"Not really."  There's time for discussion, but it's not now.

Ayia glanced around. "Are you sure?"

"I think so."

"Buddy..." Ayia leaned in a bit. "You really scared me earlier. Can you at least say... something? About how you're doing?"

"I'm fine now.  Other than that..." He shrugs, spreading his hands.  "I'm not really in control of it.  That's the whole point."

"There's no way to... turn it off or get it out?"

"Yes to both.  But the first isn't possible, and the second requires a lot of money, a neurosurgeon, and very specific equipment."

Crispin looked around at everyone. He was dressed in an immaculate uniform, with creases so sharp that they could kill, and an array of medals arranged in a perfect order. He had a cap on with an insignia on it, and he had a decorative sword at his side. He looked to be around the age of Elduvar, in his late twenties, perhaps early thirties, with light tan skin, bright blond hair, and green eyes. He closed his eyes for a moment, willing his clothes to shift, and suddenly he was dressed in civilian clothes in relaxed, cool colors and he had a nice pair of shades on. A table with a map of Sel on it appeared in front of him. "So, what's the plan? I'll try to help as I can."

yes. the map adjusts to where we are, so unless I am, once again, getting this completely wrong, the map just shows the general area around Sel. You can scroll or input new coordinates to go to a different section.

"We don't have the time to do that.  Overthrowing a king, remember?"  Martin kind of misses Earth.  No magic.  He could have dealt with this situation a long time ago if he had decent intel and orders.

"Do you know what Fadran's doing?" Ayia asked, crossing her arms.

"Organizing overthrowing a king?"

"Nope." Ayia pointed over at the command tent. "He's in there. In that tent, with Queen, presumably responsible enough not to need a chaperone, setting up some magicky-mumbo-jumbo headquarters so that we can all split up without actually splitting up."

"Oh."  He needs to pay more attention to what's going on.

"Now he didn't tell anybody that because he's an idiot, but if what he's doing works..." Ayia looked Martin in eye, "we could... maybe get that chip out of your brain."

Martin takes the sudden flare of hope that starts to form and shoves it into the back of his mind harshly.  There are too many variables.  "That would be..."  How does he finish that?  "Nice."
