voted fer two semi-active players. In th’ 3 Mutineers possibility, each o’ th’ players voted fer one active player (Aonar, Mai, an’ Kai) an’ one not-so-active player. This shows nothin’ definitive, but it certainly be interestin’. Fer me vote, I be keepin’ it with Riiiiviiia$ii6i^iimiiiiiEo*iiiii)&-iHawhat's-his-nameiioisaii!iio@iwiir, partially b’cause o’ th’ reasons I explained yesterday, an also b’cause Hreo an’ Jeno seem’d ta try an’ stop th’ vote ‘gainst Riiiiiii at th’ end o’ last cycle, with little or no reasonin’. Sounds like it be a Mutineer vote-block votin’-bloc. An’ as I stated 'bove, I be findin’ it suspicious that Riiii thought Hreo be convincin’ fer a while (which I didn’t really agree with), but aft’r Mai point’d it out, he lower’d Hreo’s trustworthiness. An’ in th’ worst case scenario, if Riiiii be loyal, then maybe we can learn a thing or two from his chart an’ votes. I do, o’ course, respect th’ opinions of me fallen comrades. Yeah, I noticed that, but I’m not sure why the Mutineers would set something up like that. There’s no benefit in doing so, at the very least. What is strange is that, somehow, out of six cycles, we’ve got one lynch off. Again, I don’t like bandwagons, but as Kai and Matim have said, we do need to ensure a lead so the vote can't be tampered with (which I think happened this previous cycle). And at this point, when the Mutineers could end up equaling our number with just one mislynch, they might consider changing their votes to another player at the last minute. Also, talk more, all of you! We only have three-fifths of our original number, and at least one fifth of that is Mutineers, so we need to keep discussion going if we want a chance at Surviving.
  22. Arrr… Honor be dead again. An’, anoth’r unsuccessful lynch. Howev’r, I ain’t hangin' th' jib ‘bout that, b’cause I earned a lot of information from th' last cycle’s lynch. I did an... experiment. I neverrrr really suspected Jain completely (but enough that he’d make a worthy candidate fer lynchin’), an’ I set this up last cycle to see who’d follow me on a vote if I’d voted fer him with little information proven ‘gainst ‘im. Th’ thing is, th’ evidence I provided against Jain be not entirely solid at this point in time. Yes, he be unhelpful ta th’ crew, but th’ fact is tha’ at that point, with a real chance o’ bein’ outnumbered with only a mislynch or two, goin’ off th’ fact that he ain’t helpful ain’t th’ best reasonin’ ta vote fer him. Yet, Riiaisiipiiiiiiaiiwiiiijiikii, Luka, an’ Matim all voted fer ‘im fer th’ same reasonin’ I gave. Seems like they used me “reasonin’” ta get a vote off a' Jain, b'cause if they really saw 'im as suspicious, they could’ve voted fer 'im any oth’r day before this. An’ that, me hearties, stinks o’ a bandwagon. More o’ a real one this time. (I think it might be a good thing Jain turned out ta be a Gunner as well. Th’ fact that th’ vote went ratherrr unopposed suggests that he ain’t a Mutineer. But then again, maybe th’ Mutineers did try ta lynch one o’ their fellow scallywags, since Jain has anoth'r life ta live, an’ it’d cast suspicion off o’ th’ people votin’ fer ‘im. Things jus' keep gettin' more complicated.) Anyway, coincidentally, th’ player I thought of as suspicious yesterrrday but couldn’t figure out why was Riikiiiitiiiikiir. Luckily, Mai an’ Luka point’d out some o’ th’ reasons he seem’d suspicious last cycle (though neither ended up votin' fer him). An', along with me experiment, I be findin’ it suspicious that almost all th’ players that’ve voted fer Riiiiii so far have retracted thar vote. So, I be votin' fer 'im this time 'round. Also, considerin’ how th’ Mutineers have play’d so far, I’d say that by killin’ Mai, they be tryin’ ta set up Jene as well. I ain’t sure ‘bout it, but it seems a little too convenient tha’ th’ Mutineers apparently went from tryin’ ta set Mai up ta killin’ ‘im altogeth’r. I really hope this works, because if Wyrm is right and it’s 6 against 4 right now, one more mislynch will cost us the game. That said, I personally think it’s more likely that it’s 7 against 3, but that might just be me being optimistic.
