Fitz 7 (Fool's Assassin) was shocking. That is all I'm going to say because I don't want to spoil it. If you must refrain from visiting Amazon for it, perhaps your local library?
-
Maxal, I was the one that downvoted you on this post. You're making some wild, baseless comments (like how most people don't want to read about Szeth's backstory, and how it won't tell us anything important), which I completely disagree with. You may not be interested in such things because you're fixated on Adolin, but other people are. I think Szeth's back story will be very interesting. Not only will we find out more about the Shin and the Stone Shamanate, but we'll also find out more about Cultivation (assuming we are right and she is hiding out in Shin), the Honourblades, probably the Heralds too, as we know at least one of them has been to retrieve their Blade. Yes, Adolin's storyline is a good one, and I'm also looking forward to seeing how that is worked out, but I'm not going to focus solely on one of the characters when they are all interesting. Besides, look at Brandon's other books. Elantris, Mistborn, Warbreaker... The 'bad guys' in those all thought they were doing good things. Here we have a contrast to that. Someone who did the right thing, and was made Truthless for it, and basically then sent out into the world to act as an assassin for anyone who picked up a particular rock. He knows fine well that what he does is evil, but that was the punishment bestowed upon him by his leaders, and he accepted it. Of course, now we know he was right, that's going to be another interesting dynamic to watch when he returns home.

Suicide Squad will never happen, thanks to DC's insistence on keeping the cinematic universe, and TV universe separate. Such a shame as Michael Rowe played an excellent Deadshot. This is also why we never saw Harley Quinn in Arrow, even if we were teased with her voice in one of the earlier Suicide Squad episodes. Also, I never realised Deathstroke was part of the Squad. That was something they avoided in the show. Are you now completely up to date with Arrow/Flash? I only ask so we talk about the finales of both series. Definitely looking forward to Legends of Tomorrow, although I do have to chuckle a little at how the darling couple on Dr Who, Rory and Amy, have ended up working for the grand enemies of the comic book world - Rory for DC, and Amy for Marvel.

Soldier's Son and its sequels were terrible, I thought. As a total contrast though, all of her Farseer books have been great. I'm not entirely sure who this whiny person is in the Liveship books that grew on you. I can think of a few like that. As for your English and the use of the word 'it'. If you are unsure on a gender, or want to keep it to yourself, you should refer to the person you are speaking about as 'them' (as in "I'm not sure if they are male or female" - even applies when talking about a single person). Same goes for pets, cats, dogs, etc. Or, if you know the gender of a dog, use that instead.

My song request: "There’s Just Nothing Better Than A Beard" by The Beards (yes, apparently this band and song do actually exist - I'm as shocked as you are). I'm too tired to do much in the way of analysis right now, not to mention supposed to be working, but I think our lack of lynch votes for people last day cycle was because of the sheer number of people who said they would be away, or barely on over the weekend. I just hope it's a trend that does not continue, otherwise this is going to be a very long and boring game. I'm still slightly suspicious of Hero, although his post at the end of last cycle does shed some more light onto his plan, and explains my fears about it. I also have reservations about Renegade, although that may just be because he is away this weekend, and may not be back at a computer yet. We'll see how that plays out.

I'm going to pass on voting this cycle. It's too late to poke vote someone, and I've pretty much been out all weekend, so haven't been able to do much other than scan the thread. About the only things that jumped out at me are Hero's posts. I can see the benefit of having a stockpile of Stormlight, but asking people not to use Gravitation when we have it fairly well confirmed that the eliminators used it to kill someone seems a little off. Coupled with his first two posts which provided handy information, but nothing new, makes me wonder if he is trying to look active, while not really contributing anything of benefit. Not going to vote though, because like I said, I've not properly analysed the thread so may be missing something, but I'm too tired for that now, so I'll see you all in the night thread

Blademaster, I asked you once, a while ago, not never saw a reply... What was the worst Stormlight Pun Ever? I love bad puns
-
I've not yet seen Ant Man, but I'm looking forward to it. For some reason, I'm not expecting it to be as big as the likes of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America (pun not intended). From the trailers, it seems to have a different feel to it, in the same way AoS and Daredevil have different feels to them. My only real criticism to the phase one movies was that they were all the same. Hulk was Hulk vs nasty Hulk (Abomination is his name?). Thor was demigod vs demigod guardian robot thingy. Iron Man was Iron Man vs Overweight Iron Man. Captain America, which seems to break the mold, is even US secret weapons division vs Nazi secret weapons division. Iron Man 2 was nearly the same, only instead of someone making a bigger and better Iron Man suit, they made lots of them and turned them into robots. And a bigger and better Iron Man suit. Even with this, they were all still good movies, and Avengers capped them off nicely. Phase two has been a lot better, especially Winter Soldier, which I thought was brilliant, and Guardians of the Galaxy, which I think is just sheer excellence. Dark World was pretty good, but not the best by far. Like Quiver said, they starred the superheroes, but were about something else.

I have a plan. Well, about 12% of a plan. More an idea really. Why don't all of the refugees come forward and identify themselves? We can then have them scanned and our Radiants will know who can safely be made Squires. I'll admit, that's about as far as I thought this plan through, so I know fine well I'm not looking at the flaws. I figured I'd get my idea out early in the cycle, so everyone can pull it apart and either discard it, or turn it into something workable. I'll be thinking about it too, and will add anything else I come up with later. Of course, the obvious downside is that if the Refugees do come forward, it's pretty simple to then work out who is Radiant, and who isn't. Perhaps we can come up with a way around this, PMs or some such, but this is why I opened it up for everyone to discuss. On another note, if you are someone who can scan people, I'd like to request that you scan me and confirm me as friendly. It may not mean much now, but later, once your role is public, you can immediately say who you have and haven't cleared.

