I've noticed that different shards interact with their worlds more than others. Cultivation is one that I think intervenes a lot more than others. Honor is another example. I think that this reflects on Roshar societies. In the east, there is a lot more of fulfilling pacts and promises. I know this is a stretch, yet in the west their society seems to be more diplomatic and advanced or more grown in nature.

Am I looking too much into this?

Maybe. I think they’re more developed in politics and such because they’ve had longer to develop. (Assuming that the humans spread from shin was a slow one). Although I’ve never considered it’s was cultivation’s influence. It’s an interesting thought.

A big passive effect Cultivation has is on how quickly the plant and animal life from Ashyn has adapted(like the Ryshadium) so quickly.

Assuming that humans spread from shinnovar, why don't we see Ashyn plants in other places?

Are Ryshadium just more adaptive or are some of the plants out east just an evolved version of there original species?

No soil.  Most earth plants can't grow on rock or survive highstorms.

Yeah, we don't know if something magical was done to make Shinovar better-suited to humanity when it arrived (this sort of thing is trivial for the Shards to manage) or if it was always naturally sheltered, but the environment further east is simply inhospitable to the flora and fauna humans brought with them. Horses can be kept outside of Shinovar but they're noted to be really expensive and pretty much everything else has to be imported from there.

The Ryshadium have a spren-bond that's helped them adapt better to Roshar than the original horses they're descended from. Pretty much everything else on Roshar predates the arrival of humanity and the species they were able to bring with them and evolved over time in response to the environment that Adonalsium set up for Mysterious Reasons.

Her effect is subtle in a way, but she’s doing a lot.
You can see it most overtly in places like Shinovar where farmers are the best thing one can be and warriors are really low ranking members of society.

(The treatment of warriors in Shinovar may also have to do with the ancient barely remembered history of humans on Roshar.)

The Horneaters have a similar though not as harsh hierarchy, the 4th son is the warrior the other three are focused on things like food and craftsmanship. Cultivation’s perpendicularity is located in the Horneater Peaks.

in WoK chapter “Child of Tanavast” Kaladin dreams he is the High Storm and observes there is more fighting in the East than the West. Partially Cultivation, but also Odium has the Thrill and Moeloch in the East.

I feel like the Azish society most clearly show Honor’s influence with their insistence on formal contracts for everything. The Alethi once were more honorable, but The Thrill has been working on them for too long.

Aside from the giant beasts, there’s a tremendous  variety of life forms on Roshar. Singers, Humans, Humans with metallic gold skin (Iriali), two Singer/Human hybrids (Horneaters and Herdazians) two types of Aimians that are extremely different from each other.

Them there is the Old Magic. Can’t think of another Shard that takes requests from whoever comes to visit. I know her Spren usually does it, but still.

The Diagram came about from Cultivation herself doing a Boon/Bane to Taravangian.

The Nightwatcher offers Nightblood to Dalinar when he visits. I take this to mean Cultivation / Nightwatcher are probably responsible for Vasher/ Zahel not having it anymore and it ending up with Nale. .

She’s got her roots in a lot of things. :)

Is this saying that Cultivation took it when they entered through her perpendicularity? Do all shards have this ability to influence things to this extent that travel through their perpendicularity, or is Cultivation just more involved?
