"First, determine your HP Max. For first level, that's 10 plus your Constitution Modifier. "Alright, here's some stuff you'll want to put under Features and Traits: Divine Sense! This lets you detect any fiend or celestial within 60 feet for a time. Lay on Hands gives you a Pool of Healing. The amount of HP you can heal with that is equal to your Paladin Level times 5, so in this case, 15. You can draw upon those hit points to heal anyone you touch. Next, choose your fighting style: Defense, Dueling, Great Weapon Fighting, or Protection."

Could you give an explanation of those?

"Humph. I don't play spell casters," Reading said indignity. "It doesn't fit my play style, but I guess if we can't get anyone else within a week or so (Or a short period of time), I can be a cleric."

"Defense gives bonus to your Armor Class, Dueling gives you bonuses when you only use one weapon, Great Weapon Fighting gives you bonuses on weapons that you hold with two hands, and Protection gives disadvantage to people attacking your allies."
