  1. Tough one. I'd have to say digital because some amazing stuff is being done there that I wouldn't have expected. However, traditional art is always good. Dr Pepper or Mountain Dew?
  2. Yeah, exactly. I prefer Ferring. Though really, with the lack of full Mistborn and full Feruchemists, you can say "Feruchemist" if you are opposed to Ferrings.
  3. It could also be related to Honor's journal, you know. It speaks "Unite them" to Dalinar quite frequently. Sounds a lot like Honor to me. It'd be cool if it were a spren, though.
  4. Hey, this topic is getting updated today! What does that make it, slightly less than two months? This is progress. I've labeled answers for questions that were resolved in the signing with Brandon and Peter Orullian. I think in the Fantasy Faction video interview there are good pronunciations from Brandon on these. I'll put the Jasnah part in, though. I'm not allowed to say much but you are onto something there. There is a logic to the glyphs. The latest interview (the one with Brandon and Peter Orullian) confirms they are representations of the Heralds. Not what they actually look like, but they do represent the Heralds. Great question. I'm going to distill this down to these two: 1. How human are the humans on each world? Could a "person" from Sel interbreed with a "person" from Nalthis? 2. If they can interbreed, would this person be able to access multiple worlds' magic systems? Or would one innate shard dominate over the other? Or would they be like a mule and be unable to breed again at all? That's all for now. If a specific theory generates a question in your mind, be sure to add it here. I may be too scatterbrained to remember to add them myself. Speaking of which, I do have additional questions to add to the list: The list is totaled at 161 questions.
  5. I adjusted the name of the poll and the question to say "Jordan" instead of "Jorden". I hope you don't mind, SirZelig. Interesting how close the margins are here. There's probably some serious selection bias, though.
  6. I need to work on Darshan...
  7. Happy birthday!

  8. You make some good points. Feel free to edit the wiki--that's what the wiki exists for, naturally. I think my intent with #1 was that it's a permanent bond unless you die. Sazed couldn't just throw away his Shards. You're right, Thucydides (by the way, a lot of these quotes have been found and referenced in that Shard article. There were 97 references when I finished it). The applicable quote is: Darniil brings up a good point with his second question. Do we want to refer to Shardholder explicitly, at all times? I was using Shard, in this context, as the person holding the Shard, like what Brandon would refer to it as. Shardholder is more precise, I think. But as wiki policy, do we want to ensure that everyone refers to them as Shardholders? I don't know. My gut feeling is that we could probably use them interchangeably. After all, when someone says something like I did, that's technically canonical. If I were to rewrite that line, though, I'd probably use the term Shardholder, but I don't have strong feelings one way or another. I think sometimes using the term Shard can refer to the holder or the power, depending on context. What does everyone else think? I think that was in the Hero of Ages epigraphs, but isn't that Sazed's speculation on the subject, not necessarily fact? Here's the quote:
  9. I think Mi'ch enjoys being excessively cryptic.
  10. I don't know about that. That's not true about the staff, at least. Though there is a significant Mormon population, I think non-Mormons still are the majority. This could change with the massive influx of people from TWG. I agree with Kerry--I don't think we will have a dedicated forum for topics like that. I, for one, am perfectly okay with discussing religion, and I think our members are cool and intelligent enough to have discussions about it. However, I know the last time I wanted to post a topic on religion (though it could've been politics), other members didn't want it, because they didn't want the extra conflict. So, hi! I'm Eric, the forum administrator, and the self-appointed theorymaster. You'll see me around a lot. And while we're on the subject of admitting religious preferences, I'm agnostic. Though, like LDS members, I'd love to tell you all about it! You probably don't want that, however. Have you seen how long my theory threads get? (You know, you kind of defeat the purpose of hiding your name when you post your real name on the Google+ thread )
  11. Oo, yeah, that Brandonothology on the wiki needs some serious formatting to look like the Google doc.
  12. So, fun fact, for both July and August, you've refreshed the site more than anyone else. August by a huge margin.

  13. It's very spiffy.

  14. Well. On the 24th (when the announcement happened) we did get 83,660 hits, which is two to two and a half times the usual. So already August has the second most hits ever, as well as the second most uniques. And it's been two days... That spike on the 20th was in bandwidth, for the signing report. Otherwise, there was a dramatic boost on the 24th. Interesting that the 25th didn't have as much, considering we had an insane amount of posts.
  15. Could've been the server not loading a particular element. It's kind of a crappy server. I'm glad it works though. But, if it becomes problematic let me know.
  16. Well, I always liked Guild Wars because you could sort of play it as a single player game if you wanted to. SWTOR looks cool, but GW2's combat looks more innovative. TOR looks like the same MMORPG you've played before, but with the Bioware story, plus Star Wars. As much as I love Bioware, I don't know if it's enough to get me to pay a subscription, especially since I don't have much time to game.
  17. Your avatar is awesome!

  18. Of course you can, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
  19. There should be space at the bottom, right? Is there not? Screenshot so I can see.
  20. Welcome, Kaladin! How's Windrunning going?
  21. This times a thousand.
  22. IPB doesn't keep track of the Users on in the past 24 hours. It's a mod. However, we do have other stats. Like post stats. Today is the record, by a large margin, and the day isn't over yet.
  23. That's a relief. Supposedly it's Ferings, but I couldn't find an in-text reference, at least in the version I have. Ahem...
  24. Sweet! Thanks for posting this, I'll add it to the main page. I really like Michael Whelan's comment on that thread. He seems like a very nice person, in addition to being a talented one.
  25. Good lord you read a lot, Syb! Very impressed. Guild Wars 2 does look amazing. I was a big GW1 fan. Did you play that one at all?
