  1. What if reincarnation was a natural process, like the lives of stars or the water cycle? What if it could be controlled? What if a war was fought to control it? What would that war look like?

      I wouldn't say that a prey animal is inherently more miserable than a human being--one could argue that animals like water buffalos, spending their lives wallowing in cool mud in the company of their family and buffalo friends, live highly luxurious lives despite the risk of predation. In order to accurately mete out punishments and rewards, a reincarnation-governing organization would first need to conduct a few spiritualist surveys of which past lives people considered to be their best.

      True. I was thinking of the poor bunnies that come into our yard sometimes. They always look so harassed.

      Well, as a general rule wild animals like rabbits don't stray into human residential areas unless they're already hungry and desperate for food. So the bunnies you see in your yard are probably the equivalent of homeless or poverty-stricken bunnies, and are thus not good examples of the average rabbit's quality of life.
