Rose suddenly fell to her knees. "I can't," she cried, shaking her head. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I can't...."

Jahora sat cross legged infront of Rose “Can you tell me why you can’t?” He asked.

"No," she sobbed. "I just... I just..." I'm tired, she thought, unwilling to say it aloud. Though she longed to be able to trust him more than she did, she just... couldn't. Rose curled up into a ball on the gravel.

Kieran cautiously followed after the trail of Rose's thoughts. Even from this far away, he could still faintly pick up on her anguish. Her thoughts were louder, somehow. He doubted it would be a pleasant experience when he found her, but clearly she needed whatever help he could offer.

"Hey, I know you've been through some messed up stuff, and I know we haven't been getting along, but that doesn't mean I think your a bad person. You are not the villain in this story, Rose. You must never think that." He looked at the pathetic, wet heap of tear-stained flesh in front of him. "You've suffered long enough. Don't you think it's time to stand up? I'll wait as long as it takes for you to calm down, I'll wait for you. But when your ready, we've got work to do."

"Waiting on me isn't a good idea. I just... disappoint... everyone..." Tears rolled down her cheeks and she shook, gravel imprinting on her cheek.

"We set out to do this job together, I don't want to do it alone. Our journey isn't over yet! I'll wait for you. Even if you never stand up, I'll be here waiting. No matter what you throw at me, or how the weather turns, I'll stay here and wait."

It was something her father would have said to her... Rose could picture him there. Waiting as Jahora was, ever-hopeful and loving. He would scoop her into his arms, his little Rosebud, and hold her through her nightmares. All her troubles would scramble at the sight of his muscular form and she... she would just lay there. Protected. 

"What will we do," she said, "if I get up?"

"What will we do, you ask?" A shadow fell over his face turning his vibrant blue eyes into murky navy pools swirling with unanswered vengeance. "We find Selene." His hands curled into a tight fist making the cold metal rings, that were buzzing with power, dig deep into his palms "We find Selene, and we kill her." 

[Fallapede]

Kieran rounded the corner, rubbing his temples and avoiding looking at either of the two. "Anguish, despair, and bloodlust," he muttered. "Lovely."

Rose nodded. The mission. The bounty. She could focus on that. Suddenly empowered, she stood, then regarded little Kieran. “If it keeps me standing, I’m willing to feel it.”

[Lecky Twig she/her]

Jahora smiled up at Rose and stood up lazily. He was tired, like all of his emotions had been sapped from him like maple from a tree. "I guess we should get going then. Oh, hey Kieran."

[Fallapede]

"Hello. You're doing... better, I see, Rose. That's good. Who is this Selene, exactly?"

"Someone we need to kill," Rose growled. Her hair was a mess, her eyes red from sobbing, and she still trembled. And yet, she had such an aura of power about her. 

[Fallapede]

"I see. I know this is rude of me,  but could you please try to... keep your thoughts to yourself? You're crowding me out of my own head."

[Lecky Twig she/her]

“We need to find a way to deal with your mind reading. Do you know much about your magic, or do you just know what you’ve learnt yourself? Have you trained it at all, or just fluffed around with it on the streets?”

[Fallapede]

"It's just something I've always been aware of. I'm not sure how I might practice it. I've tried shutting the voices out before but the level of focus required means I can't do anything else. I don't think it would work for her anyways. She's louder somehow. Perhaps there's simply a technique I'm missing, however."

[Lecky Twig she/her]

"Do you know of anyone who could tell you what you're missing? How about you, Rose? Have you met someone or heard of someone that could potentially help Kieran? If not then I'm sure a solution will pop up sooner or later." He said optimistically. 

[Zephrun’s Imperium they/he]

She shook her head. "No one can help people like us."

"That certainly isn't true. At the very least, we can help each other."
