"I don't know."

Mike whispered, slowly pushed himself back to his feet. He looked at the spike again, wiped the blood of the metal.

"I wanted them gone for years, but now that she's gone I wish I had her back."

Standing up he pocketed the spike, it felt right to keep it, it had been a part of him for so long. Leaning against a wall he took a moment to consider Wes words.

"It's not like I ask them to do something." He explained, " They just take control and then I have to watch whatever they do. I have no idea how to stress some attributes of them. I just try to stay in control. Squid is nice, Wolf protects they all are different. But maybe you can keep them in check with food. I don't mind, should you want to try one day."

He fell silent, smiled at his friends, felt Fox stir again. Fox. His hand formed a fist when fear surged again.

Seom set her hand on his arm, not knowing what to say.

Mike closed his fingers around the Bendalloymind. Hurt them. Make them fear him. Stay in control. Grateful he pocketed the metalmind and nodded.

"Yes. That is a good idea. I will stay in control."

It felt good to have a way,a possibility. This was his body and he wouldn't give it away, no. His body. His alone. They would follow his orders. A grim smile spread on his lips when he pushedhimself away from the wall. Orders. They had some orders to follow as well.

"We should go. I doubt the Righthand will be pleased if we take hours."

Slowly he closed his fingers around Seom's, held her hand for a moment, thankful that she was here, that she accepted him like that.

Mac walked forward behind Voidus. Stopping just as a goodbye escaped his mentors lips.

Life before death.

For the second time in a couple of minutes Mac was struck by how they could embody that oath right now. He sought to follow through the promises he made to the first citizens of this city, and to preserve what he had helped build. They were saving the lives of those who were dead. Helping them when they couldn't help themselves, giving them new opportunities to create new life for themselves.

For the second time in a couple of decades, the DA was on the side of the city.

This city stood as a direct testament to the power of Hemalurgy. The man in front of him used the power of Ruin to create a place that was home to thousands of people. A system designed by the embodiment of entropy had created something that had lasted for hundreds of thousands of years. Maybe longer. It represented the triumph of creation over chaos and emptiness.

So why did people try to tear it down? Why did he use to be someone who would have done that?

Perspective, he thought. Smirking, he continued. It all seems to come down to perspective. Those who lack it don't seek to build, they seek to destroy. They think they are the most important, and that the only reason to live is for themselves. Its when they see that they aren't the only people there that they realize there errors. He started walking around voidus, inspecting the body of Ajax within its metal cage. Musing on the connectivity of his thoughts. They all seemed to focus around perspective.

Of course, from other's perspectives we are the same way.

We have spiked enough people to fill a city, and we've done it in the name of science. Of the future. While some would see us as living for ourselves, taking what was others and keeping it for ourselves, we see ourselves as living for the future. Gathering knowledge for those who will come later. That they would be able to learn something. I wonder which is more right?

"Well, it seems things are all wrapped up here, It's been a long day, so I'm going to go lie down for a bit," He turned to Voidus and continued, "I'll talk to you in the morning, there's a few things that we should probably look at regarding cleanup." Like how the heck is Cam allowed to grant apocalypse licenses? When I asked him about this fiasco his only response was that they had filed all their paperwork properly, so there was nothing he could do.

Turning away from Voidus he walked into the Alleys, grey, phantom walls appearing around him as he left the scene of carnage and re-entered his home.

Genghis let the staff hit, stopping at the aluminum. He pushed forward, and it pierced the aluminum, running into another layer. He swatted outward at the Jackal.

The Conqueror stepped fluidly to the side of the thrown blade, its sensors having noted the attack, and its gears turning the moment it left the man's hands.

A set of missiles came up, and fired at Max.

Genshis turned, growling at her. "Don't even think about it." He stepped forward, and his footstep cracked the ground.

***

The robot noted the woman, the shift in shape. It would use anti-Kandra procedures. A small opening in the left foot appeared, and a tube snaked out. It released a massive spray of a gas that dissolves flesh, even leaving small pockmarks in metal.

***

The Conqueror shot two needles, hitting the grenades dead on, knocking them back the wall to blow up there.

Mud covered the robot. It had procedures, but they were annoyingly long. Five seconds. The metal surface heated incredibly hot, enough that anything nearby would boil. The mud cracked, all moisture leaving it. Then concentrated jets of water moved over the surface, blasting the mud back.

It looked for the source, and sent an aluminum lined bomb that would release fifty different neurotoxins into the air. The 'caster probably couldn't get them all.

