Long Game 12: Shadows of Elantris
twelfthrootoftwo replied to Herowannabe's topic in Sanderson Elimination
...I guess now we're sure about Jain, there's no point fishing anymore If Jain is the Gyorn, I suspect he's made Luckat his Odiv. We've been running on the understanding that the Gyorn was converting Elantrians/lurkers/people who couldn't talk, and then switched to confirmed players after Luckat started announcing the converts. But that makes Luckat a strange choice. In more than one game, she's hung back at the start, then come out with a game-changing play later. Jain knows this. So why put such a "scary, scary player" in a position of information from the beginning? I suspect it was because he was always planning to recruit her as Odiv.- 1221 replies

Long Game 12: Shadows of Elantris

Not much time, but: I was the one attacked this cycle. (Thank you, Warrior!) I don't know who was targeted in the previous cycles though. I'm going to put my not-quite-a-poke vote back on Luckat, with a more specific question: what do you think of our Gyorn candidates?- 1221 replies

Long Game 12: Shadows of Elantris

I have to say, Jain, your responses have been rather strongly worded for someone who essentially wants to be accused. I'm starting to give some serious consideration to Kashero and Wyrmimir's* accusation. Luckat, what do you make of recent events? *The two of them can decide who gets the cool name and who gets the silly one.- 1221 replies

Long Game 12: Shadows of Elantris
twelfthrootoftwo replied to Herowannabe's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I'm back, and caught up on the thread! So here are some thoughts. Hael: I had some serious suspicious of him after reading his scenario of Meta/Kas being Cultists, and the poetry exchange, because they reminded me of things I tried to do in LG11. But: ...Yes, he did, and passed it to Kas. He even proposed using it to get someone scanned, after Bort (a theoretical teammate) had come under heavy fire from Wilson the previous night. I'm having trouble finding any serious justification for that move as a Cultist. Meta: If you were reading between the lines there, you'd note I'm basically assuming Meta's genuine. The con is just too complex. Other suspicions: Something about Kipper doesn't sit quite right with me. I can't put my finger on why, beyond pointing here (strange for reasons Alv and Wilson point out immediately) and here (why come out to defend Kas?). Aside from that, I don't have much. It seems unlikely that Ostrich is a Cultist, but I'll be entirely happy to lynch him next day cycle anyway.- 1221 replies

Long Game 12: Shadows of Elantris
twelfthrootoftwo replied to Herowannabe's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well, that wasn't what I was expecting. Meta Winter Why not scan Phatt himself? It seems to me that would be a more direct way of verifying Wilson (and Ren). Is there a kind soul willing to lend me a Seon for a cycle? There's someone I want to contact. (I'm not much of a PM person, so you'd get it back straight away.) For the record, I think lynching someone because their play has improved isn't a good thing for the community in the long term. And I'm happy to give the occasional Eliminator a free pass (Winter got scanned, so she doesn't count any more ) in favour of encouraging the player base to develop.- 1221 replies

Long Game 12: Shadows of Elantris
twelfthrootoftwo replied to Herowannabe's topic in Sanderson Elimination
The MR4 incident (those who weren't around during that game, see here for where it came to a head) involved weighing up both the bluff and double-bluff possibilities in-thread. This time, there was no consideration; Kas' trolling was just taken at face value. Meta. (Yes, I said I didn't want to lynch him without serious evidence. Well, that's either going to come from a lynch discussion or our Priest, and in the absence of another poison vial, well...) Winter, What made you want to analyse more? I note that both Karlin and Seonid didn't vote in thread, but showed up in the writeup. Was one (or both) of them moved by a Duke/Duchess? (Seonid was moved to a potential lynch target, Zas, so at a guess I would expect their vote was moved by the Cultist Prince/ss.) Edit: formatting- 1221 replies

