Keeper of the Lost Cities

I was looking at the forums and was ashamed to find that there was no Keeper of the Lost Cities topic. This is for anyone who would like to talk about KotLC.

Three main questions: 1. Who do you ship? 2. Which is your favorite book? 3. Which is your favorite character?

My sister is a HUGE fan. (She's currently on her fifth read-through.) Here are her answers:

I got into the books for a while back in junior high, but I stopped connecting with them after some time for whatever reason. Guess I just grew out of the simple middle grade writing.

1:  Linh and Wylie.  I'm done with the main love triangle, though.  

2: probably Lodestar or Nightfall.  Maybe Legacy.

3: Wylie and Tiergan.  Wish they both had more page time.

 

Controversial opinion (maybe, I'm not active in the fandom because it's all shipping): Kill either a Vacker, Grady, Edaline, or Dex to up the stakes and show how ruthless the Neverseen truly are.  But it's a middle grade book so probably not.

1. I liked Fitz but then he started acting out of character.  I get that he is going through a lot but he is not the Fitz I liked

2. I have a thing for first books

3. I actually thin Sophie has a really well written internal PoV that is often hard with main characters.

Alright lemme tell you about my conspiracy theory. 

So. There are Hydrokinetics for water, Pyrokinetics for fire, Gusters for air, Flashers for quintessence, and Shades for shadowflux, but there's nothing for earth. So my theory is that it's this super powerful ability that has only been had once before, but it's so rare that no one talks about it. The one person that had it was the one to, like, sink Atlantis and hollow out the Himalayas for the Sanctuary, but they died tragically. No one talks about it now because why would Sophie have it? but somehow it's in her DNA and so she gets it when Mr. Forkle triggers a different ability. That's what I'm hoping, at least.

I am very happy to have found this chat. I've always had a thing for middle-grade novels, they bring something to the table that you just can't find in adult/young adult/etc.

1. Team Foster-Keefe; Bianex; Tam x Glimmer; Wylinh; there are more but I have forgotten

2. Unlocked is wonderful.

3. Grady is fascinating to me is a character, and I just love Edaline.

I hate Fitz now after Nightfall I just hated him, I hope I don't get murdered by people who love Fitz.
