I've tried several times across a span of months, maybe years, and I never receive the confirmation email. It's frustrating because every time something interesting arrives with the newsletter everyone is like "I'm not telling you what it was about, sign up for yourself if you want to see." Well thanks, that's what I've been trying to do.

You could try making a gmail account for the newsletters, see if they go through there. You could also forward mail from gmail to your main account, perhaps that will solve whatever's going wrong. I've been using gmail though. I think I'll try with a different account, one that isn't so full to the brim with other notifications. If that doesn't work I'll have to believe there's some restriction by country, though that also seems unlikely.
