Having a Bad Day? Stop here for a Good Rant!
Kobold King replied to traceria's topic in General Discussion
I mean, really--would it have killed them to make their dumb little cartoon about any other group of kid heroes, or maybe mustered some semblance of creativity long enough to create original characters? Grrr. I'm gonna have to watch some classic episodes to calm my mind before I grow another pair of angry red eyes. -
Having a Bad Day? Stop here for a Good Rant!

Being an enormous fan of the original show... I haven't been able to view the new one. I haven't even tried. I've heard such horrible things about, I simply can't bring myself to give it a go. The original was smart, funny, and had me emotionally invested in every episode. Perhaps I'm heeding hearsay too much, but I've heard that this "Teen Titans Go" is a thin, overly simplistic shadow of the once-great program. Seeing my favorite superhero show in such a sad condition would really break my heart. -
0.o Um, no. That would be a good way to create the Master. Or something so horrible that the Master would run to big brother Koschei for protection.

...Do we dare to make an Epic based off of David Tennant? Do we dare live every Sanderfan's/Whovian's dream?

In the immortal words of the immortal chaos dragon known as Discord... "Eww, gag." Quality entertainment can be enjoyed equally by children and adults. Cheap saccharine entertainment can only barely be stomached by bored children. I can't speak for Sofia the First specifically, but I know its type--it sounds like one of those idiotic shows made by people who think childhood is roughly identical to being brain-dead. -
Looking forward to it. Hmm... the Oncoming Storm? Something that describes the way they destroy towns, perhaps? Annihilators, Eradicators, Obliterators, Exterminators, etc. I'm not very good with names...

I always get shakes before a drop. Usually vanilla.

When he did notice, he'd start laughing at his irrational fear. That is, until he noticed that the number 8 looks like a Möbius strip on its side, at which point he'd join him under the table.

I like your cipher Epic! He would definitely make a great asset for Vondra's government. Is this a newer Epic, or one who's been using his/her powers for a while? Also, male or female? I love Black Jaguar too. Why was the Financier afraid of seven? Because seven eight nine. Because of the mental deterioration that torments him every time he dies.

"Lucentia × 0 = Financier-topia" "Oregon × 0 = FLEE BEFORE ME MORTALS" He's definitely sounding awesome though.

Some kind of weird mathematical ability, perhaps? Maybe when he's confronted with a group of objects, he can either multiply or divide them. So when bullets are fired his way he can simply "multiply them by zero," causing them all to disappear. Or when he fires his own gun he can multiply his shot so that thousands of bullets are instantly poured towards his enemy. ...I don't really understand what I just said either.

It actually occurs to me that Mobius has been a server in canon; she was a waitress at a dingy roadside sushi bar. The result? She destroyed the bar and killed everyone in it. My Epics for Astoria so far: Sharkbait and Jingleberry. Somehow I doubt I'm thinking big enough. Why does that creepy guy smile? WHY DOES HE SMILE?
-
* GASP * Lord Snakehands, I knew it was you! We get to see Möbius in customer service only after Funtimes. Fair is fair.

Epic Weakness: Being foolish enough to reveal his Epic weakness. (Thanks! ) Those are really awesome. I already know their names and powers, so it'd be unfair for me to enter serious guesses. With that in mind, I'm guessing Count Awesomesauce and Scratchy McYelloweyes.

I like her! So, you guys were still waiting on a Kobold King™ pony, right?

Chimera: And nobody cares about my personality! They only care about my powers, not getting to know the real me! Upgrade: Yeah, join the club. Chimera: NO!

...Please tell me you didn't mention the 17th Shard during your brief visit to 4chan.

It really has been interesting. If I'm not mistaken, I'm both the only farmer to post on this thread and the only member to have listed Feruchemical pewter as an honorable mention.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

I hope you got lots of candy and metal shavings this Halloween! -
You don't know the future. Friendship could prevail in Oregon just as easily. ...More on topic, if this thing ever gets off the ground, I'd actually be interested in joining. I have a loose character concept for a Griffon biologist that could be interesting.

What would a two week day/night cycle be like?
Kobold King replied to Khyrindor's topic in Creator's Corner
I am similarly not an astronomer--or anyone with a particularly well-informed opinion, for that matter. I'd recommend using Google to verify anything I state before, since I have been known to be incorrect on speculative planetological matters. I have been proven wrong quite often, in fact. That said, here are my thoughts on the United Moons of Khyrindoria. Our own Earth would suffer from the same burning and freezing as the Moon were it not for the quality of our atmosphere. Earth's atmosphere is sufficient to insulate the planet, keeping the global temperature at a relative constant. At night the atmosphere keeps heat from dissipating into space, while during the day sunlight is blocked from irradiating the planet's surface. Earth's atmosphere is ideally suited for our 24-hour day cycle. In the case of your moons, a thicker atmosphere might be required to keep the global temperatures at a habitable constant. What consequences would the thicker atmospheres have on your little moons? On this, I am not quite certain. This is not my area of expertise. Certainly there would be substantial effects on the weather--for instance, denser air takes greater amounts of force to move, which means that strong winds would be less common but more powerful than on Earth. One interesting quirk of dense atmospheres is the effect they would have on life during the early stages of evolution. On our own Earth, insects and other small invertebrates are prevented from growing beyond a certain size due to their limited respiratory systems. The way insects breathe is inefficient; they are incapable of drawing as much oxygen from the air as vertebrates. In Earth's thin atmosphere, this means that invertebrates have never been able to support bodies much larger than a small bird. However, insects that evolved submersed in a thick cloud of easily accessible oxygen would not face such a severe limit. These invertebrates would most likely have outcompeted vertebrates during the early stages of evolution, leading to biospheres dominated by what we would call arthropods. Better yet, these arthropods would be able to take to the skies much more readily than our own feeble dragonflies. In a thicker atmosphere, it would be easier for flying animals to generate lift. I'd expect to see these cloudy skies ruled by an assortment of large gliding animals. If the atmospheres are thick and rich enough, the skies of Khyrindoria could be just as biologically diverse as Earth's oceans. -
Agreed. More description of the situation would be sublime, as would a greater amount of content to review.

Yeah, it seems the merits of Firesoul Ferrings is a matter of... heated debate.

This does make me wonder how states like Washington were affected by Oregon's destruction. Logically, you'd expect them to have some degree of damage, since it's kind of ludicrous to imagine the Oregon state border having an ash-coated wasteland on one side and an idyllic paradise on the other. Natural disasters usually don't fit state borders so perfectly.

A Google search claims that Battle Ground is a town in Washington, not Oregon. But Oregonian cities definitely have cool names.