Long Game 12: Shadows of Elantris
twelfthrootoftwo replied to Herowannabe's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I propose Meta. I've been suspicious of him for a while, and a few things from the last few days have strengthened that: I stared at that for a good five minutes trying to figure out why it seemed so wrong. The first bit (about not lynching converts just because) is fine. But deciding Wonko's claim was a ruse...It's done emotively, with no real weight of logic behind it. I suspect this post was meant to stop Phat (and Wonko) getting soft-confirmed, leaving enough suspicion there to avoid us creating strategies around him as our priest. Wilson, you like to consider wording, tone and such things. I'd be interested in your opinion on that post. Kas was quite clearly trolling there, and Snoopy is correct in saying it would be rather bizarre for him to put an exposed vote on his Lover. So why take it so seriously, and push our Warriors towards protecting them? It reads to me as an attempt to distract the Warriors from protecting Phat. Maybe this would work better in the lynch discussion, but Meta is a valuable enough village player that I'm reluctant to push a lynch without more serious evidence, which a scan would provide. Edit: the Blue Text Awakener returns!- 1221 replies

Long Game 12: Shadows of Elantris
twelfthrootoftwo replied to Herowannabe's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Maill, my and Kas' concerns about you 'tying up the votes' are still unanswered. And now I would also like to hear more of your side of the story in the PM with Badger, since information exchanges are a strategy you've used yourself. Meta, what made you give reasons for suspecting Winter, but not Claincy or Mek? As a general reminder to Seon holders/Elantrians, there's more to gain from your PMs than just Cultist/Gyorn targets. What do the Elantrians think about some of the divisive players (Jain and Bort come to mind)? Any suspicions? What are their opinions on the late bandwagons? Essentially, what would they be posting, if they could?- 1221 replies

Long Game 12: Shadows of Elantris
twelfthrootoftwo replied to Herowannabe's topic in Sanderson Elimination
...Meaning anyone who places a vote after you is messing up The Plan? Stifling serious discussion for the latter half of the cycle? (The last few pages prove it didn't work like that, but the implication is pretty strong.) Maill That was a LG11 grudge coincidence. Wonko happened to be both a player I remembered as being more active last game and a target for questioning about the bandwagon. As for not moving my vote, I came on to change it later than planned; at that point the bandwagon was happening, and I wasn't comfortable participating. For clarity's sake, I decided to leave my vote where it was. I'm not particularly suspicious of Wonko, though their decision to claim their role is interesting. Re. day 1 lynch votes: We've assumed that the vote manipulation towards getting cycle-1-Mek lynched came from the Cultists. I agree with this (two manipulations in the same direction suggests deliberate organisation). Depending on which lynch state they last saw, this has different meanings. Orlok-C1Mek: Both were Civilians, so equally valid targets. They chose a target. Either they 1) preferred C1Mek, for whatever reason, or 2) they wanted to avoid a draw, suggesting they may have a debtor on the team. C1Mek-C1Feligon: Either 1) trying to save C1Feligon (who is a Cultist here) or 2) again avoiding a draw Gut feeling is leaning towards avoiding a draw (probably because that route avoids making assumptions about a specific player). I think Winter argued (in cycle 1) that the Cultists wouldn't get a counterproductive role, but it could serve to balance the numbers - if 5 is too few but 6 is too many, make it 6 but with one having a harmful role.- 1221 replies

Long Game 12: Shadows of Elantris
twelfthrootoftwo replied to Herowannabe's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I'm starting to appreciate the reasons for going after inactives at the end of a lynch. Only at the end, though; if the active players don't interact, it's pointless. To that end, some serious questions: Bort: why put a second vote on Dowanx? Why not question, say, Wonko? (Wilson and Mek's motives are mostly clear by now, and Phattemer is beyond reach for discussion) Wilson: what were your reasons for believing both Orlok and Mek were Citizens, beyond them being active in thread? Maill: why try to set up a tie vote when we're not halfway through the cycle? edit: grammar- 1221 replies