Althea is fighting the same enemy, Max is. I have to admit, that I'm not sure, how your two scenes fit together. If it's covered in mud, it couldn't have noticed Max attack, that was the point of covering it in the first place. And is it shooting the bullets and the bomb at the same time?

I’d assume it shot the missiles first, and then got covered in mud?

The blade missed, and instantly it was dismissed and re-summoned in Max’s grasp. He could always count on Sethramir, ever since he’d first gotten it from Devaan, passed from warrior to warrior. As the first missile sailed towards him he sliced it in half cleanly, the explosives not having time to detonate at the collision.

The thing with machinery, was that you couldn’t Riot it. That annoyed Max. The one Conqueror he’d gotten... he couldn’t Riot.

Max ran forward as the second missile flew at him. He sprinted, using Sethramir as an anchor to vault himself nearer to the Conqueror, who seemed distracted by some mud. He hoped that if the missile detonated, the explosive radius would harm the Conqueror too.

“You’re right,” Wes said, and stood up. Mike had taken the ring, that was good, it must have meant Wes’ ideas weren’t completely useless after all. Quickly he gestured for them to follow him up the stairs again, leading all the way to the rooftop.

“I hope we can do what the Righthand wants us to. Even the small monsters like that spren are scary. Imagine what’s on the roof.”

Maybe, idk? The point of what I did, was to support you, distract it - which I stated in my post. I have to admit, I have no idea how else to rp a supportive character. But alright, I'll get rid of the bomb for the sake of the timeline.

A bomb. Another bomb. Why was everybody throwing deadly things around? Vesuvius, Sephtis, Althea groaned, then she closed her eyes and concentrated. She'd bribed the air earlier, and so it was easy to shove a handful of stormlight at it, encase the bomb in stone. It might be aluminum lined, but her stone was not. A grin touched her face when she snatched the stone and elsecalled it, including it's content away.

Mike nodded, then he ran after Wes. Whatever it was, they most likely had to hurry. Cold slowly spread through his veins and he looked around. His eyes seemed sharper, and the sounds around him were louder, easier to - Mike cursed and stopped, stared into the glass of a door. Fox. Sly, devilish fox. He stared and stared, listened to Wes steps getting quieter. Wes. He reached out for wolf's need to protect him and acted on his need to stay close, his eyes changing back.

Finally, they were at the rooftop. The fear of the conqueror was great, especially of the one that was literally giving out fear pheromones, but the fear of punishment from disobeying the Righthand was greater.

We are here, he texted. What did you want us to do, madam?

He gulped and looked at the monsters.

Aylitha watched the gas spew out from the robot, swirling around it and blasting towards her. The first wisps of gas reached her, skin burning away. Dodging to the side she considered the situation, then charged back in, ignoring the gas. Her flesh melted away, only to immediately regenerate. Sending a request to her other self her mind expanded, reaching out to the creatures previously controlled by her other self. Some of them started to melt as well, their flesh siphoned off to help Aylitha regenerate. She rushed in, trying to get to the robot as quickly as possible.

***

KanMien watched the shapeshifter run in, something about her looking weird, like they were getting hurt, flesh falling away from them and reappearing. "Don't get close!" They called to the others. "Acid gas!" Annoyed they watched the shapeshifter. At that range firing grenades would just injure her as well. Instead they slung their grenade launcher over their shoulder and took out both their pistols, ready for any further rockets or bombs.

***

Fragarach smiled at the man in armor and tilted her sword forwards into a stabbing stance. She kicked off from the ground, jumping forwards, and a gust of wind appeared behind her, propelling her forwards, stabbing the sword towards the man.

"Kneel and don't resist. This will all be over soon."

Anthony did as they asked, though he growled as he did so. His fists were balled tightly, with the knuckles white. But he would follow Tena's will. He would listen. He looked to both sides, to his daughter, to his wife, and he wanted to kill the invaders for what they were doing. He looked up at the shell of his stepson, who had been replaced by this freak, this abomination, something nature never intended. He struggled not to cry, his fury engulfing him, blinding him in white hot rage. He shook silently, full of anger, and the memory of a whip lashing a girls back grew strong within him.

"You did well. I am proud to have you as the heir to this great lineage. Of all those I could have chosen, you were by far the most obvious choice. Wise, but raised to be ruthless and not hindered by emotions. Talost was always there beneath the calm surface of Silas, and all that was needed was some tampering to bring out... perfection. I am proud of you, but you must stay true to your chosen path. End them without mercy."

