For instance, you might introduce yourself by helping the characters find their target? e.g You saw Y pass with the amulet and are able to direct them to follow her?

Y turned to face her followers, daggers discreet in her palms.

"A few streets down, maybe." Ellis panted. "They're hostile. They know we're here. Just... don't do anything stupid, okay?"

"Define stupid." Melody grinned. "Just kidding, don't worry about me."

"Ah, yes... little Melody." Y laughed. "Chasing me, still?"

"How do you know my name? Where do I know you from?"

As far as I'm concerned they can't exactly see each other, right?

Ellis forcefully let go of the hilt of his sword, leaving it inert in his scabbard. "Who are you?"

"You don't know? Either of you? Chasing me without a clue in the world who I am?"

The wind blew fierce and dusty, and suddenly she was there, her blades conspicuous in her hands.

"Y..." Melody breathed. She straightened. "We're not chasing you. We're looking for an amulet."

[Channelknight Fadran]

"She knows that," Ellis muttered, forcefully pulling his hand away from his forehead. "But if she has it... I don't see how we can get it from her."

"You can't," said Y bluntly, flicking a knife at Ellis.

His sword flew upwards and deflected it with a clang. Ellis yelped at the same time--in a very manly fashion, of course.
