  1. Okay. Time to vote. I've been deliberately even-handed this cycle, in the hope that whoever is lying would take more risks if they thought they had a chance to convince me. That's why I didn't reveal my protection - it would have said something about my prior bias. First: Both of you were too willing to discount me as a suspect. I seem to be discounted because I wouldn't have bothered to send in a kill order if I thought I was roleblocked, yet nobody is surprised that I put in a protection order? This says less about Elbereth (since she believed I was a villager last cycle) than about Mark. Second: Today's votes. On the whole, if Elbereth were evil, it would have been easier for her to convince Mark to vote for me than vice versa. If Mark were evil, then Elbereth's and my posts forced his hand into turning me against Elbereth. So the way things turned out suggests Mark is evil. Third: Araris and Mark's note recipient. Both of you believe Araris was killed because he was the lynchpin of the plan. However, the point of Elbereth's and my suggestion of scanning Araris and sending the note to Elbereth was to ensure there was no lynchpin. Araris was only a lynchpin because Mark made him one. If Elbereth were evil, and planning to kill Araris, she wouldn't have cared which way the note went - in fact, the note going to Araris could be a slight advantage, as she wouldn't have had to lie outright to get Mark lynched. If she'd voted for me at the start of the day, then confirming she'd received Mark's note could have biased him towards trusting her, but I doubt it would have been worth arguing for. Once again, evidence Mark is evil. Finally: Prior suspicion. I protected Elbereth last cycle - the wrong choice (sorry Araris ), but it seems my gut reaction to last cycle liens up with actual analysis this cycle. There's also what I remember from mark at the beginning of the game, like Kynedath defending him from Meta, or this. There were a few points against Elbereth - this post didn't quite sit right when I read it again, for example. But I think Mark is our remaining traitor.
  2. Mark: Elbereth: Duct Tape Araris Araris: (roleblocked) Mark: Snitch on Elbereth, send to Araris Twei: Protect ??? Is that accurate for each player's expected Villager actions? Why this way around? Elbereth pointed this out last cycle. Why the change of tune? Elbereth: Aside from Araris not actually duct taping me, what was the difference to the thread version? Why did Mark know everything when your plans were with Araris? I'll hang on to that for now; you'll find out when I place a vote. I did protect someone. edit: formatting
  3. An intelligent question was asked via PM regarding the win conditions. A combination of vote manipulation, protection and roleblocks mean it's possible for the Trappers to win even when outnumbered. If such a situation arises, the game will continue until the Trappers can no longer win, or the Traders are eliminated.
  4. If I die, it's Araris hiding his duct tape failure. If Araris dies, it's Elbereth hiding her duct tape failure. If Elbereth dies, it's Mark hiding the absence of a note (I vote he scans Araris and sends the results to Elbereth, for this to work). But I have the choice of targeting anyone, because there's nobody to check the results of my action. I'm fine with this plan, because I know I'm not a traitor, but the rest of you might not feel that way. There was an Eliminator kill night five, when three of the traitors were already dead, right? Who got Mark's snitch note that cycle?
