Jahora nodded his head absently and started walking. His thumb nervously drummed against his thigh because, truth be told, he was worried about Rose. He didn't trust her to be by herself, the state she was in demanded that someone be there to look after her. He pushed down the urge to race after Rose and tell her that she was okay "It's probably better that Rose isn't with us, her scowl would give away our murderous intentions to everyone we talk to." He said skeptically. "Anyway, let's go. Rose can find us on her own accord. If she can't than she'll learn why its a bad idea to storm away from her pals."

Rose trembled. Her cloak was wrapped tightly around her, its hood drawn over her face. In the shadows, she heard whispers. Memories - of her mother, of her brother, her aunt and uncle, the strange extended family she'd met in Castle Celeste - and things that would come to be, stirred in her broken mind. Jahora would coming back for her. There would be no bounty for them at the house. And something about that red dress she'd seen in her dream.

Though her eyes were open, staring sightlessly forward, she saw nothing in the real world. Her body was in the alleyway, but her mind resided in the Void, floating along with the waves of time. Such a state was painful quite painful; the separation of cognitive and physical caused an ache in her head that she was incapable of turning away from. All in all, between her trembling, her muttering, and her hunched over position by the wall, it wasn't hard to understand why Darrin and Riva had thought her to be insane. In fact, as Rose sat, she could overhear voices from outside the alleyway. 

Drunk. Crazy. Poor wretch. Urchin. 

Had she been more lucid, she might have run at them in anger. But all she could do was sit and shake and cry, waiting for something to bring her out of her misery.

"mmhm" Jahora said as he set off down the street. storm! Why am I so worried about Rose

"This is it" Jahora stepped up to a simple brick house in the worker's end of town. hands sweating, and knees shaking, he tapped knocked firmly on the door and waited anxiously for it to open. "I hope Rose is okay." He said absently.

Joline's back complained profusely as she shuffled to her front door "WHOS THERE" She yelled at the top of her deteriorating lungs. The last thing she wanted was for idiot doorknockers to ruin her peaceful life. "KnoCk KnOCk, KNoCK, I'm coming you impatient fool." She swung the door open to trio of young folks. "What'dya want?" she spat.

What if Rose is hurting herself, what if she's still mad at me? Jahora jumped out of his skin when the door infront of him abruptly flung open. "I..I..ah, we just have a few questions about this house and its previous owners, may we come in?" His legs itched to sprint off after her, but his previous attempts at helping her had been largely fruitless.

"What? You the constables or something?" Joline asked

What if Rose needs me right now "Umm no we're the..uh" he trailed slowly off. what if Rose needs me and I'm not there for her, damn my conscience. "Sorry, I have to go" He mumbled then sprinted back in the direction that Rose had left in earlier.

"Well ain't he and interesting fella ay." Joline said to the girl.

When Rose was released from her mental lock, she slumped over onto the cold ground. She was too weak to move. Though she'd certainly had visions before, none she'd had in the past had left her so drained; she could hardly do more than blink and tremble weakly, silent tears rolling down her face.

Jahora shoved his way through the streets "Rose?" he cried "Rose, where did you go." gosh, he thought, I must look like some love sick valentine at the moment. "Rose?" He called frantically pushing himself back into the crowded slums, he must be getting close to her by now, he must be. "Rose I'm sorry about earlier, I shouldn't have been so pushy. Rose?"

He passed by a local flourist and half heartedly wished for one of the roses on the shelf to be the one he was looking for.

No, Jahora, Rose thought to herself. I'm not worth coming back for. She knew that was true. It would be better if she just died here.

Joline shook her head and tsked quietly to herself. "That's all and well, but why does this 'Jahora' bloke want Selene? If I were you I'd give that boy a good talking to. Tell him that running after his ex is a bad idea.

Jahora rounded the next corner and saw Rose sitting by herself. He breathed a heavy breath and walked up to her, drained from his frantic search. He sat down beside her. "there's a really nice florist down the street. I can get you a flower if you think it'd make you feel better."

Rose did not move to acknowledge Jahora's arrival in any way. Her wide-eyed expression, lack of movement, and pale skin made her seem as though she was dead, but her red eyes and tear stained cheeks insisted that breath still flowed within her.

 "Why are you here?" she rasped. "I knew you would come, but my future sight doesn't let me feel people. You don't make any sense."

Jahora stared straight ahead for a moment, then be turned to looks at Rose. "I dont think you should be alone at the moment. We had a rough night, its been a pretty bad morning, we all need some company. I hope that I start making sense to you soon, I wouldnt want any nonsense to lead to misunderstanding or anything like that." he paused for a moment and peered suspiciously at Rose. "Are you sure it was your future sight that told you I'd come?"

Jolone waved her hand dismissively "pfft, kids these days. I think that if Jahora's not careful, Selene might end up killing him too. Ay?" she relaxed her defensive stance and shuffled away from the door. "come in, come in, I'll tell you a little of what I know about Selene." she rubbed her hands together mischievously "I cant wait to see this petty drama unfold." 

She walked into her living room and sat down on a hard wooden chair. She picked up her knitting needles and started working them.

“I think that in this instance, you should believe your mother; she sounds like someone who knows what she's talking about. I'd love to meet her one day."

Jahora looked up at the sky. "how many times do I have to tell you that I'm not leaving for you to believe me? I care too much to leave you. If you're not keen on picking yourself of the ground, then I'll scoop you up and cart you around slumped over ny shoulder. Ay?"

"My mother," Rose mumbled, "is an evil, vile woman." She tried to ignore the part about him caring. He didn't care; he just wanted something from her. She didn't know what that something was, but she did know that she wasn't about to give it to him.

After calming down she sighed, "I dont really know much about where Selene is. Young people like her move around the place all the time. But when she left, she was meddling around with bad people, they must have brainwashed the poor girl or something because Selene...well changed." Joline sighed “Sometimes I worry about that girl."
