The Fox looked skeptically at the newcomer. Taking food from strangers wouldn't have been the Fox's first thought, but hey, let themselves get killed. Her stomach grumbled. She guessed a part of her did want some tacos, then. This figure must be playing off all of their hunger. She let her right hand rest lightly on the hilt of one of her daggers that lived in her hoodie's big pocket up front. Her left hand danced into the left side of her hoodie, looking for a very specific pocket. Ahhh, yes. A stale muffin, probably from a hotel breakfast rested there. It was gourmetly smushed with a light seasoning of blood to top it off. She took the muffin, and stuffed the entire thing into her mouth, spitting out the paper a moment later. She must have placed the thing there at some point, but she didn't know from when.

The others were distracted by more voodoo stuff, so the Fox kept her eyes trained on the newcomer. Very suspicious.

*Sets up yellow tapeline* So, do you actually want the Spiritcalling to work, or no? If so, then is there anything I should know, or is it just a "fire away" situation?

I think it should work.  If you can find what's blocking the memories and destroy it, I'll write out a nice long post where Kindness has memory overload and gets a bare bones backstory.  It'll be fun.

"There's... definitely something here," Fadran says the moment he touches the paper. "I don't think I could find it if we weren't here specifically. There's some sort of... barrier on your mind. I can't tell who put it there, though... or why."

"It's keeping me from doing something?"  Kindness asks.  She closes her eyes, trying to visualize it.

Oh. Er... Forget that post, please

"Okay."

Fadran felt at... whatever it was that was blocking Kindness's memories. With a mental grunt (yes, those exist), he pried at it, trying to remove it.

"Hang on." He says, eyes screwed with concentration. "I need... I hope you don't mind..." He placed a finger on Kindness's forehead, improving the Bond. "Much better."

With yet another mental grunt of exertion, the cap was off, and a tidal wave of memories blasted him out of the Bond.

"Whoa!" Fadran says. "I think it's off."

"Before you ask for things that you may regret knowing about you should ask yourself if it is worth it." I gesture toward Vapor. "Knowledge like that which you seek will place her in grave danger. Can you live with that? Think about it." I turn away and leave him standing by himself. I walk up to Fox until we are side by side. "Such caution is unusual for most mortals that I have known. It will serve you well. Be sure that it does not hold you back."

The figure(Taln, for now) stood awkwardly to the side, wondering if he should do something to help.
“Er. . . Is there anything I should be doing to help right now?”

“Not really. It only involves Fadran and whoever he’s doing the Spiritcalling with- in this case, Kindness.”

The Fox nodded toward Nath. “I will try to be careful.”

Kindness stumbles, reaching up to her temples.  Then, she giggles, as so much happiness washes over her.  Her younger sister and all the other young hugspren.  Running through the obsidian plains.  Spinning around and around and around so her skirts flare out in pretty colors, and the gardens her family had visited.

Then, one day, a fight, over something silly.  A hair ribbon?  Or a sash?  She had run away, had sat on the empty plains by herself, before an irresistable pull that had spun her away, away, away, and into being.

She had been alone then, like never before.  There had always been someone.  A neighbor, or a friend.  But she hadn't noticed that that was missing.  How was that possible?  But even then, she had been happy.  Because there where other people who were happy.  She had made them happy, with a smile, or a hug, or a few times, even a flower petal.  That one had been hard.

Kindness blinks, shaking away the grasp of the memories now filling her head.  She looks around at her friends.  "I think they're back," she says, trying to smother a smile, and failing.  "I remember!"  She spins around like she had when she was little.  After a moment, she stops.  "I'm going to pass out now," she informs them.

Then collapses.

Kindness is fine, that was just a lot at once for her.  Will Kindness's happiness attract Winter?  @KyL will know!

The figure, looking downcast, wanted to help, but figured it was what he deserved because of his past mistakes. He shuddered at the thought of his past. He looked up.
“Ok. Tell me when you need my assistance. I am sorry for butting in.” He walks over to Fox. “Hello. Are you in need of assistance? Do you need any tacos?”

Fadran catches her, setting her down carefully.

Behind the group, but rather far away, a white and silver figure materialized, standing on a hill thing.

Happiness. Yami wanted that for me. But it is not sufficient. I should not have come.

Wait, I know those people!

Hurry, leave. Don't let them slow you down, leave.

But where is the happiness? It is not enough. I should not have come.

Wait, hold on. Earlier, the flood of emotion. From the one who calls the storms. He could be them all.

That is true.
