"Maybe you are, but what if you make it worse?"

"It feels right, right now. It feels right to try this."

Ayia took in a breath, then looked at Camelia. "What do you think, Cammie?"

@Random Bystander

"I... I don't know." She whispered. She put her knees up, and hid her face in her knees to hide her tears. "We don't know enough. There are very few Soulcasters as it is, and even fewer Savants. A Soulcaster like mine is even rarer." She looked up. "I... I'll think about it. I don't think we should just surge forward like an advancing stormwall. I need to read more about Savants." She shook her head. "It's not fair." She said, tears streaming down her face. "Tin Savants get extremely enhanced senses. Pewter Savants heal quickly. Soulcasting Savants turn into whatever it is that they soulcast."

"Okay." Ayia held her in a hug. "Alright, dearie. I get it."

"Rusts, I'm sorry. I shouldn't be putting more on your plate. You have enough to worry about." She said with a sniff.

"Nono. You're fine." Ayia stroked Camelia's hair. "You wanna go talk to Fadran about it?"

Man, I feel weird making one of my characters recommend you to another one of my characters...

She shrugged. "Sure." She said. I'm tired. She grabbed a bronze vial, drank it, and burned it. She felt a jolt of energy, and stood up. "Okay. Now I can actually do stuff without passing out." She said, with a bit more energy than she had earlier. She was still missing her usual optimism, though.

"Okay. Come on." Ayia still held Camille's aluminum-speckled hand.

Camelia followed Ayia, feeling really frazzled.

Tvora takes a few moments to calm down and clear her eyes, then takes Camelia's hand and draws a dagger. She puts the dagger next to one of the aluminum bits of Camelia's hand, then pauses. "Can I keep going?" she asks Camelia, glancing up at her before returning her concentration to the dagger.

Is Camelia going to answer Tvora's question?

"Yup." She said gloomily. "And not just any kind of Savantism, I'm a Soulcasting Savant."

"So... if I recall, by definition Savantism is using Investiture abilities so much that the Investiture becomes fused to your soul. Right?"

"More or less, yeah."

"Then I have a... temporary solution." Fadran tapped his fingers against a tree. "But you're not gonna like it."

"Uh..." She had a concerned look on her face. "And what do you mean by that." She asked slowly.

"Just to stop the spreading. I'm no planar scholar, so I couldn't tell you how to fix it permanently."

She grimaced. I'm going to have to go to the Nightwatcher, aren't I. "Okay. So, what's your solution?"

"Stop using Investiture."

She winced. "Ouch." She muttered. I had a feeling that he was going to suggest something like that... "Uh... That's easier said than done..." How in Damnations eleventh name am I supposed to worldhop without investiture?

"For now, anyways. If you absoluely have to, use it. As nasty as soulcasting savant effects are, I'd rather you have a metal arm than be dead." Fadran looked at her. "Is that acceptable?"

"Yeah." Rusts. Now I have to sleep like a normal person.
