djeffs Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 So you know how Tor released a chapter a week at a time for the first 32 of oath bringer leading up to the release? Any idea whether tor will do that for stormlight 4? I could sure use some of that in my life right now 1
+asmodeus Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 Brandon answered this question here. The Prologue for the Oathbringer Preview appeared on Tor's website on August 22nd, for a November 12th release. So, expect it to start sometime in August for SA4 too. 6
equinox Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 This is great news! I'm very much looking forward to to August. Also, thank you for linking the reddit update. I somehow missed it... 1
+robardin he/him Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 Ohhhhhhh storms. I'd promised myself I'd wait for the full release this time, as I felt my initial disappointment with Oathbringer's pacing smoothed away on re-reads, and I concluded it was because I had done the "Dickensian one chapter a week" thing for a work that was not intended to be read that way. But like Teft says with the firemoss, the longing is still there. 1

Maybe Fibonacci style? Re-reading the last two chapters with each newly released chapter?
discorat she/her Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 I didn't read oathbringer one chapter/week but maybe I should do that this time? i feel like my first read of oathbringer went by so fast I hardly remember my initial thoughts except crying. Can we also just prayer circle that kaladin smiles in this book i will have a breakdown if anything happens to him and next semester is gonna be a rough one for me 2

They were the high point of the week for me with OB (and I was iffy about reading pre-chapters at first). And the discussion threads on here were so much fun too. 2
djeffs Posted April 15, 2020 Author Posted April 15, 2020 I’m super excited, but I just wish it could happen now! Can you imagine the hype on discussion boards right now while everyone is in quarantine? ps I wonder if it’s gonna feel like the end of mistborn era 1 when we all come out of isolation... 1

I try not to read the pre-release chapters because that means there's less of the book to read on release day, and I want it ALL. We can stay strong, Radiant.
