Anniversary Game: In the Re-Wake of the Koloss
dowanx replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I started this game trying to be vocal in the forums. Everyone was saying we need information and that was the best way to get it. I decided to voice my concerns for Wilson and Eol. Over the next couple cycles I found out how truly wrong I was. Not only both were innocent they were our mistborn and seeker. Instead of helping our cause it seemed that I was causing more harm. I decided I wasn't going to throw out suspicions or votes without some real evidence. That is why I didn't vote for Day 2 or 3. I simply didn't have what I thought at the time was good evidence. Day 4 came and a bandwagon formed on Ashette. I didn't vote because of the vast amount of votes on Ashette. After Day 4 ticked over I reevaluated how I was playing and realized I should probably adjust how I was playing the game. I was being too quiet and it didn't seem to help at all how we were playing. Day 5 came around and I tried to see how I could help. I didn't have any solid suspicious so most of the day was spent re reading the post, but sadly not contributing. I decided to vote for Peng mostly because of the other suspicions people had of him and because Maill and Clancy voted for him. Day 5 ticked over and my vote was soothed. This was a surprise, why would someone sooth me? I posted in the forum that I was soothed, but no one really said anything about it and it was dropped. Day 6 came and another bandwagon formed, but this time on winter. It looked like he was going to be lynched regardless of my vote so I didn't vote. Writing this up I realize why there is suspicion on me. I have made some very bad blunders that are probably being read the wrong way. I guess the best defense I can make is my inexperience. If I was spiked I would have a trusted group of people I could ask advice from and would not have made these obvious mistakes. I have only had 3 PMs all game. The group PM that was set up at the start by Wilson and Clancy (which wasn't even really used), a PM with Wilson (that ended after accusing her) and a PM with Wyrm (which didn't last very long). Looking at that I realize that was probably another large blunder. I should of tried to have more conversations via PMs and tried to build a trust network. -

I am going to vote for Peng mostly because of the reasons posted by other people. If I have time tonight I will try to post a better explanation. I'm awesome because I'm awesome! -

I did mention Claincy several times, but your right I did go after Wilson more. The main reason I started my post was because I thought it was odd that neither of them died. I went after Wilson more because from what I read and my gut. Simply, she was suspicious while I found Claincy only mildly suspicious at the time. -

I raised my concerns after Kas was killed because I thought Wilson or Claincy were going to die that night. Neither died and then it wasn't even brought up. I felt that that issue needed to be addressed further. Edit Color I'm Awesome because I'm Awesome -

If I left something out when quoting you please let me know because that is not what I intended. I presented what I thought were valid points and needed to be addressed. You assumed a leadership type role and then started showing inconsistencies. Maybe those inconsistencies didn't appear like inconsistencies to you, but you have to remember we don't have access to all of the information you do. You only started offering up details when I started my earlier posts. You asked for our trust without really providing us a reason to trust. I am not asking you to tell us a role or anything (that would be very stupid to do and not beneficial), but don't act a way that might be perceived as suspicious. You have addressed almost all of the points so... Wilson. I do think we need more discussion from other people. The cycle is half way over and not nearly enough talking as been going on to make an informed vote. BTW I must say these games are pretty fun although it is going to be horrible for my schooling... I spent all day today reading this forum instead of paying attention in class! On a side note how to do you get it so when you are quoting someone it says *player* said. The PMs set you up as potential leaders and garnered you a lot of information. There is more value gained then just what is said in the group PMs, which as you stated is very dangerous to the spiked or very beneficial if you are spiked. Which is why I am confused they would take out Kas instead of you. With the amount of skilled players here I doubt the classic Eliminator style would be what they are playing. Although I could be giving the spiked way more credit then deserve. I don't think the spiked were ok with the options on the table. An eliminator that has completely flown under the radar wouldn't put themselves in that situation, but you and Eol haven't flown under the radar. Why else would Eol last minute vote like that? I'll be very interested in what connection you come up with. This was meant to be shown as circumstantial evidence. You said this is exactly how an eliminator should play and that (at least from what I see) is how it is being played out. Maybe I am wrong but we will see. So you and Eol came up with a plan to last minute vote on Sart? Would you flesh out why that was a smart plan especially with all of the suspicion on Eol at the time? Condoned is actually the wrong word. I don't think the spiked group would come up with that plan and risk it. I do think Eol did the PM Phishing without the consent of the spiked, but the spiked didn't know of it until afterwords. Eol even said he didn't expect people to find out for a least a couple rounds. If a member of a spiked group did it without the others knowing I would expect it to play out like it currently is. At least that is the only reason i can see for Eol's actions. My purposes are to try to figure out if you can be trusted or not. I don't think I conveniently twisted anything... Although you have tried to turn my post into something sinister and suspicious. Why else would I all of a sudden be near the top of your suspect list? If you have questions about my behavior that you think would benefit everyone to know please ask. That is all I have done with you and nothing you haven't done to others. I'm Awesome because I'm Awesome! -

I actually should retract saying Kas was suspicious of Wilson. I misread something which lead me to that conclusion. That being said I reread most of the thread and couldn't find any solid evidence that he did trust you. He did take your word regarding that role reveals happened with Eol's phishing PM or at least said he was going to, but that is all I can see. So claiming that he had trust in you doesn't seem correct unless he sent you something in PMs I am missing. The other points I brought up haven't really been answered. If everyone isn't on your suspect list, that is suspect itself! I'm Awesome because I'm Awesome -

