"Alright. So, what should I do first?"

"Place your feet apart so you can rest on either one at any moment, bend your elbows for a more directive feel... one shoulder in front of the other, maybe?"

Also, aren't we walking? Are we taking a break right now, or are you and I constantly stopping and falling behind everyone else?

I'm not sure. Time isn't really a thing on forum RPs.

Queen followed his instructions, stepping out and rotating her torso so that her shoulders were perpendicular to her hips, her right shoulder pointing forward. "Like this? What do I do with my hands?" She asks, awkwardly holding her hands in front of her with bended elbows.

"Palms wide, facing towards whatever it is you're using your magic on. Don't put your shoulder quite that far. Here, uh..." He carefully adjusts her posture. "Like that."

T straps on the glider as Ember watches. She carefully takes the amulet and puts it on. Then, she reaches towards the amulet with her mind. Through it, she can feel the air, moving gently around her. As she steps towards the balcony overlooking the center of the room, she revels in being able to feel something as she feels her fields.

As T straps on the glider, Ember notices folds of fabric on her shirt under her arms. Self conscious, he moves his arms slightly, feeling similar folds concealed under his armor. She is who I'm supposed to find, but what should I do now? Tawny doesn't know that she's here.

Find me, Fox!

Also, Nath, if you die, I'll kill you.

Unfortunately, Fox does not know you exist.

And I don't think that second one is how things work....

I float in the endless void. Shapes stir around me. Distant echos descend, but are lost. I am hungry in ways that cannot be called hunger. I thirst for something that I cannot even begin to describe. Words, ideas, concepts they are without value to me. Silence is my companion. It holds me tightly and pulls me ever deeper into its arms.

Fox looked at Nath's eyes, unfocused and distant. She remembered when once she too had been that way. Fox wanted to do something, to change something, but she couldn't. She focused on the love and warmth that he had been channeling to her for so long, and on that ingot of strength that lay buried in her stomach. It was all that was keeping her afloat.

Wait. There was something else here. Something beyond love and warmth. Something, visual... something.... tangible. Fox closed her eyes, concentrating. Was that........ a door? She reached out with her mind to open the door. She stepped through the door and was no longer in the wood kneeling beside Nath, but somewhere else...

I gave you the perfect opportunity to have Fadran adjust Queen's hands, and you didn't take it.

Queen nods, unable to do anything else, as she is focusing all of her mental energy on restraining the blush that threatened to creep over her face. "Now...I just try to do some magic?"

I couldn't find a way to do that that didn't make the writing itself awkward. Here, I'll do it in this post.

"First, find your source, and then focus on your target. Try to do your best to clear yourself of any strong emotions, as they can really affect what happens with your magic. Then, open your source and direct it through your hands, to your target." He frowns, then lifts one of her hands up a little.

"There. Ah..." He may or may not be hiding a blush himself. "If the source is particularly strong and you need to not kill yourself, then just let it disperse into the ground through your feet. Having a power ancor is essential for incredibly potent sources: the more you focus your magic, the more it uses you as a conduit, and the more likely it is that you'll knock yourself out and have a magical fever dream, which are never fun but almost always plot-related. You should use your ancor instinctively with any magical source no matter how strong; you'll be able to train yourself to control how much you control and how much you disperse. With all that out of the way..." He took a step behind her. "Give it a go."

You forgot the 'h' in 'anchor.'

Queen tried to keep all of this in mind as she reached for her enhancement powers. She held her hands out toward Herate, focusing the power toward her. Then, she released the power. Instead of the flood of rocks that she was used to, only a few pebbles trickled by, in contrast to the wave of enhancement that came flooding from her hands. "Well, I'd say that worked." She said, looking at her hands in shock.

Is this where I am? I think it's below the flying building, and that's where I am.

Herate glances over and stifles a smile at Queen and Fadran. Then she feels a huge rush of power and stumbles back, falling on her back. "Whoa," is the only thing she can say.

"Great!" Fadran says cheerfully. "It worked! Alright... anything else you want to try? Combat magic? Mind shielding? Teleportation?"

I’m actually working on a wiki for the fellowship that will give information to people joining so that it will be easier. I didn’t know if I’d ever actually finish it though, so I was going to keep it a secret until I finished the most of it.

Good placement of the apostrophe, people usually get that wrong.

Also, this is my 1,000 post, everyone! I purposefully made it FotT.

Herate cocked her head. "All of a sudden I feel this strange urge to . . . celebrate. That's weird." She ignored it and waved at Queen. "Trying something new?"

"Yep!" Queen said to Herate. "Just trying to figure out my magicky-ness." She looked back toward Fadran. "Mind shielding and teleportation sound cool. We can try those. I don't know how good I'll be at combat magic, but I'd be willing to try that, too."

"Alright, then. We'll start with mind shielding... it'll probably be a rather important skill, seeing as how your magic is largely mental.

"I'm not sure if any stances would help you with this skill in particular, but being comfortable is important, because to shield your mind you can't have any distractions. We'll start with that, actually... push aside any distractions, like pain or strong emotions. It may seem cliche to 'clear your mind,' but in my experience, a lot of things tend to be correct if they're cliche. So... clear your mind. No distractions. Go."
