Trylle would have let them - they couldn't harm her anyway - but it was annoying. She hissed again and began to throw them off.

A deep growl came from above.

With a thud, a much larger specimen dropped to the ground besides her.

Trylle rolled her eyes. "Another? You do realise you can't do anything to me, right?"

The creature hissed again, revealing a pair of beyond-razor-sharp fangs. A drop of some sort of liquid fell off the tooth, leaving a scorch mark on the ground below.

Trylle took a slight step back. That venom might actually be able to harm her... and her immunity buckled under fire.

"You can speak. Of course you can." Trylle smiled coldly. "I'm sure I could still easily escape. And if that doesn't work out, I'll just defeat you."

The creature laughed, fiery venom dripping from its fangs. "You think you can outspeed us? Here, in our home?"

"Yes." Trylle folded her arms.

The creature chuckled. "Usually the penalty for trespassing on our territory is death," it hissed. "But your boldness amuses me. If you can outrace me, I will let you go."

"And if not?"

The creature grinned. "Then you will suffer the fate of all whom we catch."

"Works for me." Trylle shrugged, then set herself facing the direction she had explored. "Where to?"

"Doesn't matter," hissed the creature.

"I recall seeing a waterfall with large boulders at the base."

The creature growled impatiently.

[Condensation she/her]

"On my mark, then?"

[xinoehp512 he/him]

"As soon as possible."

[Condensation she/her]

"When I say 'Go'. Three... Two... One..."

With a snarl, the creature leapt at Trylle.

[Condensation she/her]

"Go!" Trylle took off just in time to avoid the glistening fangs, speeding toward the waterfall.

The creature launched itself into the air, maneuvering with its wings at blinding speed.

[Condensation she/her]

Trylle became all but invisible as she ran at blinding speed through the forest, able to focus individually on each leaf while dodging through the thick forest.

The creature flowed through the forest, moving as though the trees and branches weren't even there. While Trylle may have been faster, the concentration expended on dodging gave the creature just enough of an edge to keep pace.

It spat fiery venom in Trylle's direction.