I am deeply concerned that Wilson or Clanicy wasn't the one to die tonight. Wouldn't the spiked want to knock out the two "leaders" who are fostering PM discussion? That compiled with the suspicions people are having on Wilson makes me extremely worried. I thought this was going to be the very first thing brought up in the thread today. Why isn't this being discussed? Also the votes last round were spread out so much that it only took a 3rd to swing the vote to someone. In my mind that means the spiked got to choose the kill. Think about it... if you were on the spiked team and could sway the vote that easily why would not do so? Especially with the circumstances giving you a chance to (somewhat) explain your actions as Wilson has done. I should also point out that we had a threat kill then a normal kill then a threat kill. (Only Wilson so far says Kasmir wasn't a threat kill) During the first day cycle I sent Wilson a PM because I had some questions. This is my first real faction game and I figured Wilson or Clancy was the smart person to ask since they were setting themselves up as a leader role. Wilson explained to me why it would be bad to only do threat kills and that the spiked should spread out the kills than focus on one group. This seems to be exactly what is going on. Eol being the last vote for Sart can be easily explained. This is what I think happened... The spiked want a large split vote, like what happened, so it only takes potentially one person to guarantee they get to choose who dies. They accomplished this either through poke voting or by luck. Towards the end of the cycle they have a three way two vote split, but of all experienced players. Wilson throws his vote on Sart with five hours to go. Causing a four way tie with the hope that a non spiked will seal the deal and kill Sart. It gets closer to the end of the cycle and they realize that no one else is going to vote so they quickly tell Eol to throw the last vote onto Sart. The reason Eol should do this is he is is already considered as dead because of his phishing PMs. If some random spiked player voted at the last moment suspicion would be thrown on that player so why not get every last mile they can out of Eol. The end of the cycle ticks and the person they want dead is dead. Sart is the one they want dead because all of the other potential players are considered experienced and/or one or more are spiked. Earlier I thought Eol wasn't spiked because of the plan he did. I spent a lot of time thinking about this and realized that I was dead wrong. I do believe Eol is spiked, but still believe that the plan he did wasn't condoned by the entire spiked group. Should we lynch Eol... yes just not yet. Wilson is potentially a much bigger problem. All of this combined has me extremely worried Wilson is spiked and if Wilson is spiked then Clancy is most likely spiked as well which means all of those PM groups are compromised. If this is the case, which the evidence leads me to believe, then we as the village are in a lot of trouble. With all of the evidence: setting up PM groups, Wilson's late vote, the suspicions innocent players had of him and other suspicious activities... I am going to vote for Wilson. Edit Color I'm Awesome because this post killed me -

My two cents... I don't think Eol is spiked. In my opinion it was a risky gambit and I don't think a collaboration of people would come up with that plan. I am a little confused as why so many people are voting for Hreo. I have read the explanations, but it seems a little weak especially since it is causing such a bandwagon to form. Honestly I am still trying to decide who I am going to vote for. I was going to vote for Dom, but I don't think we should kill an inactive player as it would probably give us the least amount of information. Anyways I am going to reread the thread and then make a vote. Until then my vote is going to go to Ash. Edit Color I'm awesome because I'm Awesome! -

Ament was up late again working on yet another stereotypical robe for Baron Von Piffertiff. He was a pompous chull, but at least he kept Ament in business. That much Ament should be thankful for even if he was banished to this ash stained pit. Tyrian Falls wasn't home to the type of customer Ament was trained to serve, but he was at least making ends... A loud crack sounded throughout the night. Almost as if a large timber exploded! Ament rushed outside and saw an inferno of flame where the barracks should have been. He gaped with awe at the inferno. Ever since childhood Ament had admired Fire, but rarely got a chance to see one so large. The way the Flames would dance from side to side, caressing then devouring whatever they touched. The way Embers would pulse that hypnotic pulse of theirs suggesting at some form of life or sentience. He could watch them for hours. His gaze was interrupted as one of the town folk doused a section of the wall. They were rushing about trying to suppress the beautiful creature. Only then did Ament realize that people were actually trapped inside the barracks! Worried, he dashed back into his shop grabbing blankets and whatever he could to help treat the wounded. He had to help those he could. For some reason Fire always gets the blame when someone dies. - I am pretty new to this and picked Tailor as a role, but when I tried to write some RP I realized two things. First, I know next to nothing about tailoring and second the little I do know makes for some boring RP... so my guy is a firebug as well! Probably not a smart move having my character admire the burning barracks, but oh well he needed to have something unique about him. Anyways onto strategy... I agree with Rent on most of his observations and suggestions. Smokers should turn off their copperclouds. We have to start building some verified trust and the sooner we can do this the better. Lurchers should Lurch themselves. At least for a little while until we can start making educated guesses. Coinshots probably shouldn't kill anyone tonight either. If we have multiple deaths I think it is a safe assumption the Spiked have a Coinshot or Mistborn. As for the Tineyes putting something in their messages, I am not sure if this is a good idea or not. There is going to be a lot of analysis going on here so if you do make a code make sure it is an extremely good code. Or set a trap for a fakeclaim... that would be interesting. As Ament watched Ashette start crying he almost feel bad. 'She doesn't even recognize you! Focus on the game. He will figure that out later.' He thought furiously. Time was ticking down, it was all or nothing. He stepped into the red tube and was teleported into what he could only describe as the Moo Moo Farm. I am going for the cornucopia! And I will go after the mutts!- 209 replies
