Silence is an ability used pretty much exclusively by the mimes. Any other Silence users tend to eventually be snapped up and drafted into the ranks.

 I agree, Nekri is probably doing it accidentally- but the fact that he can do it at all makes him highly unusual. Plus, it gives Jared a reason to be involved.

Kess' words sounded in his distracted mind. "No, it's not normal but I've seen it before. Just, I just can't quite pick out what set her off. I hate not knowing things."

"What are you doing here boy. Doesn't your head hurt or something." Jahora snapped as the boy from before tumbled into the stable.

"Ayy, hold up." he said standing at his full hight between Rose's body and the boy who's words made her collapse "I know what I'm doing, I've dealt with stuff like this before. She doesn't have any physical injuries and she clearly wasn't doing well in the tavern." He continued to stare down the boy "We've" he gestured between himself and Kess "indeed do have important stuff to discussed whether she's waking up or not.....I swear I've seen your face before. Do you live in the slums? Who are your parents? Gahh, it doesn't matter." He took a deep breath and backed down a little, realising that he was being way to protective "I'm not usually so snappy, I'm just under alot of stress right now." I've just hired someone to kill my ex. "you can come along with us if you want, if you care about Rose so much." He relaxed and patted the boy's shoulder, "I've got plenty of boys your age back at my shop, you'll fit in fine."

Yeah, I think that would be totally fine. 

I do think that's it's weird that all our characters have magic though. Magic in this world should be pretty rare, otherwise Rose's aunt and uncle might have realized that her episodes were powers manifesting... But no one ever saw her use her telekinesis except her and she was NOT a normal child by any means, so I can see why they would have really thought she was insane. I suppose it doesn't matter.

Name: Euphony, but her host's name was Katie. So she'll go by Katie.

Powers: None, but she controls her host body.

Looks: The body has boyishly short dirty blonde hair with hazel and green eyes. She has a slight figure and her large eyes seem to swallow her face. She's 27, but the soul(name for an alien species) is much much older.

Background: Euphony is the best translation for this soul's name in a previous host, who was a See Weed on a different planet. This is her second body, and she's had no problems with it. I guess that's about it.

Can I get a brief TL;DR?

First of all, many of CBST's characters are Narrators; beings who have the ability to manipulate reality by, well, Narrating. Rose's mother is a Narrator named Star. (Star being the main character of CBST) When Star was very young, she fell in love with a character named Maverick and through Narration made him her husband. But 10 years after their marriage, the other Narrators got jealous of Star and decided to rip her life apart. They kidnapped Maverick and forced Star to go find him. Before Star left on her journey to rescue him, she took her two children - 8 year old Rose and 6 year old Granite - and dropped them off at the home of Granite's brother and his wife. Star, however, would never return. 

I won't get into specifics because that would take too long, but the Narrators drove Maverick to suicide. Mav died in his wife's arms. After this, Star decided that in her anguished state she was no longer fit to raise her children and that they would be better off without her. In fact, to save herself from more grief, she erased her own memories of her son and daughter. After some time, Riva and Darrin (Mav's brother and his wife) realized that Rose and Granite's parents weren't coming back. As you can imagine, they were a little bitter about it, but compassionate towards the two children they were forced to adopt. Granite grew up incredibly curious about his parents, but Rose decided to bury everything as deep down as she possibly could. 

Years later, when Granite was 15, he left home, intent on finding his parents. He did eventually find his mother and learn the truth about everything. (Star's memories of him and Rose came back upon seeing his face) From Rose's post, you know what happens next; Rose's mental state getting worse, her aunt and uncle deciding to send her to the asylum, then Rose eventually breaking out. Rose's future sight led her - exhausted, starved, and thirsty - to a castle hidden in the woods. It was there that she finally learned the truth of what had happened 10 years ago and the truth about Narrators. There that she found her mother, now re-married and pregnant, with more family she hadn't even known about. Strange family, with powers just like Star. Rose was furious. Her mother wanted her to stay, but Rose left and vowed she'd never come back. 

Basically, Rose comes to this tavern about a week after leaving her mother's castle. She's just started work as a bounty hunter and has been told she'll meet an informant here. That informant, however, is murdered, and another informant named Jahora takes his place (knowing that Rose is new so she won't notice) to get her to help him kill his ex. The two eat together and are watched by a shapeshifter and another dude who doesn't have powers but can kick butt. Then, this guy named Jared comes in who's looking for a woman. He asks around if anyone's seen her, but nobody has. The shapshifter - named Nekri - starts messing with him and Jared decides that he wants to know more about the shapeshifter and follow him.

Rose grows increasingly more anxious until it all culminates and she faints, having a vision. A young boy named Kieran (who kinda sorta induced the vision) starts trying to help, but Jahora takes initiative and picks Rose up, intent on taking her to his shop to help her. He feels unusually drawn to her. Jahora has a tag-along named Kess who wants to join them in their bounty hunt. That's basically it. Rose is still unconcious and Kieran wants to come with Jahora and Kess to help Rose. He has a lot of knowledge about medicine and is an empath.
