Hello everybody! I've been lurking for a few months but decided to finally say something lol

Skyward was my first Sanderson book and it blew my mind. After that I was really intrigued by the Cosmere but through some coincidences/what was available at my library I instead read Rithmatist and Reckoners first. Then I wanted to read through the Cosmere in publication order, but then Brandon did the thing with releasing The Way of Kings ebook for free on May 4 and I impulsively read that, and now I'm reading through Warbreaker before going on with Words of Radiance (people say you should do that, right?).

Excited to join this community! :D

Yeah, I started going through the Stormlight forums from before 2014 to look at discussion while avoiding Words of Radiance spoilers, which kind of worked but there was still a lot of stuff about cosmere connections I didn't understand haha

That is indeed something people say you should do. Welcome to the Shard! Where are you in Warbreaker?

I’m at around halfway, after Vivenna talks to the forgers. Is there anything else besides Warbreaker I should read before continuing on with Stormlight?

Not really. Ideally though, Stormlight should be the last of Brandon's published works that you read

There’s nothing else you need to read, but I would recommend finishing the book just because it’s good. You’ll also want to have finished it before reading Oathbringer.

Welcome! What's your favorite book, Sanderson or not?

Strangely enough, despite me reading mostly fantasy and most of my favorite books being fantasy, my all time favorite is actually historical fiction- Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys. Way of Kings came REALLY close to dethroning it though.

Also, thanks for the advice everyone! I do wish a bit that I’d gotten to read through the rest of the Cosmere before Stormlight, but I’m excited to reread Stormlight after getting through everything else and gaining a new understanding of it then.
