(An awesome visualization of severing the soul) but if you hacked at a dead body ( be it human or great shell) will it slice? There are references to dead bodies piling up around shardbarrers pinning them down, but once they are dead can’t you just... idk. Dice your way out? What is the consensus on this?

Braizier Posted July 16, 2020 Author Posted July 16, 2020 I suppose there is specific reference in the way of Kings to the advantage of hammers knocking bodies away rather than the blades letting the pile up around you. And I suppose it was said that the blades cut “too well” re: rocks, needing hammers to actually break up and haul the chunks out. so even if you do “dice” a dead body i suppose it wouldn’t remove the obstruction. Just make a bigger mess/atrocity.

A dead body can be cut. This is how they extract gemhearts from casmfiends. There are descriptions in WoKs. 1

I think it was Adolin that talked about how he always had to do at least two swings, one that killed but didnt damage the flesh and the second to start actually digging once it's just meat. 1