Long Game 12: Shadows of Elantris
twelfthrootoftwo replied to Herowannabe's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I'd rather we aim to lynch instead of a draw. Sure, we lose a player either way. But if it's to the lynch, not only does the village decide who dies, but all the info gained from the discussion is enhanced by discovering the alignment of one of the players involved. I agree that village vote manip roles should hold back for the moment (except the Dula and maybe the Monarch, who don't have much of a choice) - then if there are changes it will give us info about the Cultists' capabilities. I'll throw a poke vote on Wonko. In keeping with the above, I'll put down a more serious vote later in the cycle. Could you expand on this?- 1221 replies

This suggests to me that the Spiked have earned sizeable influence behind the scenes. Four attacks ( the ones that weren't due to Wonko) is getting unwieldy just for the Spiked and allied Kandra. It might be worth tracing the other kills to figure out if there's a common source. I trust Luckat, and by extension Meta. Which means the evidence against Jae is substantial.

I interpreted your post to mean your vote figuratively didn't count - that it was there, but the amount of weirdness going on made it effectively worthless. Which meant that it must have been Alv's vote that literally didn't count. Now for round two. I’m using an Occam’s Razor-type logic here, in which something strange/unexplained inherent in a scenario makes that scenario less likely to have occurred. It’s not a precise method, because I’m sure we all agree that strange things certainly happen in these games, but it’s a useful tool in assessing the relative probability of each case. Comments apply to scenarios as a whole, not just this post. If Alv is Spiked: If Smart is Spiked: If Jae is Spiked: Would Jae have defended Smart? Perhaps. It draws another connection between them, but may have helped Smart's standing. Comment: On the whole, this is an extremely risky move by the Spiked; it requires them accidentally starting a bandwagon and making multiple questionable decisions to try and get the situation under control. I can see it being tried only if Smart was both nearly inactive and had a powerful role. If Jae is Twinborn: Would Jae have defended Smart? If he believed Smart about being a kill role, he would have wanted to keep Smart safe. Since Meta's query about Smart stems from the circumstances around Jae, then Jae choosing to defend Smart could have seemed logical. Comment: Mostly makes sense. The questionable parts here are whether Alv would poke a teammate (and I think he might), and how the Spiked knew Jae was elsewhere. If Smart is Twinborn: If Jae is Spiked: Would Jae have defended Smart? Probably not. He may have been trying to win Smart to his cause, or defend a Villager who could be killed before him. But having a trusted Village kill role is bad for the Spiked; it's more likely Jae would have tried to keep suspicion on Smart. Unless that defence was intended to arouse suspicion; not something I can see an inactive Jae doing, but it's possible this was Alv's idea. Comment: Both Smart and Jae have questionable actions here - respectively, publicly revealing his kill role, and defending said kill role. Both have possible explanations(Smart under pressure, Jae cosying up to/framing Smart), but two strange things in one case is worth noting. If Jae is Twinborn: Would Jae have defended Smart? As for Smart Spiked. Comment: Smart revealing his role is the only strange part here. Overall, this is a plausible scenario. If Alv is Twinborn: If Smart is Spiked: If Jae is Spiked: Would Jae have defended Smart? It's more likely than the case where Alv is Spiked, as they don't have a third team member under fire. It's still a risk to draw that connection, though. Comment: More plausible than all three Spiked, but requires Smart and Jae repeatedly drawing connections between each other. If we assume neither of them have been paying much attention to the game, it's possible, but still unlikely. If Jae is Twinborn: Would Jae have defended Smart? As for Alv Spiked. Comment: The only question here is how the Spiked knew Jae's position. If Smart is Twinborn: If Jae is Spiked: Would Jae have defended Smart? As for Alv Spiked, with the corollary that Alv can't advise Jae on casting suspicion on Smart with the defence. Comment: Again, issues with Smart revealing his power and Jae defending a kill role. The absence of Alv on the Spiked team makes this one less likely. If Jae is Twinborn: Would Jae have defended Smart? As for Alv Spiked. Comment: Then we've all wasted our efforts looking at these three. Again, the only question is why Smart revealed his role. So, to give an overall view (Alv/Smart/Jae): Likely Spiked/Spiked/Twinborn Spiked/Twinborn/Twinborn Twinborn/Spiked/Twinborn Possible Spiked/Twinborn/Spiked Twinborn/Spiked/Spiked Twinborn/Twinborn/Twinborn Unlikely Spiked/Spiked/Spiked Twinborn/Twinborn/Spiked Of the three ‘likely’ scenarios, my gut feeling is leaning towards the Spiked/Twinborn/Twinborn case. That’s partly based on my read of Smart, though. The analysis suggests Jae is likely to be Twinborn; if I’m wrong there, then I’d go for ?/Twinborn/Spiked over ?/Spiked/Spiked as IMO two smaller problems are more probable than one large problem.

