Question, did Tyn's ghostblood assassins drown following the attack? I assume they did.
-
Just a thought could nalan have saved Szeth in order to set him against the stone shamans, not for revenge or justice, but for something more tangable, 7 honorblades. Tipping the balance of power on roshar.

What do you think is going to happen in book three
Radiant_thoughts replied to shadewolf's topic in Stormlight Archive
I see Darkness and Szeth going to shinovar and leaving with the honorblades. That would make them much stronger than our new KR. They will battle each other. -
In Szeth he sees a weapon like everyone else has so far. They may not b surgebinders now, but if they can get the honourblades in shinovar, to go along w darkness's honorblade? And nightblood, they have an arsenal that eclipses our current KR. It sets up new heralds vs new KR.

I think Jasnahs theory is clearly the true one. I think the shin and darkness are frantically trying to prove themselves right despite evidence they r wrong. Basically denial.

I think nalan is using Szeth to go to shinovar and liberate the seven honorblades so that his neo skybreakers can be on at the very least equal footing with new radiants. He would have an advantage in my estimation. A huge advantage unless the KR get an influx of members. Nalan might recruit, to szeths dismay, the stone shamans to his side, because they will be proficient w blades. This is an arc we could see in book 3.

I have a similar theory about these "godspren" for lack of a better word, being the dawnshards. And hence bondsmiths having access to dawnshards. The more I think about it, it seems to be one or the other, and I like your theory. Idk. That's the fun of speculations. I have a related question, does the nightwatcher equal the old magic, or does it only make up some of it. Basically is there more old magic or just the nightwatcher.

Makes sense.

SPOILERS Theory: Dawnshards are godspren.

This just makes sense there r prolly ten of them. The stormfather is most likely one. Since brandon said one was different from the rest, maybe one is evil or bound to someone evil. -

I thought they were a kind of shardblades. -
Can Spren kill when they arent shardblades?

Sorry phone keeps changing spren to soreness. -

Branding did get very descriptive in the scene when Adolin was having a hard time keeping the focus it took to throw his blade. That was a dead, mindless soreness so maybe a live soreness has similar capabilities. -
Namely the stormfather is a dawnshard. We may see Dalinar control the highstorm with one later on and the possibilities are endless. Anyone find this plausible.
-
What if dawnshards are the godspren so to speak, including the Stormfather, Cuctish(so). Then maybe we will see dalinar wield one. He could control the storm. I think this could be it.
-
It occurs to me that since a soreness can effectively become any weapon during a fight, can u use one to kill over a long distance. What are the limitations? Maybe this is a dumb question, but maybe the shardblades are only scratching the surface.

What do you think is going to happen in book three
Radiant_thoughts replied to shadewolf's topic in Stormlight Archive
Well personally I think that Szeth will drive the book. He will most assuradly confront the Shin that made him truthless. He will hopefully go after Mr. T next. The fact that Nightblood only destroys evil might make for some interesting complications. Would it want to kill Radiants, even Mr. T is trying to save humanity albeit in a twisted, egocentric way. Kaladin will probably be off trying to help in Althekar with the riots and such. Towards the end of the book he will be at the head of a full or near full roster of close to ten KR. One from each order. Getting ready for an epic battle against Eshonni and the voidbringers. Shallon will prolly progress w Adolin, hope there is no love triangle w Kaladin, but its set up to happen. Maybe Kaladin will find his own love interest, Jasnah or another new female radiant. Shallons art and lightweaving will progress. She will finally learn soulcasting from Jasnah. The ghostbloods will intrigue and confuse her, but by the end she will made a difficult decisions. The addition of her brothers will also further complicate her life. Dalinar and Navani will grow closer. He will be put in a tough spot when he finds out Adolin killed Sadeas. He will progress w his powers and his attention will shift more to helping Renarin. We may finally learn more of his backstory. I could go on and on, but ill stop here. Someone important will die too, I'm guessing Elkohar. Some political intrigue will ensue. -
Now that he is reborn as one of Nalan's Skybreakers, he is told he can go home and have vengence for being unfairly made truthless. My question is since book three is Szeth's do u all think he will go to Shinovar first, or will he help Darkness hunt radiants. Now that Taln and the everstorm have hit do the skybreakers stop trying to prevent the desolation and start helping the radiants fight for survival. A sidebar to that could darkness hunting the future radiants have to do with some sort of agreement forbidding the reforming of the KR. IE the recreance? Anyway back to Szeth, do u think he'll go after past "employers", namely King T, and the Parshendi?

Chapter 84 (Decoded) Epigraph Message
Radiant_thoughts replied to Argent's topic in Stormlight Archive
Maybe odium offered to end the desolations, or highstorms, or held Honor hostage, but had some leverage that he basically said abandon your oaths or else. It could b quite a few things, from destroy shadesmar, to the world or whatever. We know that for the radiants to abandon their spren, powers and oaths they had to be put in a screwed up, lesser of two evils kind of situation. Also how long did the radiants go on after the heralds abandoned the oathpact, and was Urithru around in the days of the heralds? -
[Theory]Iyatil, Mraize and the 2nd Shardpool
Radiant_thoughts replied to shinintendo's topic in Stormlight Archive
Could it be so simple as to try and confuse misdirected Veil (Shallon) when Mraize refers to I as his babsk. He seems in charge, she is the one tailing Shallon which seems like the underlings job. Then when she says that Veil has managed to impress Mraize which is impossible to do it just comes off like she's giving Shallon kudos for impressing the boss. He is behind the bosses desk so to speak during the meeting. As far as the shardpool, I'm not sure. The way he talks to Shallon in urithru seems like he was the boss. -
Sorry spell check. Babsk is what I was going for.

Maybe it has something to do w the dead larkin paperweight. Syllable certainly is fascinated w it. In the than interlude we know her banal sailed around the world at the drop of a hat in a deal so important that it has been in the works for years. It is referred to as priceless. We see a live one in action when darkness uses one on lift. Rysns live one will almost certainly play a role, but Branding made too much out of the value of a dead one for it too mean nothing. It could contain a dormant soreness, or serve as a recorder of some kind, but I know it serves a purpose.

We know from the end of WoE that some shardblades are going to need new homes, so I was wondering what u all think that will n like. First and foremost we have Jezrien's honorblade, but also we have the non-honorblade Dalinar releases as a condition of his bond w the Stormfather, also it seems Renarin will give up his blade and plate? (Not sure about plate), and Oathbringer is just chilling on a retraced roof since Adolin had his encounter w Sadias. Any thoughts?

We know odium was not originally of roshar. Could his arrival have changed the very fabric of the planet. As in topography, and such. Just thinking outside the box.

I just posted this in another thread, it is similar to some theories here. Crazy thought that I haven't seen mentioned, Brandons answer makes me think that instead of switching blades maybe he switched the madman himself. Granted I know very little about the heralds or taln in particular, but his repetitive loop of info and willingness to be kept in captivity by naive people who don't grasp the implications of his return, as opposed to showing a little surgebinding to get everyone's attention make me suspicious of misdirection. But this may be better than hiding his return bc it may allow some chance of getting people to take the desolation seriously. I'll admit that the end when he catches the dart it made me second guess my theory. Then I thought if it was an act then that was how the impostor became so hyperalert when we know hr had been in a stupor since returning to roshar. We know worldhopping and various cosmere magic systems r at hoods disposal. Hr shows his mastery of illusion when he tells kaladin the story. He effectively makes him see as he wishes. This could b similar just on a grander scale. Maybe this faux-Taln is roshar's version of a kandra. I know its crazy, but this mystery is more than a simple switching of swords I'm sure of it.