  23. Arrr, I be back. So th’ good news be that by this point, I feel reasonably sure ‘bout everyone’s position an’ activity so far, so I personally am goin’ ta stop votin’ fer people just fer th’ information. Ye all can do whatev’r ye like, but as of now, since I feel time be runnin’ short fer our crew, I be mostly votin’ fer me actual suspects. An' this week, I be votin’ fer Jain, because while his odd actions an’ votin’ ain’t completely indicative of him bein’ a Mutineer, I think his style o’ play is bein’ rather counterproductive fer the crew. I mean, he seems ta be tryin’ ta purposely join in on bandwagons an’ vote fer people with verrry little clear reasonin', which I don' support at all. I was thinkin’ ‘bout puttin’ up another list o’ me suspicions, but I be against it now. Ye all should find yer own suspicious an’ vote based on them. If ye really can’t figure out who be suspicious (which shouldn’t be too harrrd), then fine, I might reveal me list. But I would ratherrr let people come to thar own conclusions than be influenced by mine, so we can get more ideas an’ prevent bandwagons. I will say, howev'r, that I have one main suspect right now (not Jain), but I can't really figure out why I suspect 'im. I'll see what I information I can find tonight, if I have th' time. Edit: Grammar
  24. Alright, Mai, ye asked fer it… I be havin’ ta write a borin’ non-pirate-speak defense for meself here, per yer last post. I understand that ye would like everyone ta question their leadership, an' I don' disagree, but I feel what yer doin' now be taken it a step too far. (An' plus I realized somethin' a bit suspicious 'bout ye post that I be addressin' down below.) I know I may be takin' that simple post too far, but well, this be a good way to address me actions in this game. So, me hearties, sit back, grab yerself some grog an’ hardtack, an’ listen ta me tale o' sorrow. Okay, I guess I’m going to have to explain why I voted for who I did so far. This is my personal defense, so if the rest of you being accused want to defend yourselves or something, uh... good luck. First of all, during the second cycle, I wouldn’t have voted for Kal if he had responded to me. Now I know why he was inactive that cycle, but at the time, I saw the lack of response a bit suspicious. At the very least, I gave no reasons to start a “bandwagon” (if that’s what you call a one-vote lead over two other players). And once the third cycle came, I also voted for Kal at the start of the day in the hopes that he would respond. He did respond, but by that point (I didn’t post then, since I was heading off to bed) I had decided, due to the last night’s voting shenanigans, there was something off about Kal. (However, I have since changed my opinions a little. But, by no means is Kal off the hook.) Plus at the time, nobody else seemed suspicious enough to warrant switching my vote to them. (But again, I never gave any conclusive evidence against Kal that cycle to try and start a bandwagon.) I’ll admit that I was one of the first people to vote for Kal those two cycles, but again, the reasoning behind it wasn’t to get a bandwagon started; in fact, I’m not completely sure those two cycles were legitimate bandwagons. At the very least, it seemed like most of the people that voted for Kal had their own reasons for doing so, rather than just joining in because of what everyone else said. Today, however, might seem a bit more bandwagony, as half of the players who have voted so far have voted for Kal without as much reason. Then again, most of them have voiced their reasons yesterday. However, Mai, the fact that you seem to be trusting Kal already, before we’ve even proven his self-proclaimed innocence, tells me that maybe you already know of his alignment. I’m not voting for you, but I’m definitely less certain that you're being set up by the Mutineers than I was before. There's a good chance I'm wrong here, but it honestly seems like you’re using what Kal has said as an