"They're so busy being... that... that they forget people."  Martin takes a deep breath.  "Like leaving a war camp who needs commanders to go negotiate with deities."  Is that too far?  He doesn't know.  "It's always about the next ones they can save."  Never the ones who are safe.  "I'll watch your back.  I'm too confused to go die heroically.  If you want me too, that is."
