  1. Yes, Tieb´sPetLurg, it did remind me of the Elatrian´s AonDor sigils. I wonder how far it goes into Cosmere mechanics... Maybe the magical systems resonate with each other. Or the shards are so intrinsically connected that they ressonate with each other. It could be a good questios for Brandon: "Are all the Shards intrinsically connected?" or "Do all the shards ressonate with each other?" This could shed some light on the relatioship between the shards.
  2. You all remember when Kabsal showed Shallan his proof of the Allmight existance. Well, I stumbled upon this https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10152503347178033&set=vb.75627363032&type=2&theater An experiment similar to the one he shows, using a tone generator linked to a metal plate covered with salt. The field is known as cymatics and many of the symbols used by Brandos were drawn from cymatic figures. One thing I am quite certain now: Things on Roshar are liked to sound and frequency at some basic level.
  3. Odium is very democratic and egalitarian - he hates everyone equally, without distinction. When everyone else is destroyed and without any focus for it´s divine hate, he will turn it upon itself and self destroy. Then the universe will be quiet, tidy and clean.
  4. Everyone with a cardiovascular understanding, yes. And I think you hit some spot, Sanderson is scientifically savvy enough to have it planned this way.
  5. Burn iron and steel so you can walk your dog without getting of the couch. That the dog have a metalic leash is an understatement, ok?
  6. Nice catch on the Forgers. It really looks significant. Upvoted. I guess Brandon stated that all magic systems could work on other shardworlds. Some in a easy way, some in a hard way.
  7. Yolen... I would prefer Yolen. Since all started there I would have the chance to absorb something.
  8. Scadrial and Roshar. Scadrial for Hemalurgy and Roshar for all those surges (I believe they will count to thirty, isn´t it?). Soon I would be Sylar Knight (yeah, yeah... Heroes reference)
  9. The act of holding the power (any one of them) is described as mind spanding and the "user" experiences hyper reality. This is very, very similar to what is described on the Wheel of Time series. Só, thanks to this similarities, I tend to agree with Shadmancer. We will see adiction factor and, probably some burnouts.

    Shardbear er....
  11. True. Maybe Adonalsium established the realms first - or created them by the sheer force of it's existance. When it shattered, the other shards kept the field up. The more I think, the more sense it makes.
  12. Sir? A glass of wine. Cosmenere grapes if you please.
  13. The Realmatic Theory gives us 3 Realms. Physical, Spiritual and Cognitive. Shadesmar is said to be the Cognitive Realm and a waystation to other worlds. But, is this realms a part of the Universe Itself or they exist because of the presence of Aldonalsium or the 16 shards? My speculation is that the 16 shards create a reality field that is responsible for all the magic systems as it is responsible for the existence of all 3 realms. So... what´s the implication of this? First: Cosmere is a Sandbox World and you can worldhop outside Cosmere, since Shadesmar does not exist outside the Shardic Field (Felt myself like Spock here ). Second: As Odium splinters the other shards, this Shardic Field weakens. The local effects much more strongly felt than the overall effect. That would explain why Sel´s shadesmar is so dangerous for there is not enough power on the Shardic Field to stabilize it. But as the theory goes, the field on all other shardworlds have weakened. Third: As the Shardic Field weakens, so the magic systems will do so. All Cosmere tales show some kind of wax and wane on magic. This is pure speculation.
  14. Use bendalloy so you can sleep some minutes more in the morning.
  15. Since it´s quite frequent misspell Shardbear for Shardbearer, here´s a shardbear for your enjoyment!
  16. Well, a little research shows up that Balderdash is a board game of bluffing and trivia created by Laura Robinson and Paul Toyne. The game was first released in 1984, under Canada Games. It was later picked up by a U.S company, The Games Gang, and eventually became the property of Hasbro, and finally Mattel. The game is based on a classic parlor game called Fictionary. The game has sold over 15 million copies worldwide to date. It is aimed at fans of word games, such as Scrabble. So, its a meta reference about wordgames and wordplay.
  17. Yes, it makes sense. We know that the parshendi infused with the odium spren can take new frightful forms. It is possible that they can become thunderclasters and/or the other voidbringer forms.
  18. It is an obvious clue, sure. But as I read the audiobook, it slipped past me. Your question raises another: do the shardholders control this "gate function" of their shardpool? I ask that bacause on Sel, there are no shardholders and the shardpool is still working. Albeit, I believe the dangers of travelling from and to Sel maybe due to this fact. What do you think?
  19. He came from peak ocean... did we find the shardpool and has it slipped under our noses??
  20. Since White Sands is the first novel written by Brandon Sanderson, it is somewhat safe to say that, chronologically, white sands comes way before The Mistborn trilogy.
  21. I cannot avoid the topic. Aluminium foil hats are so Stephen King´s "Black House". Back to our sales! Dakhor Monk´s orthopedidic services!
  22. And Marbles! Marbles for all kinds of marble games you can think about. Just take care! Sometimes the marbles may want to play by themselves.
  23. Think about it, Devotion and Dominion were splintered. So, there must be a lot of splinters around. Scatered, in my opinion. I believe that the elantrians are the result of a splinter investing itself on a suitable human ( correct SDNA ). And I believe that Elantris Shardpool received much more splinters and became sentient. Imagine a sentient shardgate, with a misguided (see nightblood for misguidedness) sense on the Intent left by Devotion and you could see a really really problematic gate. One that offers you the conforts of giving up. edit: spelling corrections
