"You have to be more specific than that, Sarah." Ellis patronized.

"Oh, sorry, Granpa." Melody smiled.

"So, who are you looking for?"

"We're trying to find... someone who disagrees with the way this city is run."

The woman's eyes widen. "What?"

"I'm really into activism."

The woman nods, accepting this answer. "There are a couple. Some more exclusive than others."

"Can you list them, please?"

"Listen, I'm really not supposed to be talking about this here. Come into the back."

The woman led the way into the back of her booth, where she sat down on one of four chairs. "Please, have a seat."

Halfway debating having her either be a member of one of them or call one of them to come get these two people who are obviously from out of town. Or both.

"Thank you. These old bones aren't going to hold me up any longer." He sat down.

"You're welcome. Can I offer you anything to eat or drink?"

"Just water, if you don't mind."

"Of course. And for your lovely granddaughter?"

"The same, thanks."

The woman smiled and stood, turning to get the drinks.

"Water for her as well."

Sorry, edited it in.

She handed them each a glass and sat down again, holding one for herself. "So, you wanted to know about activist groups?"

"That's right."

"The most well known one is also the most powerful. They're the ones who run the black market and do things that... the leader doesn't want to do. Then there's the one against it."

"What's their name?"

"It's long and kind of hard to pronounce. We just call them the mafia here."

Melody sipped her drink, nodding along.

"And who's the other one?"

The woman took a drink, cleared her throat, and sighed. "The Death Angels. They may oppose our leader, but everywhere they go, death follows."

Gerald floated to the top of the tower where the magician had been.

@Ookla the Wistful

A small child looked over the edge of the tower, hair fluttering in the wind.