  5. Dai Hyd Rogen was the first voice this morning. "Pepe! You've been making a lot of noise, but you haven't said anything of substance. You're trying to hide, aren't you? You're with the trading company." Pepe scoffed. "Mon ami! You should be grateful I've shared such rich wisdom with you. Besides, you seem to be talking without saying anything too, non?" Sean spoke up. "Water taught me everything I know about the Pantheon jungle. He's not a trader." Everyone stared at him. He'd been so quiet before, with only a vague outburst the previous day. First of the Twilight spoke. "How about... we kill Sean, to find out if we can trust Dai?" "Are you crazy? We'll learn so much more by killing Dai!" That was Lewis, glaring at Twilight. "No. No, I'm the better option. He knows the jungle. He'll serve you much better." Lewis rolled his eyes. "That's what I said! We kill Dai!" He levelled his machete at Sean. Twilight sighed. "Fine. 'Dai' it is." ----- Sean's death hadn't turned up anything, which was itself revealing. He'd vouched for Dai Hyd Rogen, and Dawn was tempted to trust his word now. That probably said something about the other trappers. Who had suspected Dai? She surveyed the group. "...Pepe. Where's Pepe?" Saludan perked up. "A mystery! We must find the answer!" "Mystery solved," called Rain grimly, from just out of sight. Dawn hesitated. She had an idea of what they would find. There was no point hiding from it, though. Amaji's jungle would be fattened with trapper blood before this mess could be resolved. She moved forward, and resolved not to let Rain out of her sight again. Something about his behaviour just didn't seem right. ----- Sean Smith (polkinghornbd) was lynched! He was a Sori Trapper! Pepe (IrulelikeSTINK) was killed by the Traders! He was a Sori Trapper! Vote count: polkinghornbd (3): Kynedath, Elbereth, TheMightyLopen IrulelikeSTINK (2): Water, polkinghornbd Mailliw73 (1): RippleGylf
  6. Sorry for not being very active. MR11 is taking up basically all my SE brain time. Does anyone have a player list with the roles we found out before their bodies were snatched? Since I told Kynedath, who was evil: I'm a Blind Bodyguard, and I believe I was the one who saved Ada the first night. Araris, why those three?
  7. Rain was already moving when Dawn woke. That would have been unusual on the Homeisles; he had probably started waking earlier after taking up residence on Patji. She sat up slowly, wiping the sleep from her eyes. Surprised by her movement, Jay leapt into the air, and hit the floor moments later. Dawn had clipped his wings - the Aviar was easily startled, and would disappear into the jungle if he could fly properly. He ran across the floor towards her, and she picked him up, frowning. She normally left the two outer primaries on each side intact, so he could fly a little. They both seemed to be missing on one wing. Rain rolled his eyes. "Dumb bird." "Without him there'd be nightmaws snacking on your corpse." He didn't respond, so Dawn stood up and moved to Sun's food store. "What happened to your Aviar, anyway?" Rain scowled, refusing to meet her eyes. "The Northern Interests Traders happened." Why had Rain come to Amaji without an Aviar to protect his mind? He couldn't have been that certain of finding her and Jay. Perhaps anger had clouded his judgement. Questions for another time. ----- Ahead, Rain stoppped. Dawn felt to the side with her staff, and found firm ground. She leaned outwards, trying to find what obstructed their path. Rain stepped forward slowly, head scanning side to side. "There were people here," he said. "Today. Not long ago." "Where did they go?" She followed him as he moved onward. Some of the brush behind him was flattened. "...Oh. I thought trappers were careful not to leave trails." "They might have fought." That was possible. She could imagine the picture; Dai Hyd Rogen being rebuffed by Saludan, Gylfie and Avis arguing. Dawn felt a pang of regret, for her role in turning Amaji's residents agaisnt each other. "Here." Rain moved off, moving quickly by the standards of the Pantheon jungle. Dawn hurried to keep up. It wasn't far to go before they heard the voices. "...directly! We need direct action!" She recognised the voice as Sean Smith. "That's what I tried to imply," sighed Avis, folding his arms. "You didn't imply anything!" Lewis was almost giggling. "And you won't get the chance to again!" He pulled out a machete. There was a moment of silence. Then, the delicate balance broken, the air was filled with steel. Dawn held her breath as the trappers collectively surveyed the situation. They came to the same realisation she did: there was no consensus. No majority. "How about...we just leave this argument for today. We don't need to kill anyone." More silence. Then