Anthony growled deeply, hearing the slander of his stepson, Silas, who had been replaced by Freak. Freak who would kill them, if Tena had her way. He looked at Ambrosia, who was sobbing deeply. His fury grew strong again, his vision blanking, and he imagined ripping someone to pieces, imagined gore, violence. A memory from the old self appeared, and he took a sharp intake of breath. Hellbent stands in the midst of a field of blood, gore splattering his boots, his legs, his chest. His eyes are filled with carnal pleasure, and the crows begin to land, followed by vultures, cremlings, rats. The field becomes a feast, the corpses consumed by the creatures.

Althea looked down and then nodded. Finally, they had taken their time.

An EMP. Preferably you only take out the enemies and leave out tech working.

She texted back, tried to keep her touch to the spren around them. Exhaustion clung to her, like a weight dragging her down. Still she kept it back for now, fought it. She had failed already, she would see this through, do her best. Silently she wished, that she could do something else but stand here, that she knew how to wield her blade, that she had a good idea, anything but to bury that robot beneath tons of stone and metal. Which she couldn't do anymore. She had to use her remaining stormlight responsibly. Just die, vanish. She urged the thing on, knew that it wouldn't.

Mike stopped when Wes did, looked around, as if someone standing guard would do them any good. Happiness, joy, he hadn't realized that porcupine hadn't only been fearful, but also full of joy and quiet content. With her gone - he watched Lord Ajax defeat, but even that victory didn't banish the cold that had settled where porcupine had been. Squid wrapped himself around his fingers, tried to comfort him, but Mike only sighed. Squid. Little squid. Fox was lying in the darkness, observed him. He was patient, he had time. Mike's eyes widened when he saw snake between his paws. Snake, of course. She'd waited for a chance to grab control for a while.

It took some effort to concentrate on the world around him again, but he managed. For now he managed.

Wes nodded. Making an EMP was easy, it had been one of his assignments when he’d been training, but making one big enough for the whole rooftop? Harder. But to try and only take out the Enemy ones? He’d definitely need some help.

We’re on it, he messaged and ducked behind a slab of metal that had imbedded itself into the rooftop, probably from an explosion.

“Mike,” he said. “There are some defeated enemies around. Do you think you could find one, bring back their communications chip? It should look reddish-brown.”

Wes was taken aback by his own orders? Him, ordering people around? Ordering Mike around. But, Mike was the leader! But still, Wes knew this was one part he couldn’t just be a supporting role in. He was the only one who knew how to make an EMP.

“Seom. Do you think you can steal one of the enemy’s guns? I think I have a plan.”

Mike nodded and without hesitating turned around and ran towards the corpses lying around. They stank, after blood and electricity. He turned one of them around, stared at the half of the head that was left over and paused. There wouldn't be a chip admist this mass of bones and brain and - gagging he stumbled to the next one. Chip. Some chip. Reddish-brown. Mike searched, but there was nothing. Nothing. Just a lot of devices he had no idea what they might do. Fearful he ran to the next one, found almost the same devices, but again, nothing that looked like a reddish brown chip.

With a curse he went to the next one, felt a gentle touch against his thoughts and stopped, somwhere between the corpses. A chip. He was searching for a chip. Returning to the last body he'd taken a closer look at, he tried to pry some of the devices open. How could he think, that a chip would be lying around in the open? He peered at the mass of cables, and put it aside, then looked at the next one. There was a chip, but it looked blue. His hands shook when he searched the body again, found a third device, but this time he wasn't able to open it.

Fox lifted the device and bit down hard, crushing the plastic beneath his teeth. A chip was in there, and he simply took the device, together with the other two in his paws, back to Wes. He placed them on the ground next to Wes in a delicate row, stared at him with his slit orange eyes. So this was the little one Wolf cared so much about. Fox sniffed the air, then dismissed Wes, as non important. No threat. Slowly he moved his legs and arms, covered them in fur, changed his ears as well. He liked the body. It was strong, trained.

Talost laughed. Deep in the throat at the beginning, rising to a gurgle, and then a shriek. "You really are an idiotic fool! You really thought Silas didn't realize what you had done? Silas woke up. Partially. Only one side of his body was under his control, the right side. "I am..." he struggled to speak, the slack left side of his face slurring his speech, "I am truly sorry." Silas knew that there was only one thing he could do. He needed to kill Talost before Talost killed his family. Issue was, Talost thought the same thing of Silas. Anthony's breathing stopped.