Much as I am intrigued, that sounds like you're not going to give me any more. Ostrich There seems to be something rather compelling against Alv in the PMs if six people have "good reason" to vote for him. He, Smart and Jae are also tied together by the lynch last cycle - Alv poked Smart, a bandwagon formed based on that (Alv did not remove his vote, but if we believe Bort, it didn't count anyway), Smart offered to kill Jae to prove himself, and also voted for Jae. Perhaps we can draw something from that. (I'm broadly grouping kandra into Twinborn here, since I would expect on the whole their actions would be reasonably similar, and because 3^3 states is too much work.) If Alv is Spiked: If Smart is Spiked: Would Alv have voted for Smart? Potentially. It would be a way to galvanise a less active teammate, but (in theory) not much of a risk, being a poke vote that could be removed without drawing too much attention. In this scenario, Alv knew his vote wouldn't count (due to him not sleeping) and didn't want to risk pulling off the vote when it became a bandwagon. If Jae is Spiked: Would Smart have voted for Jae? In theory, it could be done for similar reasons to Alv voting for Smart. However, that leads to three Spiked publicly interacting like that for no real reason, which is dangerous and thus unlikely. Would Smart have offered to kill Jae? Unlikely for similar reasons, but IMO more plausible. Smart gets a trust boost, prods a teammate into action, and Jae isn't actually in danger. Involves revealing Smart's role, so the Spiked would be relying on him essentially being cleared for the idea to work. (If we consider what Ostrich said to imply that the Spiked were targeting Vine as the Feruchemical zinc, they wouldn't need to worry about him getting scanned.) If Jae is Twinborn: Would Smart have voted for Jae? Yes - ease the pressure of the lynch with a viable target. The vote came rather late in the cycle to be expected to have an effect, though. Would Smart have offered to kill Jae? Again, yes. If he otherwise believed he would be lynched, revealing the extra Spiked kill role (which, in this scenario, they have been holding in reserve) is preferable, letting them hold the line on numbers. Freely killing a Twinborn is a bonus. Alternatively (and more likely), the kill role claim was a bluff and he already knew Jae was elsewhere so the failed 'kill' wouldn't be questioned. If Smart is Twinborn: Would Alv have voted for Smart? Yes. Decent logic, applied to a Twinborn. If Jae is Spiked/Twinborn (doesn't really matter): Would Smart have voted for Jae? Yes, because (as above) he wanted to survive. The issue again is the lateness of the vote. Would Smart have offered to kill Jae? Possibly. Proves his power, and kills an inactive. He is publicly revealed as a kill role, though, which is something that could perhaps have been better done via PM to some trusted people. If Alv is Twinborn: (Humour me; I don't know the persuasive arguments against him.) If Smart is Spiked: Would Alv have voted for Smart? Yes, for obvious reasons. If Jae is Spiked: Would Smart have voted for Jae? Would Smart have offered to kill Jae? These go as for the similar case with Alv being spiked. They're somewhat more likely, however, since there's one less Spiked in the spotlight. If Jae is Twinborn: Would Smart have voted for Jae? Would Smart have offered to kill Jae? As for Alv spiked. Smart is under more pressure here as he doesn't have any indication of which votes will count. If Smart is Twinborn: Would Alv have voted for Smart? Yes. If Jae is Spiked/Twinborn: Would Smart have voted for Jae? Would Smart have offered to kill Jae? As for Alv spiked. I should make a judgement on which case is most likely, but it's late and I feel like I've forgotten something important Probably Jae defending Smart. I might come back and add that tomorrow.

