The Lords of Chaos will recruit wherever we like. The Newcago Court is our field, and we shall harvest it as we please.

Not good at hiding? I don't know what you're talking about. Also, I saw your white text. So there. : P

Um... I feel stupid for asking, but the gender tab is asking the gender of the voter, right?

Watch me? I am a fearsome predator, as cunning as I am elusive. Also, there's this thing called camouflage...

Parallel universes. That's what I always assume when the author and I disagree.

Enough time has passed so I finally tried this again. AND STORM IT ANOTHER KID'S NATURE BOOK. "Raptor Pack", a 'Step Into Reading' book by Robert Bakker. Ahem, "'Wyoming-raptor' had spent months, maybe even years, dragging in prey bodies and eating them."

Can't... let thread... die... On the topic of a female Doctor, does anyone have any idea who could play such an incarnation? My actress of choice would be Claudia Black, but I'd be interested in hearing alternative takes on it.

I haven't been able to find much news on this. I keep seeing the year 2016 mentioned as a probable release date though. There's also this tease, which is kind of cool.

Feathertips and Featherblades

If it's any consolation, you're way more worthy of upvotes than I am. You write fascinating, in-depth theories, sob-inducing fan fictions, and have even posted recordings of yourself singing Sanderson-inspired songs. I, on the other hand, am known predominantly for cracking cheap but hilarious jokes on every thread I join, occasionally posting melodramatic waffle descriptions and making stupid Stick references. I am a stick, by the way. So have an upvote. -
If we used a Time Turner to head back centuries before the installation of Azkaban Prison, what would we find dementors doing? Did they live on Azkaban before, naturally confined to a single island? Were they widespread? Did they have a culture or a society of their own? How did they become the guards of Azkaban? Was there some kind of pact? Was there a war? These are the questions I'm hoping the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie will answer. With any luck, Newt Scamander's studies will teach us a little bit about why Rowling's magical creatures behave the way they do.
-
The philosophical implications alone could fill another series. Are dementors sapient beings, with free will and choice concerning their actions? If so, then what can we think of the Ministry of Magic keeping them contained on Azkaban for so long? Did the dementors side with Voldemort because they're inherently evil, or because they were rebelling against an oppressive regime that treated them as subhuman monsters? Are they merely hostile specters deserving of no basic rights, or should Hermione's S.P.E.W. efforts have encompassed them as well?
-
Huh. There goes my glorious headcanon that Skeeter was devoured by acromantulas scarcely five minutes after the series ended. Am I the only person who desperately wants to know what happened to the dementors? I mean, Azkaban was a horrible place--but at the very least, it kept hundreds, if not thousands, of soul-sucking abominations contained on a small island far away from human population. What happened when they were "removed"? Did depression and suicide rates skyrocket worldwide? Did aurors manage to keep them repelled from civilization? Were they destroyed in some sort of dementor genocide?

Ooooh, rep is now a measure of power? Excellent. -

Maybe it's a clever way of saying "we don't actually have an official pony ambassador". -
It's from Meet the Robinsons. Not the absolutely best animated movie (that's WALL-E), but it's certainly one that's made me laugh quite a few times. Also.... not a single upvote for the duck post? Well, Internet, it appears I may have misjudged you. I have been defeated.

Pssst, Panda. Remember the SCP Foundation?

... Well played, madame. Well played.

The Wafflesworn: Everybody else: The ensuing chaos from these statements is going to be hilarious.

I can't help it... that gif is simply too perfect not to use over and over again. That's one of my favorite animated movie moments ever. I... tried to think of something snarky or Original, but I couldn't force it. So I decided to post this picture of a cat wearing a duck hat. If I have correctly judged the Internet, this should be a popular post by tomorrow morning.

I... actually, I've never really put captions on pictures myself. I'm just good at Googling. Try ROFL Bot.

From now on, all communication on the forum will be done using captioned pictures of ponies. Also, we totally need to identify which Herald Peter Ahlstrom is.

New recruit, need training, wardship, or just saying hi :)

Wow. So many puns. So much wordplay. I get the feeling I'm going to like you. If you're looking for basic information on the Cosmere, check out Cosmere 101. It's a very useful resource for new members. Anyway, welcome to the forums! (fora?) Have a great time. There are plenty of excellent threads to get involved with, so jump right in! -
I tend to be very free with my upvotes, to the point where most days I use up my quota. I upvote posts I find funny, posts I agree with, well-written posts I disagree with, and a lot of the time I upvote really old posts when I read through long-dead threads. Basically, if I am pleased in some way with the presence of a post, I give an upvote. I don't think this is reputation abuse. Upvotes are a way of encouraging other members. A way of giving a thumbs up; a way of saying "Great job mate, keep on posting." They are a kindness to bestow and a genuine pleasure to receive. Why not pass them around the forum?
