She shrugged, taking a bite of food. "Because you're clearly uncomfortable and I don't want you to associate me with such a feeling."

Caden nearly chuckled, "a little late for that."

She sighed, tapping her fork. "Well, at least I tried." When Riva looked down at her plate, she found it empty and smiled. "Hah! You thought I couldn't eat all of it!" I'm going to have such a stomach ache later tonight.

Riva gave Caden a sly smile. “Perhaps.” She chuckled and had the distinct impression that she’d never been so happy in her entire life. “you make me happy, Caden Praetorium.“

"You make me concerned," Caden said as he looked between Riva and her empty plate. "Did you eat all of that just to prove me wrong?"

“Maybe.” Riva burped loudly