Because putting a name in red tends to attract attention. For example, last time you posted was day 4, and my vote has caused you to post again. (You haven't answered my question, so I guess the vote is staying there for now.) They were charged from NPCs, which means they're the "Two metal spikes" item; they don't have a risk of changing alignment (except potentially to Koloss).

It looks like the game is happening largely in PMs If there were no other (unsuccessful) attacks on PCs, we can probably assume that Vine was killed by the Spiked. It could have been just a lucky hit, but perhaps they knew his power. Ostrich, any ideas? Vine scanned you, so presumably you've been in contact with his circle and hence might have some leads. "So there are people...somewhere out there -" Kirrah waved towards the sky "- who can draw on the air and their drawings will spontaneously make magical -" "I've explained this five times already." "And I still don't believe you! The very idea is just ridiculous. I mean, you could just -" "No more ridiculous than ingesting and oxidizing metals to perform magic, wouldn't you say?" Lord Ostrich was clearly fed up with her confusion. "Of course not. I can burn metal myself, and so can every-" "Social norms are irrelevant! And if you want any further information from me, you will accept that your understanding of the world is limited." "But if -" "No." Kirrah rolled her eyes as Lord Ostrich bent over her sketch, laid out on the ground. "I hope you've got an explanation for floating balls of light too, or you're just as -" "That would be a Seon." "A what?" He waved a hand at her, evidently reluctant to try and explain yet another strange concept. "Fine. Well, this thing -" she nudged the paper with her foot "- is an Aon. So what's new about it? And what kind of magic does it do, anyway? I still think the "new Aon" is a machine, that had to be replaced or something. We don't get new metals, if you're comparing -" "Are you this rude to everyone who offers to help you!?" Kirrah closed her mouth, and when she didn't respond, he sighed. "It's either recently discovered or recently created. And it's... only been known for, perhaps, seven years?" His demeanour had changed. The certainty and superiority in knowledge had left, leaving him only a little more sure of himself than she was. "You don't sound like you actually know." "I used to. Of that I am sure. But there is a hole in my memory, before I took up residence in Twinborn Village. Your image of the new Aon kindled some familiarity, and I suspect my experience then was not dissimilar to your circumstances a few days ago. And that, I believe, is its purpose." He pulled out a handkerchief - bright red, she noted with amusement - before continuing. "There are still questions to be answered, such as how it works so far from Elantris and where the Elantrian who drew it is." And, you know, what they want, what else they can do, how we can stop them...she mentally added. "Nevertheless, I am certain that your general form of the new Aon is incorrect." He looked intently at the paper. "Turn dark where my finger touches you." He began carefully running his finger over the paper, and black marks appeared to hold the line he drew. His other hand still held the handkerchief, which Kirrah was now amazed to see had turned a dull grey. Lord Ostrich seemed to think very little of it, though; when he finished drawing, he stood, casting it aside without a second glance. Kirrah considered the new sketch. "Huh. Three by three, just like the Village." "...Yes," he agreed, in a much darker tone. "Just like the Village."

