Hoid the Former Drifter he/him Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 Does Wyndle know that Darkness is a Herald? After all, he does call him a "deific Shardbearer," not just a Shardbearer.
Honorless he/him Posted August 6, 2020 Posted August 6, 2020 (edited) The spren seem to know of the truth regarding Aharietiam, they seem to know that the Heralds abandoned the Oathpact. It stands to reason that they might recognize the Heralds. Could the spren detect Honorblades or able to differentiate between Shardblades & Honorblades? Syl does talk about Szeth's Honorblade and how he's not bound by oaths in WoK but I also seem to recall Dalinar worrying about someone with an Honorblade pretending to be a Radiant in OB Edited August 6, 2020 by Honorless

Hoid the Former Drifter he/him Posted August 7, 2020 Author Posted August 7, 2020 We know that the Radiants' oaths are known as truths. Szeth has an Honorblade, so he has the power without speaking the truths. Hence, truthless.

That might be the origin of the term but it entails more than just having an honourblade.

He's called Truthless because he claimed that the Voidbringers were returning. Truthless is part of Shin culture. Being Truthless meant Szeth had to obey anyone who had his oathstone. It's why he's so angry at the Shin leaders that his Ideal of Crusade was sworn against them. Edited August 7, 2020 by Honorless

Hoid the Former Drifter he/him Posted August 9, 2020 Author Posted August 9, 2020 why did he get one?

+Invocation Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 (edited) 3 hours ago, Hoid the Drifter said: why did he get one? My money is on it being because he was manifesting Radiant powers from an already apparent bond (he said something about having heard another voice in his head when he was young and that he hoped this one went better when talking to Nightblood, plus him having killed his highspren once before would explain why it's so shy even on top of the threat of Nightblood). They couldn't just cut that off, they had to have some explanation, and so they trained him on the Honorblades. Edited August 9, 2020 by Invocation 2
