Wit: He doesn't want to be trusted. He told Dalinar as much. Szeth: Obey Dalinar. People will eventually accept that even if he is really creepy, he's at least on their side. Renarin: Jasnah already trusts him, and he's got bridge 4 to intimidate anyone who disagrees. 3

This one is absolutely the most clear-cut. Bridge Four, the eternal intimidating uncle-group, ready to beat up on anyone who distrusts Renarin. 2
Karger he/him Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 I don't think anyone currently alive is going to actually trust Szeth. Renarin as of right now can't even trust himself. Wit is obviously not trustworthy nor does he want to be trusted but certain people(Shallan, Adolin, Kaladin, maybe Dalinar and Jasnah) probably trust him anyway. Szeth's name will never be cleared but if he behaves perfectly he might be trusted by someone 20 years from now. Until we know what is going on with Renarin no one can trust him. Wit is not interested in trust. Shallan really just needs to come clean to her family at least. 1

The Skybreakers he/him Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 I doubt that Szeth will try that hard to clear his name, except to say that it was another life 1
Nuatoma Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 (edited) Shallan: Probably only Jasnah would have suspicions of her at this point. Given her history with Jasnah, trust may be tough to repair. Only way is to start being open. Wit: I'm not sure why Wit is even listed; I wasn't aware he was a part of the coalition. He has given some advice, but I didn't know he petitioned to be included. He has proven to be somewhat honest though by providing Jasnah with drawings of the Heralds which she verified. Szeth: I think by being a teacher and following his oaths he will gain trust. Also learning his history. People may not like what he did, but they have to understand the world has changed and they'll need every asset they can get. Renarin: Shallan here is the one that won't trust Renarin due to her relationship with Wit. Wit told Shallan to not trust anybody who can see the future. The rest of the coalition may not take this as seriously as Shallan because they like Renarin and he has never caused trouble. This will be a thorn in the Shadolin marriage. Her brother's arrival may seem a little suspicious, but it's hardly enough to make people jump to the conclusion that Shallan is an agent of the ghostbloods. 11 hours ago, Oltux72 said: So what do they do to verify what he says? They can test it. That's about it. 11 hours ago, Oltux72 said: Intimidating people really causes trust. Well, it's more of a "he's a member of bridge four, and he's a Radiant." Most people probably won't know that Renarin has a corrupted bond. Even Mraize might not know, and he's a leader of the Ghostbloods. The people who do know will be the Kholins, the coalition leaders, and all the main Radiants. Kaladin won't discriminate, so Bridge 4 won't, Jasnah already decided to trust him, Dalinar and Navani will trust Jasnah's judgement, and the coalition leaders might be wary at first, but they will eventually come to trust him. 1

Skybreakers and the Highspren don't strike me as the types who would endorse subterfuge, so the Nahel bond could be easily broken if he lied. And if Nightblood started seeing Szeth as evil...

Wit is a free agent. He may prove helpful but he is not really a member of team radiant. He is here to do his own thing. Szeth is a first rate example of what happens when a radiant gets out of hand. Rosharans see future sight as devilish and Renarin does not consider himself trustworthy or reliable(for good reason I might add). 3 hours ago, Elsecaller_17.5 said: Did that happen? The only reason people on another cosmere world know is because the whole story was written down.