I'm not too impressed with this bandwagon on Smart. The only useful reason that has been proposed is Alv's point about the probability of an inactive experienced Eliminator. He might be the best choice of the possibilities, but a slew of votes with no counterarguments isn't usually a good sign. That said, Smart has had nearly a day of being the lynch target, and hasn't said anything for himself. And his defence from earlier wasn't exactly convincing. (The lynch isn't going to change between now and the rollover, but it's worth giving my thoughts anyway.) There was no need to be sneaky now. After Mayor Gund had caught her snooping around his house, Kirrah had set to work. Now she had a drawing of the strange symbol, large enough to cover her back. Time to gather some attention, then. She picked up her banjo and headed for the town square. The mood in Twinborn Village was optimistic. Two of the Spiked had already been found, and there couldn’t be that many more around. But they weren’t ready to celebrate yet. Many of the more withdrawn Twinborn had been called to speak, though only a few had acquiesced. Kirrah strode into this debate, banjo in hand. “There’s something more than the Spiked going on here! Sure, we can focus on them for the moment, but what happens when they’re all gone and these deaths are still happening? If you realise there’s more to this mess than meets the eye, take a look at this symbol! It’s been involved in at least one…” As she spoke, she turned in a slow circle, so everyone could get a look at the drawing stuck to her back. Most just rolled their eyes and returned to their discussion. She caught an odd look on Lord Penrod’s face, though, before he turned away. “…Gund in the middle of it! There’s no such thing as holding the line here. If we don’t take action now, it’ll be too late! He’ll control all our minds, then use his new Aon machine, and then you’ll wish you’d done something about it!” None of the villagers were paying her any attention now, even with her banjo to help. Well, she’d spread the message. Now to go find some other people to harass. It was probably worth making a comment on the Spiked before she left, though. It wouldn’t do to be so close to uncovering the truth only to be killed by a hemalurgist. “I’ve seen that Nimiad guy walking around, but he hasn’t shown his face. Anyone know who he is?” ----- Had she actually achieved anything? It was hard to know. She’d managed to corner just about everyone in the village and give her spiel. Nobody seemed to know anything, though, and they were too preoccupied with the Spiked to challenge Gund. She hadn’t even noticed any strange looks aside from Lord Penrod. She would leave her banjo at home, then go find out whether the villagers had broken their stalemate over the Spiked. “First of all, your picture’s wrong.” Kirrah gasped, and leapt backwards. Lord Ostrich was leaning on a wall, arms folded. She noticed a piece of colourful glass in his hand. “W-wrong? What do you mean? Do you know about -” “Yep. That’s not the new Aon. It’s close, but not quite right.” “How do you know?” She instinctively held her banjo before her, as if it were a shield. Lord Ostrich looked thoughtful. “I’m…not sure. But what’s important is that I do. Shall we speak more privately?” Swallowing, Kirrah nodded, and followed Lord Ostrich as he moved away.

There's a disadvantage to this strategy that wasn't present in LG10 - namely, an opportunity cost. An action period spent attacking inactives is one that would otherwise be used for moving/sleeping/searching the room/other power use. It's still generally worthwhile IMO, since pressure on lurkers is always helpful. But for the Village to hold the line against the Spiked, our kill roles will need to put some thought into if they're happy to lose that period. There's also the possible risk of giving away the kill role's position. It's not likely to have any effect, but I'll throw a vote on Nicroburst, since they've been online today. Maill, did you manage to pull anything constructive out of your PM with Winter?