Citona sighed. "For now." She lowered her machete, which had been raised in a defensive posture. Most of the trappers turned their attention to her. But one, sensing an opening, moved. Before anyone could react, they lashed out at Karn. The wound was long but shallow, and Karn was not the kind to go down easily. He roared, turning to face his assailant. The trappers backed away, alarmed - all except Avis, who turned his machete from First of the Star in a split-second decision and struck at Karn's calf. Four trappers moved in around Karn. In the confusion following the first strike, Dawn hadn't tracked his initial assailant. Karn didn't seem to care. His face spoke of barely contained rage; even for him, fighting four people was dangerous. He stepped backward slowly. Teldus, Last of the Equinox, Link, and Avis moved in, keeping pace, wary of the big man's reach. The rest of the trappers watched, frozen in the moment. Leaves rustled. Karn looked up in horror as a cluster of cutaway vines fell from the tree he'd inadvertently approached. He screamed when they struck him, and lashed out with his machete in a panic. It was too late; the venomous barbs had already done their job. Dawn had to turn away, hands over her ears. "Tell me if you find any information." Rain nodded, grim. ----- Karn (Elkanah) was a Regular Trapper! One of his Aviar has gone to the first lynch vote. His other Aviar were: Mind Shield, Death Sight Vote tally: TheSilverDragon (2): Mailliw73, Elkanah Elkanah(4): Kynedath, Clanky, TheMightyLopen, Hellscythe Hellscythe (3): IrulelikeSTINK, Paranoid King, RippleGylf Mailliw73 (1): TheSilverDragon

  9. Yes. If they were the first person to vote for themselves, then all their Aviar are lost. Any number of Trappers can have the Sori role.
  10. Hidden and Mind Force only inform the attacker that their action failed. Death Sight and Skilled are both revealed in the writeup, along with the name of the player who was attacked. Yes, if they took an action and/or voted. As with all roleblocks, if they did not do anything that would be blocked, they would not be informed. It's not specifically identified as Mind Force, though. No. Only the attacker knows.
  11. For a while, Third of the Dawn had doubted her plan. Trappers were solitary. A chance meeting in the jungle would usually see them part ways without a single word. And she wanted them to confer as the councils did! What were they going to do, glare at each other? As it turned out, there were not as many glares as she'd expected. Some of them did, eyes full of the animosity that unfamiliar situations could inspire. Others seemed more relaxed. Two seemed curious more than anything else. Several minutes of silence passed. Then one raised his machete. "You," he said, voice oddly accented, "are with them." His accused raised an eyebrow, but another voice sounded. "You move too fast. What do you know?" And the hardest part was done. The group's conversation shifted back and forth between accusations of allegiance with the Northern Interests traders and the best traps to set at a safecamp. Really, it didn't matter what they said; the most important part was that the words were there at all. Jay hissed at something outside her vision, and struck his beak against her shoulder. Dawn turned. "Ah. So you did come." "It works better than I expected." Fourth of the Rain, her brother, looked back at the group. The crowd. "Look, they have made a decision." One of the trappers had made a mistake, it seemed. The crowd had turned against him. He didn't argue, not any more, and didn't even look surprised when angry voices became machete blades. Dawn watched, horrified and fascinated. It was a quick death, of course. No sense letting an enemy throw you off balance when a brush with the wrong leaf could be fatal. But when the trappers searched his body, searching for a sign of the traders' influence, they found only his notebook. Rain shrugged, apparently unsurprised. "Do you have a safecamp?" Sun's book should show the way. "Yes." ----- Axies (Phattemer) was lynched! He was a Regular Trapper! One of his Aviar was given to the first voter. Phattemer (4): Paranoid King, Arraenae, Mailliw73, Elbereth Adavantos (1): IrulelikeSTINK Mailliw73 (2): luckat, TheMightyLopen Shallan (2): Elkanah, Clanky TheSilverDragon (2): Shallan, Water
  12. PAFO They're split evenly between the two, with a die rolled if it's not an exact multiple. I'm guessing you mean Mind Force? It stops all incoming and outgoing actions, including the Trader/Patji kills, giving Aviar, vote changes, and all Aviar. The only exception is the Hidden role, which takes precedence. The targeted player's vote doesn't count. Aviar movement from code guesses is not affected, so they can still gain and lose Aviar that way.
