He was holding more power than he had dared hold before, his pushed through his mind's boundaries as memories pressed to recede recede them. He was not powerful, he was not special, Drae always ended up losing. Drae always ended up alone. All he wanted in the world was for his past to leave him alone, but his memories played before him. So he pushed harder and burned more, more. BrEAk ConTrOL. He felt a pang of remorse for all the brass he was using up, but it dissipated like the morning fog when suddenly, his intent became clear; his wild soothing focused to a point and he seized control. Drae blinked, startled as his push soared through the invisible barrier. His eyes lolled about unfocused, but he didn't stop pushing. The now undirected push burst out like a bomb across the room. He whipped his head around frantically looking for directions I don't know what to do. A single tear escaped its duct as the realization of how daft he had become through the years since he fled, alone, from Elendel flooded back into his mind. Eryn nodded, and smiled encouragingly. “When control yours, tell him tell me about man who do this to him.”
AonEne he/him Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Quote Not as good as the original, but whatever. Perhaps this was going on in the background, so now she's caught up in the timeline, and Ladashwy and Zola can try to stop her from torturing people while she waits for Adilie to get back if you want. Or just leave her Marie felt the orders shift inside with joy. The Steelrunner was dead and the Hunter and kandra were on the Compounder, leaving two men and a woman all for herself, and the only restriction not to kill. She would have some fun now. Thank you, Ruin, for sending me this carnage. Marie tossed her head back and let out a wild shout of happiness, then dropped a clip, flying up, hovering at perhaps ten feet above the dining area. She drew her knives. She drank a vial of metals. She smiled. And then she tipped forward in the air, cutting her Steelpush and letting herself fall. At the same time, she flared duralumin and yanked on the metal around the woman, jerking her into the air, where the two of them collided messily, a tangle of limbs and yells and Marie's knives tracing patterns in her skin. They hit the floor (snapped a leg, heal that) and the enemy was flaring pewter, a part of her mind noted, but the rest of her was laughing and laughing and laughing as she slammed a fist onto the girl's fingers, not letting her find purchase on the tile. The Thug tapped something and she would've paid attention to what if her steelsight and Seeking hadn't both snagged on a hail of bullets flashing toward her; her mind outran her body, having Feruchemical zinc but not steel, and so she stood to take them head-on. The men had decided to try to save their ally, not realizing until this moment - as they looked upon an Inquisitor whose skin spat out bullets, who licked blood off her lips with a smirk - that this meant they would have the brunt of her next attack. She regarded them with red-specked spikes and curled her lips in an eager snarl. One jolted suddenly toward her, Lurching to the wall behind her with feet oriented to meet her face, and she sidestepped neatly, letting him crash. Meanwhile she was running down the aisle to the last man, who emptied his gun of bullets at her, Pushing them to quicken their way, frantic with fear. She Pushed in a wave, catching most of them and healing from the ones she didn't. Shells clattered around them. He batted one dagger away when she threw it at him: the other slashed down his forearm. Desperately, he ducked behind a wooden eating table and Pushed his gun at her, and she plucked it out of the air and tapped heat - specifically, to her hand. It hurt like hell and turned her flesh to ash and char, but she went through an entire brassmind to melt the barrel of the weapon, making it an unusable glob of metal. Then she regrew what she'd burnt, clapping her hands and rubbing them together to rid herself of the dead skin, wincing at the pain. It was pain, though, so she managed to grin anyway, and swallowed a fresh vial. The Lurcher tackled Marie to the ground from behind, hands around her neck; she reached back, easy as buying metal, and cleanly broke his wrist. Then, still holding onto his hand, she Pushed on his blood with all the power her flared steel and duralumin could give her. She wasn't sure beforehand whether it would tear off the hand or rip all the blood out of his body, but was interested to learn that the answer was the former. The Lurcher keened and Pulled at the ceiling to escape; she burned nicrosil and touched his ankle as he did so, and he suddenly shot up, iron unexpectedly enhanced. The impact knocked him out, and his trip back down to where he sprawled over a table likely didn't help - nor did him having decreased his weight on the way up, but falling with it restored. There was a bang as the Pewterarm shot at her, but she tapped gold and faced her, frowning. She was miraculously unhurt from the fall - ah, Fortune. That explained it, and how the shooting had started at the moment she needed to escape. Marie had fought a Spinner once before, when chasing down a rogue Keeper for the Lord Ruler, and it had been difficult, but still doable. Forward she arrowed, trilling a sweet, discordant song of fury inside her, and blades flashed then clashed, stabbing here, there, Pushing away and corralling the Coinshot there as well, and she lost herself to the movements for a minute. The Coinshot was white-faced on the ground, holding his shoulder, when she came to, and her dagger was at the Twinborn's throat, whose hands were raised in surrender. She smiled delightedly at the two of them, then sank her knife deep into the woman's abdomen. Removing it, Marie jabbed at and skewered her right ear, then trailed the side sensually from her forehead down the bridge of her nose, which she pricked lightly. Not killing was a whole lot of fun, if you looked at it the right way. 3

Minor correction: there was no Chromium during TFE as they lacked the tech to make it.

Quote Oop, you're right, my bad. And thank you! Not all Surgebinders are Radiants, you can use spikes, fabrials, or Honorblades and not have bonded the spren (or, technically, not be in the organization). Speaking of corrections, hang on, I thought regular Soothing and Rioting can't control someone? It has to be duralumin-enhanced?

So Eryn asked Drae to wrest that control from him. It would be kind of impossible to fix it now without messing with the plot, so can we say that it worked this particular time because Raven was already mentally ill?

Pewter special, so I can fight. Does not give allomancy often. Thought maybe dangerous here, ja? Was right, too. “Aluminum for... other reasons. But can use to make open metalmind.” It was for making open Copperminds so the Sovereign could see her memories, but she wasn’t sharing that. She also had the usual ones, but those weren’t important. “Three spike only. Then need lynchpin. Easier switch, if can.” If that wasn’t possible Eryn would have to give him her goldmind. That would mean transferring the health stored to another metalmind, then creating an identity-less one in the gold and nicrosil one. Doable, but annoying.
Lecky Twig she/her Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 Drae shifted his stance uncomfortably "Can I let him go? I feel dirty having him like this." He gestured profusely at the pacified Raven.
