Possibly? I've heard that classical literature is worth reading, but I haven't really given it a serious attempt.

Do you know what a zatalef is?

I do now! Thanks Coppermind :P

By your reckoning how many one armed Herdazians would it take to man a Bobsled?

What is the best book you've ever read ever?

There are a lot of contenders, especially cosmere books, so I'll disregard cosmere books. Other than cosmere, I really loved Ender's Game, as well as the Three Body Problem.

Are you celebrating Valentines day?

Not really. I hate being told what to read.

Have you read the Swords online comic?

I suppose so. It's an interesting thread.

Have you ever been overcome by emotion while reading a book, and if so what book(s) and what emotion(s)?

Posted (edited)

Yes, “Don’t Stop Thinking about Tomorrow” by Siobhan Curham and “They Both Die in the End” by Adam Silvera. The former was hope and the latter sadness. I have read books that are better at conveying both those emotions (not to say that these weren’t great) but when I read these books I was extremely overtired and I find when I’m exhausted my emotions are magnified.

What was the first chapter book you ever remember reading? (gonna have to stretch deep into the memory archives for this one)

I don't remember. Earliest I can think of is The Hobbit at age eight or so, but I know I read chapter books before then. I just can't remember their names!

Have you read the illustrious glory that is The Wheel of Time? Which of the 14 is your favorite if you have?

Posted

I have read the first two, but have not been able to get my hands on the third one yet, but I'm excited for what's coming. I have a friend who is really into Wheel of Time(and Cosmere) who has been aggressively suggesting that I should read so that's kind of how it started.

Hobbit or lord of the rings? (books for both, because the hobbit movies are inferior in almost every way than the lotr movies)

You are in for a wild, wild ride my friend.

The Lord of the Rings. While The Hobbit is an excellent book, lotr is what completely reinvented an entire genre. It's also more deeply connected to the vastness of Tolkien's lore and that was my introduction to the wonders of epic fantasy. But The Silmarillion is better than both.

Do you own a real, functional sword?

I think that actually goes to Harry Potter because it was the first book series I actually read, and kind of got me into fantasy as a whole.

Have you ever tried to draw a character from your favorite book series?

Posted

The one in RoW when Jasnah keeps telling him to be "Harsher"

Favorite fictional (named) weapon?

Doesn't really look like a weapon but that would be the Camera Obscura.

What's the latest you've stayed up reading?

Posted

I think I've stayed up until like 4 in the morning sometime (insomnia is fun)

have you seen any studio ghibli movies?
