Okay. Right after Siri starts talking to Susebron, she asks "Scoot" what happened to the other God Kings. The answer she gets is that they gave up their breath. One God King supposedly gave up his breath to cure some diseases. What troubles me about this is this. How? I thought maybe one of his breaths went to one of the people who were sick, and the extra breath helped heal their sickness. But if that's the case, then what happens to the thousands of other breaths once all the sick people are cured?

And if that's the case, (him giving up his breaths to help the sick people) isn't contact needed to transfer a breath? He can only give up his breath once, and it's all or nothing.

To answer this question would probably take spoilers. Keep reading and it will become more clear. Remember that what Siri is told isn't necessarily true.

Very light spoilers

Spoiler

Wait for the story teller.  A certain master Hoid will be entertaining at the court of the gods soon.

Okay, since you have finished it now, in case you missed some of it or have more questions

The previous God King used his Divine Breath, not Peacegiver's Treasure of 50,000 Breaths which is what makes him and his predecessors & successors of God Kings distinct from the other Returned in the Court of Gods. Breath can be given in a manner that is not all-or-nothing, as Vasher demonstrates. Divine Breaths can be used in other ways than what the people are aware of.
