"No, I don--you can't have that. It's hers!"

I don't think Ellis knows how theft works.

"I think that you have a gross misunderstanding on how theft works. I guess that means that I could be a 'bad guy,' but there's an order to these things, and we can't be going against that."

"That's... it's..."

"The people who like killing folks? It'd infiltrate them any day."

"Perfect; I'd have to run this by my boss, but if you could get in, then all we would need is just meeting locations and names. After that's done, then you can have your sword back."

"I'll do it." He looked at Melody. "And don't tell her where I went when she wakes up. Just tell her she's free to go."

"I don't know about that, this is a dangerous city after all. I wouldn't want her getting in trouble if I were you, and you both seemed incredibly talented at finding trouble the first time. She could stay with us here, no harm would come to her, especially since we have you out in the field for us."

"That'll work."

The youth smiled. "Perfect. Now, you get back to me when you're in a position where you can get the information, and I'll give you any direction that trickles down the chain. Don't worry about a thing, both your friend and your sword will be safe with me, just remember to come back for them; we do have such an efficient bureaucracy after all."

"Alright." Ellis said.

After a few awkward moments, he added, "okay, I'm duct-taped to my chair. I don't suppose you could..."

"Right." The youth gestured to one of his associates who took off the bindings, watching Ellis very closely all the while.

"Thank you." He rubbed his wrists. "I don't suppose you could provide me any intel or resources? Like I said, I am rather new to this place."

"I don't remember that being a part of our agreement. Although if I were you, I would watch my tongue by the Gilmen District, not many people there are fond of others speaking against the Death Angels." The youth ended his sentence with a wink.

"Right. Which way is out?"

"The door behind you, and look as suspicious as you can when you walk out."

"Umm... okay."

Ellis peeked out the door, scanning the area and making sure people noticed him. He then walked out casual as possible, letting the stares follow.

"Gilmen District... Gilmen District..."

The youth watched as Ellis walked out the door. "Counting idiot, I said as suspicious as possible. No wonder we picked him up so easily. Now Benthen, see if you can run this sword down to headquarters, find out how much it's actually worth before he comes back."

"If you didn't know, why'd ya let 'im go?"

"Benthen Benthen Benthen, I do the thinking, remember? Just see if my estimate was right. Cill will stay with me and our new friend here. Let's see if she wakes up. Oh, and Benthen, send a sketch artist down will you? I want to add these two to our database."

Benthen nodded and hid the sword on his person before leaving the room. The youth turned to a small stack of papers that were sitting int he corner, whipped out a pen, and started to work on them.