Haha! I have found my spren... IAmTheBeard, my RP character on these boards is Bortholemew the Blind, beardomancer, and bonded to a beardspren. If YouAreTheBeard, you must be my beardspren I'm with you on Szeth's backstory. I think we're going to discover a lot from that, including why he was made Truthless; how he knew the Radiants were returning; and how Darkness got his Honourblade back; more about Cultivation (another reason for Szeth's story to be book 5. I think when he returns to Shin, something will happen that means Cultivation dies). I also think that one of Dalinar's trials as a Bondsmith will be bringing the Skybreakers back to Urithiru and the Radiants, including Szeth.
-
Bortholemew the Blind offered Smeagol a beardnut. "Very tasty, and very scrumptious," he said to the small, odd creature. "I don't think we'll find many fish around here, but we'll see if we can't get you some once we reach Urithiru."` Another great reference there Aonar I'm going to be out for a lot of today and tomorrow, so I may not be able to post much. I'll be back when I get the chance though.

I do not remember that, actually. Makes sense though. So, 423,077 is a lower end estimate, and could in fact be double that if he gets bored part way through and writes Szeth's or Eshonai's book as well.
-
@natc: Unfortunate, maybe, but I've been that way since birth, so I don't know any different. Convenient, quite possibly. @Oudeis: Ah, yes, I didn't think of a muscle suit. That may negate the cold, just a little. Another thought... From my earlier post: Or, better yet, set up some kind of fluorescent/glowing thing in the centre, so you could go as a Seon.
-
55,000 words, and only 13% done. That puts us on an estimated 423,077 words in total for SA3. So... just a novella then, Brandon?
-
A few chapters before they depart on the expedition onto the Shattered Plains, Shallan sends a message to Paloma saying Jasnah's notes hint at something out on the Shattered Plains, possibly some lost treasure (I forget the actual quote now). I think that is why Sebarial agreed to go with Dalinar. He saw a chance for possible profit, without most of the other Highprinces taking their cut.

I can certainly try, and although I don't recall which eye it was in the book, on my costume, it will have to be my left eye. That one already doesn't work, so having it covered won't blind me like it would if I cover my right eye.
-
Hi guys, Unlike most of you in here, I have no artistic ability, whatsoever. I am, however, not too bad when it comes to making things, especially pieces of kit. In October there is a convention which Brandon will be attending, and I was planning on going as Sadeas. A couple of friends of mine have offered to help me create a costume, and I was thinking why not go for the most obvious costume for someone playing Sadeas? His Shardplate. I believe my friends and I can make it, but I'd like to be able to give them some concept sketches to work from. I've checked through the gallery, and asked Google, and there are many, many pictures of the more popular characters, and a few of just random Shardplate, but I didn't find a single one of Sadeas. So, would anyone be willing to create a sketch of Sadeas in his Shardplate please?

Bortholemew the Blind paused, watching as the dawn grew... darker? Surely it should be the other way around. Looking up, he watched, as the moons of Roshar began to track backwards across the sky, until it was merely early evening. Again. This was a very strange land. As he pondered the mysteries of Roshar, and the mystery of what happened to the bridges, Bortholemew pulled a brown paper wrapped parcel from his beard, opened it, and said, loudly enough for everyone to hear... "Would anyone like a beardnut? They're chocolate dipped."

Sadeas is a good choice, if I can get the Shardplate made up (might actually be possible), so I think I'll keep him in reserve. Koloss is another brilliant suggestion. Not too convinced I want to paint myself blue and walk around in a loincloth all weekend though. It's in October - if I tried this, you'd not need to paint me blue by the end of the weekend, I'd be there already, just from the cold. Thanks for all your suggestions guys. Much appreciated Edit: Another idea: Get a giant hamster ball, paint swirly lines on the outside, so the face of it changed whenever I moved anywhere, and go as Pattern Edit 2: Ok, so I've settled on Sadeas. I will be presenting the people helping me make my costume with two options. We can go for the easy way (make something that would look like one of Sadeas' random outfits), or the hard way (Sadeas' Shardplate - they may well go for this, just for the challenge). Time and cash permitting, if we go for the hard option, I may well have Oathbringer made up too Would you guys be willing to help out? I'll need any and every quote out there referring to the red Shardplate Sadeas wears. I've already started compiling them, and have a comment from Elhokar's chasmfiend hunt, and another from when Kaladin first sees Sadeas crossing a bridge.
-
I'll admit, Rock is tempting, although I don't think I could do his accent justice. I also like InstantWalrus' idea for Hoid.
-
Not a bad suggestion, Slater, thanks
-
So, I'm planning on going to FantasyCon in Nottingham (UK) in October, and I was thinking about costumes I could wear. While I'd love to put together some kind of Mistborn outfit, or even Bridge Four's uniform, I really don't have the figure to look the part - whoever heard of a fat bridgeman? So, I was hoping you guys may be able to offer a spot of help. I need to come up with a character fairly quickly, in order to get the costume done in time, but I can only really think of one that might work. Sebarial, as I recall, was described to be a fairly robust chap, with a tendency to produce wind at inopportune times. I can do that too (might even get a whoopy cushion to incorporate it into the costume somewhere, so I can produce inappropriate noises when the situation calls for it). Can anyone else think of any chubby males from the Cosmere? Also, could anyone point me in the direction of a good description for said chubby character? Thanks

I have two massive criticisms about Age of Extinction.
