Tesh Any pronouns Posted February 7, 2021 Author Posted February 7, 2021 Needing to get away from the pointless chatter of those in the room, Talnic left, and began wandering the halls of the tower. He kept his hands shoved in his pockets, keeping a wary eye out for anyone who might mean harm, but still relieved to be on his own in relative quiet for a short time. He came across a set of stairs and decided to climb them, hoping that he might be able to find his way to a balcony of some sort. He continued walking, slowly making his way up the levels of the tower. After a short time walking, he finally came to a small set of stairs that led to a door that seemed as though it might lead out onto the top of the tower. Talnic pulled his scarf around his neck a little tighter, and made his way up the stairs. When he opened the door and looked out onto the roof, he almost withdrew when he saw Minuet and Xues talking, but decided against it and made his way out onto the roof. A gust of wind hit him, and so Talnic removed his hat from his head, not wanting it to blow away. It had taken him ages to find a suitable replacement last time he had lost a hat. He opened his mouth to alert the pair to his presence, but something glinting caught his eye. It seemed similar to what he had seen earlier from the window, but this time it was slightly brighter. Talnic squinted, trying to see what it was. The shape was vague in the air, but seemed to be moving in a regular and repeated fashion. The shining thing circled around the tower, and, as it passed in front of the sun, the light caught it at just the right angle for Talnic to make out it's features. He gasped, leaning back against the door as the huge dragon left the light of the sun to complete another circuit of the tower. The thing was transparent, and far larger than any dragon Talnic had ever seen before. He looked up at it, mouth open in awe. Now that he knew it was a dragon, he could make out the vague shape of the wings as they beat the air, and the long, graceful neck stretched forward against the wind. "Can you see that?" Talnic finally forced out. "Have you ever seen anything like it?" Eristal felt the shift. They circled above the tower, and they felt when the human laid eyes on them. They began circling down, slowly drawing nearer to the tower and those who stood on its top. Things are changing things are changing things are changing things are changing things are changing. They had to be warned. Eristal threw their wings out coming to an abrupt stop mere inches above the top of the tower. The touched down lightly, silent except for the sound of their wings folding back up and their claws clicking on the stone of the roof. Things are changing things are changing things are changing. "Dark times are ahead," Eristal said, their words chiming through the air. "You must be ready to take action. Some of us have come to offer our air, but I do not know where the others are. And we don't know how the transition between realms will affect us. Are you willing to offer up your services to keep ruin away from this world? You will not be alone. We will help you... But I do not... Not know of how much use we will be in the long term." Eristal barred their teeth in frustration. They were almost powerless to stop the fading between realms. Eristal and the others had lived in a state of uninterrupted peace for millennia, but the time had come again, and they had been forced to abandon both their lives of the past and the cycle of the dragons as it had been before it had been fragmented. Fragmented by those like themself. But the times were changing. And there was a threat to more than just their stable lives. The drifting between realms would affect all dragons from any realm, and would also threaten the lives of all other creatures in the world. And the dragons would not be able to do it on their own. Quote Soooo... I was kind of vague on purpose, as I'm not the best with the realmatics of everything, so let me know if I messed something up badly. I hope that this was a good intro to the dragons!
Condensation she/her Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 Minuet spun. There was the Shadow.... and there was a dragon! Her face went pale, but she rallied her courage. "Your assistance... would be appreciated."

He listened also to what the man - the one called Xeus - said. He sat in the library, hidden from the area by the door by a column of shelves. Xeus was recruiting. He could only hope the man was trustworthy, but he didn't think so. As sly as a Snakeson, that man was. He returned to writing the erased prophecy from his memory - two of those, actually, because there was another prophecy at the other side of the page. It was the string prophecy, which was counted as rubbish by most researchers, but still, no knowledge is worthless. Quote Seriously, Exodus should've thought about that. His bad, now it's too late.

Or, at least, what was common knowledge... How long ago? How long had they been in the dragon realm, separate from the other realms? It had been many years indeed. Much would have changed. Talnic gasped as the dragon touched down, staring with wide eyes. The dragon was unlike anything he had ever seen. Completely translucent, as if it were made of glass, with only a slight blueish tint. He listened to the conversation, most of the words slipping past without registering in his mind. But Xues's words caught his attention. "Soon the dual nature of dragons itself will be destroyed, and all will die." "And what do you know of this event? And how are you so aware of my kind?" the dragon replied. The words were soft and clear, and seemed almost like the chiming of a bell; they were accompanied by a faint sense of curiosity mingled with fear, that seemed foreign to Talnic. His previous interactions with dragons had not prepared him for the strange experience of dealing with this creature. "Xues," Talnic said. "What do you know?" There was something going on. Something big. It was changing things... And the dragon and Xues seemed to know about it. 1

Eristal smiled, their lips pulling back from their teeth. "What do you mean, where should you go? There are many places you can go, and not many are pleasant." The dragon cocked their head for a moment, considering. But what if they sent them to a place where the world had already ended? Yes, that was an option. The place where the world burned. "Go to the south," they said. Then they blinked. What had that been? The man... Yes, the man was not to be trusted... But the boy... He seemed earnest. Less deceitful... But no one could be trusted. The mission of the dragons was pointless. And no one could be trusted. "To the south," Eristal murmured. "Yes, to the south, there is much to the south..." There was nothing to the south. But they had to send the deceitful one away... Had to clear the path for... For what? Eristal did not know. They laughed, then. A quiet sound. The laughter of a creature who was not quite in touch with their senses. Another moment of lucidity flashed past, and Eristal seized it, trying to claw their way past the dark claws of the madness. "We made a mistake," they said, voice hoarse. "We should not have returned... There are forces at play here that no one can understand... Things are changing... And you must act... Don't let the others come... But no... They'll come anyways..." Eristal felt like screaming, but they were able to use their final struggling bit of sanity to resist. "There are are forces at play here we cannot understand, cannot know! And no one can be trusted... Or can they?" Their sanity slipping away like sand through a sieve, Eristal threw their head back and let out a scream that seemed to be tangled with a roar, the noise ripping from their throat and fading away over the span of moments. They lowered their head, crouching down, watching the people on the roof through narrowed eyes. "I must kill them all," they muttered. "Kill them... Kill the deceitful ones... Yes... For things are changing... Things are changing... Nothing will stay the same... No... No, they are changing..." Eristal sprang at the girl. @Condensation

Then we stayed around in the tower for a bit, where Exodus (the Big Baddie) has joined the group under the name Xeus and then burns up a prophecy he found, then fights off the librarian. No one saw this part though so don't worry 'bout it. Then we timeskipped and we're all chilling, right, then a DRAGON SHOWS UP OUTTA NOWHERE but apparently the people inside don't notice the BOOMING VOICE and so now Minuet and Exodus are freaking out on top of the tower, but now the dragon has gone NUTS and will now proceed to murder EVERYONE. that good? 20 minutes ago, Condensation said: Minuet sprang out of the way.
