  1. Hey guys sorry for missing the last couple of days. I came down with a really bad flu and barely could function. I have been able to log in and check up on the forum a little, but was not feeling nearly good enough to write a post. I barely feel good enough to type this atm To make a good vote I need to go read all of the posts today. I will try to have my vote up within the next 2 to 3 hours.
  2. Well it looks like me and Spencer are currently tied on the vote at the moment. I will plead with you all not to leave this up the eliminators to choose the fate of this lynch with vote manipulations. Spencer's latest posts did nothing to answer why he didn't post even though he was on the forum the last couple cycles. As for his excuse "simply losing track of the game" it is simply not a valid excuse in my mind to avoid being lynched. Would you rather have an active player or an inactive one?
  3. Jain, I didn't agree with the targets that were up for a lynch. Both of the players were active and there wasn't any valid reasoning behind lynching either of them. I thought and still do think that lynching an inactive is currently the best option for the village. That being said there was an another benefit from doing it last minute. It generated a lot of discussion and more importantly we got to see last minute actions of several people which will be helpful later on. If there wasn't a GM error we would of had even more information. I am actually confused why you think it was a bad thing that it happened the way it did. No one likes last minute bandwagons, but in this case I think it was valuable. I stand by what I did, but I would like to ask you why are you focusing on me above others?
  4. Thanks for posting Karlin. I am going to move my vote over to spencer. I know he was on recently, but hasn't posted and I would still like to know what role manipulated his vote. As for the lynching lurkers/inactives strategy here are my reasons for advocating this strategy. I started playing roughly around the AG game and ever since then I have seen how much damage lurkers can do. I have not played nearly as many games as some of the other players but from my perspective they are not good for the village as a whole. Not only is getting rid of the lurker element good for the village, but it promotes discussion which is great for the village. If you compare this to other LG games I think we are doing great so far on discussion. We haven't found any cultists yet (it's only day 2), but I know my game notes are much larger then other LG games I have played which is a great sign. As for my target, I voted for Fel because he was the only inactive that I saw at the time that already had a vote on him and I didn't see him post anything saying he wouldn't be playing the first bit of this game. A valid point was brought up by Kasimir that poke votes have limited value if they don't respond with meaningful posts. I agree somewhat to this. We have to start somewhere when trying to draw inactives/lurkers into the game and this seems like the best method. With all of that said if a valid target comes up for a lynch I will focus them. However I believe going after lurkers/inactives this early in the game is a much better strategy then going after them mid game. During the mid game we have a lot more information to go off of and voting for lurkers/inactives at that point makes less sense. I would also like to point out that I find it more fun to play this game when there is activity in the forum which probably factored into why I decided to go strongly after lurkers/inactives early on this game.
  5. I am going to start the cycle off by voting for Karlin. I have seen you online, but if I remember right you haven't posted anything. I would also like to call out Spencer. I have seen him online, but he haven't really posted anything. I also believe Wonko asked him to tell us if his vote was done by a princess or duke(he would of gotten a PM) and he has yet to respond to that. Also here are some helpful links for navigating the main thread. I will try to keep these updated throughout the game. Day 1: http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/29102-lg12-shadows-of-elantris/page-9 Night 1: http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/29102-lg12-shadows-of-elantris/page-15
  6. Hey guys finally off work and can spend the time needed to post. So here are my thoughts, I think yesterday went great except of the GM error (completely understandable and I think handled very well). Without the error we would of gained a lot of very good information, but regardless I still believe that we gained some good information. You can look at Wonko's great analysis to see some of the information, but I think the best information lies in the players reactions. On average we learn little from the Day one lynch, but I don't think that is the case here. That being said some people said my actions were suspicious so I will just outline it now. I will be going after inactives and will take whatever chance I can to kill them. If you don't want me voting for you then play the game. If you are looking as to why I did what I did yesterday well that is the reason. That being said Clanky can you read my fortune?
  7. Ok guys sorry it took me so long to get time to actually sit down and type, but here are my thoughts. In my opinion our largest threat is lurkers. If you are wondering why go read MR6. Also if we go after lurkers we will be targeting both the cultists and Gyorn or at least forcing them to be vocal which doesn't benefit them. I don't know why we are even discussing who we should be focusing. What we should be doing is trying to get everyone to be more vocal. It is way to early in the game to try to focus on a specific target. I hope you all agree we should go after the lurkers, but as I was thinking how best to do this I came across a problem. This game has a twist that I haven't seen anyone mention. How do we actually know if someone is lurking and not simply an Elantrain. This seems like a problem until we can get some conversation with the Elantrain side. That being said I am going to vote for spencer12347 as I haven't seen anything from him.
  8. The game sounds great! Sign me up as Dow. An old farmer with a bad back who thinks his way is always the right way, but is always wrong. Also I have a couple questions about the rules: Does the Shu-Korath Priest get told if they scan Gyorn or Odiv that their target is a convert? Basically does Gyorn or Odiv count as a convert for the game's purposes? Does Gyorn/Odiv get told that their convert failed if he/she targets the Shu-Korath Priest? Does Gyorn also have a chance of getting a role? If I have a poison someone using the poison vial and they have a Seon. Does that player lose their Seon ability while sick? If a Cult Member gets turned into a Elantrain or even Hoid can they still communicate freely in their spy doc? If so is the Hoid still restricted to those 5 words in the spy doc.
  9. I didn't really explain further about Winter because well she died. I would of pointed out her activity as the largest suspicion. Although there were other things such as her suggesting everyone say if they slept or not and a couple things that were merely gut feelings on how she worded her posts. Between those things I felt she was the most suspicious. As for voting only when a lynch seems certain... I don't think a lynch is ever 100% certain in this game except maybe Jaerle's lynch. The sleeping mechanic plus vote manipulation roles makes it so lynches can go badly if people aren't careful and coordinating. Look at how many votes went on Jaerle yet how many actually counted. Also in Winter's case I was the 3rd vote when others had votes on them. I don't see how that made that vote certain. I hope that answers some of your questions. If not point out what you want me to clarify and I can.
  10. I did vote, but it didn't show so I am guessing I got soothed. You can go back and look at the posts to verify this. I don't believe I have been really jumping on bandwagons merely voting for the person who I believe is most likely to be spiked. So far I think we have been doing a great job lynching spiked. When you are referring to I have further info, but will explain later? I thought I outlined my thoughts, but if I didn't I can rectify that now.
  11. Four attacks were made this cycle! Woah... guys just cause of we have items that can kill doesn't mean we should use them. We are doing great with so many spiked killed lets not lose the lead because we go kill crazy. As for when the cycle should start I also agree that it should also be when all of the PMs go out. Also could we bring in someone to help you guys GM the game? For example I know Wilson recently died in the MR game and might have time to help out with this one. If Wilson can't maybe another experienced GM can step in and help. As for my vote, I am not sure yet. Once I receive my PM from the GMs I will post who I am voting for.
  12. I am voting for Alvron. It seems that the trusted groups that have formed believe he is spiked and I would like to see how it plays out. If Alvron is spiked and we lynch him great! If he isn't spiked and we lynch him then we should gain a whole lot of information. Either way it seems like the best decision for the village.
  13. I am in Vegas at the start of a bachelor's party so I am a little drunk and can't write a huge post but here are the main reasons for voting for winter. Her forum activity is suspicious. Activate on QF7 game but not so much here. When she said for everyone to say if they slept or not. And there is something else but I am kinda drunk at and don't have my notes available. If she doesn't die from a lynch tonight I will later post a more fleshed out post.
