    That's part of why I love the Master / Missy in Doctor Who. The character's completely evil and irreedemable, but (s)he somehow makes me laugh while doing the most terrible of things.

    There's another comic--this time I can't find the image--where the Devil's greeting an average-looking Joe by the gates of Hell. The Devil cheerfully exclaims "Welcome to Hell!" only to look surprised when the man bursts into tears. Devil: What is wrong with you? Guy: I don't know! You tell me! I didn't go to church every Sunday, but I didn't kill or rape anyone! Devil: Jeez, good job being a decent person. Enjoy the eternal party. * opens gates, revealing endless revelry and happiness * Devil: What are they saying about me up there?

    D'aww. Not quite as random, but there are three kittens in the house right now that need a lot of love. They keep climbing up my legs to purr in my lap while I'm on the computer.

    I feel you, Twi. I don't express this much, but I only really cared for the first Mistborn and the Alloy of Law books. The other two just get too dang dark and bleak and depressing and irritating. Meanwhile, Reddit reminds me that after all this time, my emotions still haven't recovered from Up. Darn it Reddit. Don't do this to me.

    I mean, we could make new fairy tales about badchull princesses, but I vote instead we just make all the dragons in the myths female. Everyone thinks the dragons are cooler than knights or princes anyway. Therefore, female dragons are the ultimate triumph of fantasy feminism.

    Nothing I've heard of, and I struggle to remember the names. At the rate this library garners new books, Steelheart probably won't hit the shelves until the 2030s.

    Given your specialty, Twi, you might be pleased to note that the library has finally expanded its reach to teen readers. A handful of books in the children's section now have green "TEEN" stickers smacked onto their spines.

    I used to beat my younger brother at chess all the time. We fell out of the habit of playing for a year, and now suddenly he's Bobby Fischer. We just played three games. I won one, in a close and hard-fought match, and he won the second two easily and without losing more than bishops and a few pawns. Ugh. Maybe I'm just a lot worse at chess than I thought I was.