He was dead to the world, a flood of memories, all of them, returning. His early years - Hellbent's early years - as a child in the Roughs. Running away, joining the Koloss tribe, leading the Koloss tribe. Growing the tribe, making the tribe all Koloss-blooded, more intelligent. Moving the tribe into bandits of the sky, his flying gang. Roshar, his criminal past there. Scadrial, Roshar, Scadrial, Roshar. Forty years of memories, of marriage, of having a little girl for nine years. Memories of murdering children, his first truly horrendous crime. Burning them to get his revenge on Harmony. Harmony had burnt Anthonyt's house? Well, Anthony would burn down a house full of sleeping Terris children. More memories flooded in, after he had became Hellbent. Slaughtering Shin, killing Alethi, killing Veden, killing anyone he could get his hands on. Building a cultist empire on Roshar, the Blood Radiants. Hellbent discovering the Alleyverse, then going to help on a quest. He had gone to a party, thrown by Queen Elsa Steelheart, brought an entire cooked chasmfiend. And then... the Red Haze. He had joined the Seven Day War, fought for the Dark Alley, slaughtered. He would have murdered Drako, but Devaan was there. He had fought Devaan... and he had died. The years in between were murky, insubstantial. He had been like a spren from Hell, creating chaos. But always keeping the Alleylantrian spikes. And eventually, he had become It. He had killed Space Marines, created hemalurgic demons. And the warriors had trembled. He had gone to the Ghostblood ball. He had fought Dusk. He had done so, so much.

Anthony struggled to remember himself, struggled to be him, with all the slaughter, the bloodshed, the crimes. But there was two years of Anthony... and more than seventy years of Hellbent. Anthony was falling deeper into the darkness, and Hellbent was crawling to the surface, to slaughter the child, Anthony's wife, the attackers... and Anthony couldn't stop him.

Then... relief. The memories receded, were put behind a veil. Anthony could sense that they were still there, but they were blocked. He could access them, but they weren't his. He wasn't Hellbent, he wasn't It, he wasn't even the original Anthony. He was Anthony Nightshade, Tena's husband, Sol's father. He felt peace as he came to these conclusions. And then there was a voice.

How's that? Better?

Anthony was confused. He had fought of the memories, and now this?

No, no. The voice chuckled. You didn't defeat them. I did. I hid them.

Who are you?

The voice sighed. Who am I? I am a friend. That's all you need to know. I will provide you with the abilities you need to defeat them.

You can do that?

Yes.

Three months of memories filled him. Training. Fighting. War. The memories integrated into him, and a small amount stayed. Then they were gone. Next, two months of changing his body, molding his flesh. A day or two's worth in memories stayed, and the rest disappeared again.

Are you ready?

Yes.

Anthony breathed in sharply, and his eyes flew open. For a second, one eye had an image over it, like molten fire. But it was just that. An image for a second. He had stopped breathing for ten seconds. He grinned lightly, standing slowly. His body rippled, small plates of bone began appearing on the surface of his arms, of his neck, of his face. Small spikes grew out of his hands. He looked down at Talost and Silas, and noted they were no longer a threat. He turned, looking at the others. The siblings. He grinned, and reached out, grabbing his bowstaff. "Tena? Protect the children and Ambrosia, and try to bring Silas back to us." He dropped into a fighting stance. "I'm going to kill these bastards."

He sprinted forward, tapping massive amounts of fortune, and slid the staff under a mans feet, slamming the man to the ground. He brought the metal end down on the mans face, and moved on, hoping he'd killed him, whirling around the room, moving inhumanly quickly, bone plates growing to block any attacks. He hit again and again, at least twenty times over the room. Only the first was almost definitely lethal, but the rest would hurt.

Ambrosia watched, eyes wide. She stood slowly, making sure the children were safe, and ran out the front porch, gripping the gemstone tightly, to teleport at a moments notice.

The stormlight left John's gemstone. He growled, stepping back, and backhanded her. John raised his claws, as if he was going to slash her face. Then the wall behind him exploded. His wing tore at an unnatural angle, and he flew backward. Through the hole in the wall strode Lord Arkos Garfield Alexander Ohne Maximus Hölle Hamilton Julian Kingsley Ebony III, member of the Triarchy. He grinned darkly, and amberite grew up in a suit around him. "Open fire." The House Ebony guards around him opened fire, blasting thousand of bullets at Ark and John. Ark ran forward, grabbing Aln, and threw her out the door. He turned, a sword growing from his hand, and slashed at John, ripping into the bugs. John disintegrated, bugs going every which way, out of the room. Soon, every bug was gone.

Ark grinned, turning back to Aln.

"I hope you weren't hit. We had to get him suddenly, so we could kill as many bugs as possible."

Tena swore. "I watched Hellbent die, dammit. She sighed. "If you dare to go crazy again, I'll kill you and whatever little beast inside of you that makes you like this." She called this to him, irritated, cradling Solace after Ani had apparently forgotten about her. @Ark1002
