  1. Is it just me, or is "Remington Springfield" a far more appropriate name for an Epic with gun-related powers than "Curveball"? If you're a Dragon, does that mean you're weak against Ice and Fairy?
  2. I know we all want to see Stormlight as a television series, but let's think about the logistics: wouldn't the ads start to get annoying? (Way of Kings)
  3. I think it's more likely she was irritable and cold all the time because she'd lived to see her entire society torn down and conquered by depraved, sadistic madmen with superpowers. Nice thought, though I highly doubt it.
  4. I suspected as much. I'll keep that in mind... in case I'm ever writing a completely fictional and non-autobiographical novel about a man crossdressing as part of an insurance scam, of course.
  5. ...Unscrupulous... yes. Of course. Hypothetically, as a manly man who'd never dream of impersonating a woman, would it be advisable to shave before attempting to pass myself off as a young lady?
  6. Is it worse for men? I need to know so I can decide whether or not to temporarily embrace cross-dressing in the event that I need auto insurance.
  7. Monty Python and the Holy Grail, for teaching me of the perils of white rabbits. What's your favorite meme?
  8. The Sanderson fandom, after Hoid's first appearances:
  9. It's not showing up for me, though I'd very much like to check it out. Meanwhile, brief comic on MLP and the brony community--sort of.
  10. Me trying to explain Scadrial-accurate pronunciation to casual Sanderfans. ...How I sound to them. Also, Shallan in WoK. (Spoilers.)
  11. But, you know. Only mildly exciting. Now who took the TV remote?
  12. They look... so very enthusiastic. Mailliw, if you're reading this: how would you feel about a future battle between Lightwards and Chimera, with the zoo as stakes?
  13. Dinosaurs versus mutants, in a high-stakes siege around a decaying post-apocalyptic zoo? Yes please.
  14. Lightwards will be very interested in Chimera. If Chimera doesn't hand over his creations willingly, though, nor shows any desire to permanently join forces... ...well, then we might have a very interesting battle on our hands. There are handsome men and gorgeous women who'd want nothing more than to snuggle with Nighthound's Bane.
  15. GUY_AT_CHURCH: What I don't get is why we need to ship domestic rabbits from New Zealand if we have so many cottontails and jackrabbits here in America. ME: Oh, I know! Domestication takes a large amount of trial and error to complete, so it's easier to ship already domesticated bunnies from the old world than to try and restart the process with wild ones here from the new world... GUY_AT_CHURCH: Yes, I know all that. I was just pulling your leg. ME: ...oh. Sorry.
  16. I love how it careens wildly from the source material's plot, yet somehow remains rigidly, entire faithful to it. Also, BANGARANG!
  17. That's one of the few that made me laugh (and facepalm a little) out loud.
  18. There are way better places to make these decisions. For instance, on the aisles themselves. It doesn't even have to be the right aisle. My mom and I once stumbled across a large box of Krispy Kreme donuts lodged on a shelf in the women's underwear aisle. We believe that the numbers on the underwear made someone less certain that she wanted to eat an entire box of donuts, and I applaud her for the willpower to make this decision. ...Where was I?
  19. That's the question that's important to you?
  20. I'm not exaggerating when I say he's threatened to banish people from the community for forgetting to wear their straw hats when they stepped out of their homes. He actually did banish someone for using a cellphone on a "community working day." Exchange 'banish' for 'kill' and you've got a terrifying Epic already. I presume Lucentia's minions would play "First World Problems," but would Amish Man's minions play "Amish Paradise" or "Raise This Barn"?
  21. ...I was going to make fun of the idea of an Amish despot, but then I remembered my meeting the leader of the quasi-Amish community not far from my house and I realized the idea isn't that far-fetched. I can actually readily imagine an Epic who uses a progressively complicated ordnung to keep his vanilla minions in line. On the other hand, having Amish Man get into an argument with Lucentia over which of them is more humble would be pretty entertaining.
  22. Thanks! ...Personally I find the concept behind the Cold extremely creepy and I'd be too suspicious of them to accept their offer, but hey. I was hoping for them to occupy a moral shade of grey, and if they have one supporter already I guess I'm on the right track. Maybe soulless bodies are vulnerable to possession from incorporeal spirits? Some spirits might be mindless themselves, and cause the bodies to shamble about as zombies. Other spirits might possess more intelligence and malevolence, becoming vampires, barrow draugs, or other forms of undead.
  23. What if you repeatedly interrupted them with "storm off" every time your mother started one of her lectures? I bet they'd learn to keep their tones respectful before long.
  24. I'm not using it for anything other a lame joke at Jared Leto's expense, so go ahead. Use it for whatever.
  25. And then a post-credits scene where Deadpool makes fun of the booing theatergoers, until remembering he's a Marvel character and subsequently crab-walking off the screen and into the next Avengers movie.
