Luke sucked in some of the emotions of everyone around him, feeling himself become more capable mentally. He could comprehend what was going on around him, he could recall information with better precision, he could think faster. Thinking fast was very important at times like these. With an inhumanly quick survey of the situation, his accelerated thought process led him to the conclusion that running away from this foe would be preferable. That grenade could probably pierce Luke's Veil, and he wouldn't be able to get in with his sword if he has to worry about his foe pulling a grenade on him. Unfortunately, he couldn't just leave Lloyd here after tagging along, So instead he decided to op into hiding behind the ice wall with the ice girl and... What was that? Luke hadn't noticed it before, but swore he could see black lines, almost like veins running up and down her. Had he ever heard anything about this? Not right now, there is a man with a gun. Luke rolled behind the ice wall.

I believe I can deal with it if need be but a wall would be preferable." And Luke was keeping an eye on that grenade. It would be risky, but he could try and knock it away. He would need more mental speed, and that meant less emotion. Even smarter Luke knew that it was best to not have to resort to that. He would be unbearable for hours.
