Could Aldo keep him occupied long enough for the operation to be carried out? His deductive precognition could allow him to see various misfortunes coming and avoid them, locking them both in conflict long enough for CM to be neutralized.
-
Could Nighthound heal if CM stared at him, or would that be a killing blow even for him?
-
Huh. The forum didn't explode. Yay!
-
Not if he was sufficiently distracted while Lucentia is growing it. I don't think he could negate crystal that's already been grown.
-
By "wrinkles" I assume you mean "Murphy" and by "ironing out" I assume you mean "assassination." As soon as Lightwards is made aware of Lucentia, I was planning on having him start coming up with the plan. His thoughts will go something like "Yikes, even an immortal Epic like myself should watch out for her. She could trap a High Epic like a bug caught in amber. Hey, wait a minute..."
-
The analogy Lightwards would use is fire. Funtimes is fire. She's shiny, she's warm... but touch her or anything close to her, and you get third-degree burns and your house burns down. Thanks. Now I can get to the true work of the day...

Heck, Lightwards wouldn't want to meet any major Epics in the city without Funtimes on call. He's scared of her, but also realizes that she can be a very devastating weapon. Mundivore pony: His cutie mark is a Celtic symbol for eternity. According to Google.

Nathan had better hope CorpseMaker didn't have any security cameras. Any ideas for a Mundivore cutie mark? I can't think of anything besides an infinity symbol or a rock.

I like to think that Oregon members would signal each other in secret outside the subforum by saying things like "having some fun times" and always capitalizing the word "Quota." (Speaking of which, no sooner had I upvoted everything I couldn't upvote before then Quota's tyrannical grip seized me again. )
-
You had me at "causing Nighthound pain." Also, I look forward to the day when Question, What Happened in Oregon, and Epics of Oregon have all grown so large that an entire subforum is created for their containment.
-
Oh Quota. Thy cruel grip keeps me from expressing due tribute to the greatest posts on the forum. I'm off to bed now, but make no mistake, upvoting that is high on my list of priorities for tomorrow.

Pretty much every ship involving Revolution has an awesome name. Consider her my gift to the shippers among us. Sight Revolution is actually an interesting idea; Sightline's just the sort of stressed-out Epic who could use some time at the commune. Without Star Trek on television or the Internet to keep him occupied, Backtrack has little else to do besides follow random Epics that pique his interest.
-
I'd join the Funtimes Revolution (which isn't a ship, no matter how much it sounds like one. ) Which Sadry deaths are you referring to? Death by Claudius, or death by Nighthound followed by post-mortem glazing? The cool thing about a Remington-Lightwards enmity is that Lightwards would be fairly oblivious to the former's hatred, at least at first. As I believe you've mentioned before, Lightwards has a very "just business" attitude to his crimes, which is counter-balanced nicely with Remington's much more caring involvement with the victims. They are the stuff great hero-villain showdowns are made of. It will be hilarious to have Backtrack picking on Remington, then suddenly switch to being overwhelmingly nice to him after he witnesses Koschei's demise.

Huh. Well even when faced by such overwhelming evidence, I'm going to stubbornly refuse to believe anything dirty is present in Steelheart, please and thank you. EDIT: winking smiley because everything I say sounds rude and sarcastic when I'm tired.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

Silence fills the court as the two princesses take steps away from one another. A rift has grown up between them--a rift that chocolate and singing snowmen might not be strong enough to mend. It becomes clear where the Newcago Court made its fatal mistake. For rather than trusting universal concepts like food or chaos or sad fanfiction, Newcago placed its faith in its royalty. The concepts of chaos or tolerance will stand forever, but the friendship of two royals can never stand. All it takes is one tiny schism... Kobold King let the thought trail off in his abnormally large head, stroking the head of a fluffy kitten laying in his arms. The silence felt uncomfortable, but the anticipation of watching the Newcago Court descend into a flurry of chaos exhilarated him. Biting off one end of his yak jerky and giving the other half to the kitten, he chuckled as the fate of the court was decided between the two sisters.

When Quota's death scene is written, there's a very real chance of me putting it as a link in my signature as a public protest. I'd planned to have Lightwards reference the Sadrys when Aldo comes back empty-handed from his Alice-fetching mission. He'll get pretty angry and won't quite believe what he's hearing, and I was planning for him to mention the Sadrys as an example of how proper Warrior behaved. I've drafted a somewhat creepy little scene in my head for when he hears the news... but the point is, my plans to that regard can be pushed back if you think it's still too soon for Remington to enter Revenge Mode. Beware, Lightwards, for Remington Springfield is badchull enough to succeed where Jake Subbly, Mobius, and Quickslide failed. Do not mess with the man who put Koschei the Deathless into the "Deceased Epics" category.
-
Maybe the younger sister's the one who contacted the Reckoners to kill Lightwards? In any case, I could certainly get behind another vanilla character, even if she only occasionally appeared. Also, under what circumstances would we allow Lightwards to offhandedly mention the Sadry's within Remington's earshot? Because I get the feeling Remington would start shooting shortly thereafter. Randomness and improvisation for the win.
-
That fits together quite nicely, and as I've said before, is really awesome foreshadowing in hindsight. Now I'll go reread those posts substituting "Sadry hunter" for Remington.
-
Neat. Would that mean that the bright pink room Funtimes briefly inhabited belonged to Laurie?
-
The Norris stamp of approval is still in effect.
-
Is this actually a thing that is happening?
-
By all means.
-
And Lightwards murdering his grandparents didn't improve his mood very much.
-
I think that sums up what their relationship would be like. Also, I still find it a little surprising that scarcely a day after he entered the city, people have already contacted the Reckoners because Lightwards killed one of their relatives. I wonder who the clients were--relatives of the Sadry's or the Regways, perhaps?
