  1. Redlight's OTP is now with Glamour, just so we can have a plausible reason for this song playing in their scenes.
  2. I for one would be disappointed if an Instabam novel wasn't called Hot Potato.
  3. Don't be greedy. He needs to write the Chronicles of Instabam as well, remember.
  4. I hadn't considered that, but I like it. It also means she couldn't shoot and kill someone that she's frozen, meaning that she could contain someone like Shiny Sparkle but not assassinate her. I'm not sure whether or not to let her freeze herself as well, though I'm leaning against it. The Pink Pinkness released as a novelette?
  5. Oh, indeed. Any other author could have made a living off of the Reckonerverse alone--Brandon Sanderson's so awesome, what would be considered the crowning work of any other writer is just a single trilogy amid a sea of other great novels, and it's not even universally considered to be one of the better ones. I definitely hope for spinoffs, even if they're just bonus shorts like Mitosis. OK, so I hope nobody minds if I try to work out a small power issue I'm having with Redlight. I have it listed in her profile that she can stop people from moving, but not prevent them from using their powers. Earlier today I was trying to figure out the exact mechanics of what she does, and came to two different possibilities: She jams motor signals, preventing conscious, muscular movement but leaving mobility powers unaffected. She genuinely prevents any movement at all, essentially freezing people in place and instantly doing away with all their momentum, like MV. This power could even circumvent normal laws of physics, such as by suspending a falling man in the air with no support. Most Epic powers would be unaffected, but it would block any attempts at motion. So if she froze Obliteration he'd be able to drain heat but not teleport, and if she froze Impact she'd be able to impart momentum to objects she's touching but wouldn't be able to move herself. Personally I prefer the second option for its versatility and overall coolness (though in the interests of full disclosure, I also like the fact that it makes it more difficult for a teleporter to kill every commander in The Dalles in a matter of seconds. ) I feel that this coupled with her range of about twenty feet would make her useful but not overpowered, and the fact that her abilities have not been seen in the RP as of yet gives me a little leeway with redefining them, but I'd like to hear feedback about this idea. I don't want anyone to feel I'm cheating or bending the rules at all, so by all means, raise any objections you can think of.
  6. Assuming my sense of sloth is as corrupted as the rest of me, I think I'd just sit around all day making snarky comments about other people.
  7. How come I didn't get awesome superpowers, Surgebound? Didn't you think of your fellow forumeers at all?!
  8. I'm almost tempted to post this on Brandon Sanderson Facts to see what happens.
  9. Pretty much, but I need to post for Lightwards so Edgedancer can get LW and Lucentia to the MoNA, so the MEE can launch their attack. In other words, I'm holding things up again.
  10. Well, duh. Why would Taylor Swift be scowling at an ordinary cat?
  11. Brandon Sanderson doesn't post very often because modern computing is not sufficient to store the number of upvotes he'd acquire on a daily basis. EDIT: I meant to post this on the Brandon Facts thread. But, uh, thanks for the upvote?
  12. I'm more of a worldbuilder as well, mainly with planets and alien races as opposed to characters or magic. I have plans for a lot of RP characters, but those plans are fluid and open to change. Also, I found the world's best Taylor Swift gif:
  13. Remember the Lightwards version of the Oogie-Boogie Song? It'd be that, on a continuous loop, all the time. Except for occasional breaks to sing "Be Prepared" when the mood takes him. I think the character I most want to hear sing is the Financier, actually.
  14. Not to mention Lucentia. I don't know if I could bear a forty-page tragic dirge about the time she ordered a cheeseburger and the frycook forgot the cheese. It's not my finest work, but I'm glad you liked it.
  15. Sometimes I think I go too far in the name of ponification. I saw that episode! It's awesome.
  16. That's what I thought! He could be a musically-oriented friend of Altermind's. It's too easy to imagine him rolling into The Dalles and taking over the Guard with the power of song. Bow your heads, you silly feds, You can't resist my trance This town's so fine and now it's mine I'll take it with a dance... Yeah. Waaaay too easy, given the insanity that's already gone on.
  17. Nah, I was just wondering if she had a flamboyant cape or something else that I should bring up in my post. In other news, today I learned that Neil Patrick Harris guest-starred in a Batman cartoon... and now I have an idea for an Epic.
  18. Well, another person could complain that he's writing so much Stormlight when so many fans are dying to read the next Mistborn trilogy. While I can see the frustration, it's just part of being in the fanbase of a particularly prolific author. I mean, think about George R.R. Martin fans for a minute. We're getting tons of quality literature in several different series while they're still waiting for the next Game of Thrones book.
  19. Coma, what exactly is Taylor wearing at the moment? Did you have a particular outfit in mind?
  20. Why didn't you include cat-duplication in her profile? You had the perfect opportunity! You can't know what works for you until you try.
  21. That. Was. A. Thing. Of. Beauty.
  22. He does look like Deathwish, doesn't he? Well, who are we to argue with a Super Bowl commercial? "You can't just take some random woman and force your attentions on her." "Isn't that what you used to do?" "Well... yes. Here, have a Coke. It'll all be clearer after a Coke."
  23. I should have made Coke his weakness. (I still can't sit through that entire commercial without laughing out loud. )
  24. Both it is, then. That... that might just about cut it. And now I'm imagining reformed!Deathwish handing out mangled apologies all over Oregon. "Storms Scribbler, you're just fifteen! I shouldn't have hit on you, even if you were hot." "Sorry about trying to peak up your skirt, Impact. If it's any consolation you have very nice legs." "Yikes, sorry I chopped your husband in half in midair. I just want you to know that he had a very thick spinal column, I almost didn't get my sword all the way through."
  25. A thread could work, but a wiki page could serve the same purpose. Either way I support it. Exactly what TwiLyght said. He fears law enforcement, or more specifically the way society looks down on him--hence oncoming police sirens being his weakness. His powers give him some degree of empowerment over his fears, but he's never actually faced the fact that he's the scum of society. His response to being rejected by women or pursued by police has always been to continue trying to become the toughest guy on the block, not actually confronting his fear and realizing what a slontze he is.