excuse to lay down some blame on the most active members of the crew. I can’t say I totally trust the other actives and the players high on Riiasodina’s trust chart, but if we’re all killed off… well, we’ve basically lost the entire basis of our crew. Does that mean you’re a Mutineer? Not at all, but I will be watching you more carefully. As for Kal… I don’t know what to say of your innocence, but I see no reason to add to the votes against you at this time. The rest of you who haven’t voted (and those who have), I suggest you not vote for Kal unless you are quite sure he is a Mutineer, just to further prevent any further bandwagoning. I don’t really suspect that we have an actual bandwagon today either, but as I’ve said in this post and numerous times before, bandwagoning is usually bad. (Seriously, would I be trying to promote a bandwagon when I’ve rather overtly stated not to do it?) Since Hreo seems to have jumped onto this so-called "bandwagon" and is rather active, I’d just like to know what his motivations are. He's said that the fact Kal is a Gunner doesn't make him any more or less suspicious. But, just for more information’s sake, why exactly do you think he's suspicious in the first place? Also, I’m sorry Kal, but I just don’t believe you. If you turn out to be innocent, then it could mean that some of the Mutineers have been voting for you. It is likely that at least one of the Mutineers is in one of the votes for you, but that’s just casting the net too wide. We’re not going to be able to pick out every single person that voted for you and individually lynch them one by one. First of all, we’ll be long dead by then, and second of all, I'd imagine we'll have a lot of trouble deciding who to lynch. But what I’ve seen in previous games is that Team Evil tends to spread their votes around, even if there is a bandwagon. So, I will take what you've said into account when determining people's trustworthiness, but it is by no means decisive. Edit: And so endeth th' rant. I apologize if I seem to be attackin' ye too much, but I want ta challenge people, so that everyone gets anoth'r perspective. An' this be seemin' a great opp'rtunity ta do it.
  25. Okay, Riingar be back after takin’ a caulk. An’ we’d better start gettin’ some more infermation ‘round here fast. At th’ verrry least, it be 9 Loyal Crew members agains’ 3 stinkin’ Mutineers at this point. If we mislynch fer 3 cycles (although, given ourrr record, I be surprised if we lynch anyone at all), then we be dead. So, I ain’t happy ‘bout Kai’s death at all, but it has told us that thar be only 3 proclaim’d Gunners. May be more, may be less, but 3 be sayin’ that they be Gunners at this mom'nt. I talk’d ta Meta, an’ he said tha’ a Buckler be workin’ th’ like a Gunner’s second life. So, it be possible that Jene and/or Kal be lyin’ ‘bout bein’ Gunners, an’ jus’ used a Buckler. But, I hon’stly don’ see no reason fer them to do so (that I can think of), so I think they be tellin’ th’ truth in that regarrrrd. Howev’r, interestingly, this would mean that both o’ the players that th’ Mutineers set up (assumin’ they did set ‘em up) be Gunners. I be doubtin’ they planned that, as Kal an’ Mai didn’t reveal themselves ‘til after th’ Mutineers tried settin’ ‘em up. But if Kal an’ Mai be Gunners, then… well, I don’ know if we should go fer them. Mai, in me opinion, seems like he be definitively bein’ set up. Kal, on th’ other hand… I be less sure o’. But I ain’t votin’ fer him right now, as thar still be a good chance, in me opinion, of him bein’ set up as well. Arrg, why do these things have ta be so complicated? I think tryin’ ta vote fer someone different might end up broadenin’ our suspicions. (That don’ mean I still ain’t suspicious o’ Kal; I am. But I be puttin’ the pressurrrrre off o’ him fer now.) But, fer th' moment, I be not votin' fer anyone. Also, what happened with the Grappling Hook yesterday? It seems like nobody used it, since we have all thirteen votes accounted for.
