    Wow. One of the best artists on the forum posts a request thread, and people don't immediately swamp it with begs and pleas for icons? I thought for sure other people would beat me to this. I feel just a touch awkward filing a request, since I understand this takes up a lot of your time, but since you're looking for practice I suppose this could benefit both of us. Here's the form for Lightwards, my Epic character in the Reckoners RPG. Animal: Human. Description: Not hugely specific, but we've often described his face as a cross between Indiana Jones and Harry Potter. Round face, round glasses, sandy hair, and a shamrock-green bowler hat. In his late 30s. If you need more detail, I can give it; I'm trying to give you room for artistic license in the depiction. I'm not picky. Personality: Alternates between grim and irritable and sadistically pleased. Usually grim and irritable. Background: Jungle if you can manage it. An urban or generic forest background would also do quite nicely. Words on Picture: Nah. I mean, if you want to sign the picture who am I to stop you, but there's nothing in particular I want written on it. If you want to deny this request for any reason, go ahead--I don't hold a grudge. (By the way, what does "wear for at least five days" refer to? I'm more than happy to comply with your terms, but I simply don't understand what this means.)

    Um. Wouldn't I ask her for her least favorite form of torture? ... You know what, never mind. She apparently has a friend with a lot of guns, and I don't want to risk that friend being less understanding than she is.

    I'm envisioning something called a Poisoner, a machine created by an intensely xenophobic civilization for the purpose of wiping out intelligent races and rendering planets uninhabitable with an array of cobalt-salted nuclear bombs. That ought to catch the attention of player characters pretty quickly, right?

    I'd feel weary about doing that exactly--the Ravager was a creation someone made on an old wiki I frequented--but I think a highly advanced, coldly automated killing machine would be the perfect thing to kick off some action.

    What about the Ravager, an ancient AI residing in a ship crafted of the finest neutronium-metal, waiting for the day when it detects evidence of a Type IX or above civilization and can finally shift into Annihilation mode? ... Not that I have any reason for asking that question, of course.

    I've stopped telling my parents when I interact with a female of my species. The desire to pass one's genetics down the generations is strong. * rolls eyes * Genetic forebears.

    "Congratulations, Danielle, we knew you had it in you"? That or "OH MY GOSH WHAT SORCERY IS THIS." I don't know them well enough to judge. My primary interest is seeing what the Question thread would be like with two TwiLyghts posting on it regularly.

    Hey, it's not my fault that I slack off more than anyone else and have more time to write absurdly lengthy responses! I'm pretty sure I have a Kitty Island, devoted to all the cats that I adore and interact with every day. And on a similar note, I have a 17th Shard island that fills pretty much the same role as Riley's Friendship Island. I cannot express how much I love it that animal Emotions were included. I loved how the dog Emotions were constantly in agreement, single-mindedly devoted to whatever goal they were currently pursuing, while the cat's Emotions were more chaotic. And also seemed to have no idea what they were doing, which fits with the bizarre and unpredictable emotions cats seem to have.

    You'll be fine. Plenty of people move away from their parents without immediately getting mugged by gangs of unsavory criminals. While caution is always good to have, I don't think you have anything to worry about on that front. Besides, most of Backtrack's bad luck is purely karmic. Remain the non-slontze that I know you are and you'll be fine. Oh, I know just what you mean. For a month I was convinced that Twi saw me as a creepy stalker prying into her personal life. It probably took more effort from her to dissuade me of that than it took me to give sympathy for her troubles.