Cleo's grave had still been uncovered when Kirrah eventually woke. She'd briefly considered trying to pry the lid off, but the thought of facing a dead body inside had been too much. And Honerius' house, and presumably body, had been completely destroyed in the fire, and to her knowledge his spikes had not been found. She had no way of following the hint about spikes. What to do next? She could look further into Mayor Gund. Maybe break into his house. The glimpses from his letters had been fascinating, but they weren't enough to build into a proper picture. Anything of more substance would require getting her hands on things he didn't want her to see. Mayor Gund hadn't been present for the lynch of Honerius, or for the cleanup job. Perhaps he was at his house now. Well, any event that would draw him out would have to be a large gathering of the Twinborn, at which she (and her banjo) would likely be missed. Now was as good a time as any. The paths of Twinborn Village were treacherous without the aid of the streetlights. Malrick had taken up Cylkan's tools not long ago, but much of the village was still shrouded in darkness. By the time she could see the light radiating from the Mayor's windows, Kirrah had earned herself three grazes, from tripping seven times. Which, in her opinion, was a pretty good ratio. Slowing her pace, and walking more confidently with the aid of the light, Kirrah walked past the Mayor's house, surreptitiously watching the windows. No movement. Out of sight, she counted ten breaths, then passed again in the other direction. Still nothing. Perhaps Gund had gone to help after all. Next she turned into the alley beside Gund's house. There were no windows to shed light on her path here, so she moved more cautiously, stopping every few steps to listen. The mayor had held at least one clandestine meeting among the piles of rubbish behind his house. He might be there now, and she refused to be surprised by him walking into the house behind her. To be certain, she felt her way carefully through the refuse, before emerging into the alley on the other side. At least, that was the plan. She didn't get more than three steps before tripping on an unseen object at her feet. As she stumbled forward, something broke over her back with an almighty crash, knocking her to the ground. She lay there for a moment, dazed. Surely she...hadn't been attacked. They weren't watching her yet, were they...? Groaning, she pulled herself forward, out from under whatever had fallen on her. It fell with a heavy thump once she was free, and she tentatively felt it. Smooth wood, and heavy. A cabinet perhaps. She leaned on it to climb to her feet, then made her way slowly back to the front of Gund's house. Malrick had evidently come by, because the place was bathed in a faint light with a greenish tinge. Kirrah rounded the corner of the house, then froze. Gund was at the head of the alley with some kind of lamp. They both stared at each other, stunned. Then panic won out, and Kirrah bolted past him. Pointing herself vaguely in the direction of the bazaar, she ran. She scrambled to her feet when she fell, and dodged the occasional startled Twinborn. Eventually she couldn't bring herself to rise, her legs and back aching, and resigned herself to resting for a while. There were people around. Many of them were staring at her. And shops. Good. She'd managed to hold the line she'd chosen, then. Maybe Gund's friends would think twice about coming after her in a public place. She pictured him again, staring at her from the other end of the alley, and realised something was wrong. It was the torch. Gund hadn't been touching it. Instead, it seemed to hover in the air behind him. A floating ball of light. She hadn't seen or heard of anything even remotely similar, which could only mean it was not of this world. This, she thought, just keeps getting stranger.

Didn't you argue otherwise last cycle? Or did I misunderstand you then? So the arguments against Honey Badger are: -They have a metal known to belong to one of the Spiked (Allomantic bronze) -They presented false Allomantic bronze readings to Lev -They strongly defended Winter last round The results of this lynch will be quite interesting. I'd be surprised if Lev and Spencer have gone to such lengths to frame Honey Badger, though I'm not game to put out a vote given his Feruchemical brass claim. Lev, have you compared what Honey Badger sent you to the scan by Phat (I think) on night 2, where the Spiked Allomantic bronze was active? That might make for an interesting comparison. It seems like quite a risk to give out a scan that's clearly only for one room, and if you're correct about Honey Badger, then we might be able to draw something from it.

[RP coming in a bit] Edit: Cleo's hanging had been surprising. Not the fact that she was actually Spiked - killing people on suspicion of being hemalurgists generally came with the assumption that you'd eventually be right. No, what was surprising was Mayor Gund. Sure, his reluctance to carry out the hanging could just be laziness, but Kirrah couldn't shake the feeling that he had known about Cleo. He'd known she was Spiked, and hadn't wanted to kill her. Gund was in the middle of whatever was going on in Twinborn Village, and evidently that included the Spiked. Surely he hadn't brought them here purely to secure his position as Mayor, but then what was their purpose? There had been other blotted letters in Gund’s garbage, and one of them had mentioned “lots of spikes”. Perhaps it wasn’t the Spiked, but the spikes themselves that were needed. She’d found other clues as well. One sheet had indents where something had been traced over with heavy strokes. Careful inking had revealed fragments of the symbol from her dream. There had been a reference to “the new Aon” – a machine of some sort, perhaps? And more than one mention of Pulsers and cadmium – that was important somehow. For now, she had to figure out if Cleo’s spikes were important. She’d watched the “funeral” from a safe distance, and they hadn’t even bothered to fill the grave. Someone clearly wanted to get in, and had bribed – or ordered – the carriers not to complete their job. Stifling a yawn, Kirrah looked over the graveyard again. Still no movement. But they’d be here sooner or later. She just had to keep her eyes open. No, she wouldn’t fall asleep. She had to hold the line of thought. This was crucial. She would figure out who was involved, and then she could – could… It had been a long day. As Cylkan was just beginning his rounds, Kirrah’s eyes were already closed.
